It's a big difference compared to other ranges where all you smell is lead and gunpowder the entire time. Like any craft, shooting takes repetition -- and that means going through a lot of targets. Most ranges sell targets with a 2-3 inch gap between the edge of the paper and the printed target image. That's normal. But this range sells targets that clip within an inch of the scoring line on their holders. Then they turn around and charge you $1 for every hole that goes past that line. It's a setup, and it feels like a scam. No other range I've been to does this. And unlike most ranges that charge you upfront, Johns Creek Indoor Range waits until the end so they can nickel‑and‑dime you for every "over‑the‑line" hole. It's a tactic that takes advantage of new shooters and anyone who doesn't know their system. A range should help people learn -- not create a trap to squeeze extra money out of customers. This practice is misleading, unfair, and something no shooter should have to deal with.

It felt intrusive and out of place for what should've been a laid-back shopping trip. Most of the items seemed overpriced for what they were--mostly name-brand products you could easily find elsewhere for less. There wasn't anything particularly unique or exciting that stood out about the store itself. Overall, I just didn't understand the hype. It looked nice on the surface, but the actual shopping experience fell short.

But, after my recent sub=par experience receiving an FFL transfer here, I am not a happy customer. As a point of reference. I have done scores of FFL transfers at businesses all over the state and am well-versed in how long it should take. This transfer, however, at Main Street Guns & Range took an entire hour. Yes, an entire hour for a 15-minute (tops) process. In his defense, the employee doing the transfer was also helping another customer with what appeared to be a complicated purchase. But there were several other employees present who it, seems, could have come over and pitched in to help out. But they didn't, and I stood there for an hour. After this experience I do not believe I will ever have any future FFL transfers sent to this business, my time is too valuable to me to do so.
