Make sure to buy tickets online. It's cheaper than purchasing at the gate. There was a flash sale online, and I was able to get my tickets way ahead of time for $17.95 each. It's now $29.95 online and $35.95 at the gate. The pumpkin patch, obviously on the pricey side, is more of an attraction as there are a lot of activities to do. There's the typical photo-op setup filled with pumpkins in the background. As you walk further in, there is a playground area for kids to get on the swings and slides. You can also find a place to look at animals - goats, donkey, chickens, etc. Scattered throughout the farm are various cars kids can hop into and take photos in. We went on the hayride, which was a nice 10 minute ride to see the Christmas trees. They also have a dedicated area to buy pumpkins. If you get hungry or thirsty, they have a lot of shaded areas to sit and eat. They sell food and beverages. Overall, it was a fun experience for the entire family. read more

You can definitely make this place fun for an 18 month old or a date night. We had so much fun on a Sunday night with just a bit of time left before closing. I wish we had just a bit more time because they close food at 5:30. We were able to get wine and curly fries before they closed. The wine: we had the porch white wine and the moonlight red. The white wine was too warm but it definitely would've been refreshing when chilled more. The red was nice and dry. A bonus was getting to keep the glass. The curly fries were actually delicious and I loved the Chipotle ranch. The farm has much to do and put your play hat on to enjoy it. I had a lot of fun riding the pedal cars on buggy speedway as an adult. The giant slide looked amazing too, but I was wearing a dress. I'd recommend shorts or pants to do all the fun things! The pumpkin were great. The variety was cool and I saw ones I've never seen before like the pink banana. Prices were reasonable compared to other places I've been. If you came here for pictures, you will enjoy many photo opportunities in the giant sunflowers, or many pumpkin truck set ups. Some fun small things: their toilet sign says last resort and their exit sign said home boring home. I did enjoy their sense of humor. Staff was nice even when asking people to get off the play equipment to leave. She apologized and said sorry for being an ogre lol. Just doing to her job to have people leave. I appreciated her candor. All in all, we had a great time and next year, I'll definitely plan for 2 hours. We were visiting family last minute and they already had tickets to come, so we decided to join them with our toddler. If you book early to can get tickets for like only $16, so that's a great deal! We paid more...I think like $25 which is kind of expensive. There's free parking thankfully! Children 2 and under are free. There's a lot of activities for the kids. I think 5 years old is a sweet spot for coming here. There's several activities that you need to 40 inches for like the giant show. One of the rides you need to be 45 inches for which seems crazy. It was a small swing. Our nephew who is 5 wasn't tall enough for the one, but he was for the giant slide that does a jump. You actually get a little air, so it looks pretty scary for little ones. Little ones also have to be able to carry their own tube up the stairs which would be hard. There's a little train ride, a tractor hay ride, giant bouncing pillows, a ferris wheels, 3 mazes, a mini rollercoaster, pedal-powered cars, giant tubing slide, slides and a playground. In December, there's also Santa and Mrs Claus that you can snap photos with. We had a nice family outing here. It's also a winery and you can buy glasses or a bottle on site. Tip: Get the bottle! A bottle is either $22 or $28 depending on the kind, but all glasses are $10.75, so you might as well get the bottle. There's a couple of activities inside like face painting or ornament painting that cost extra. Be prepared to spend plenty of hours here to do all the activities. Some of the activities are up a hill, so wear good walking shoes. Pack snacks, lunch and drinks. read more

This was my first time visiting and I had a blast! In fact there was so much to do that we didn't get to do everything. The kids will definitely be entertained. The staff is friendly and attentive to keeping the grounds clean. This isn't a knock to the farm but the bees were present and they wanted to have fun too so it made it a little hard to enjoy eating at the benches but overall not a huge deterrent to the farm. It can get pricey but you expect that at one of these events. I'm looking forward to visiting for Christmas and would recommend visiting at some point. read more

We were so excited to come and get our Christmas tree at Mainstay Farm since the kids started asking after their field trip. It's for sure a substantial drive, but I thought it would be worth it. I scoured the website and it says "In 2022 you can choose-&-cut a tree ANYtime we are open during our Christmas season!" What they fail to mention is that it would cost nearly $150 for our family of 5 to simply enter the farm, which is required in order to purchase a tree. I was willing to pay for the tree, which I assume is a large amount to begin with, but this is too much. They need to either make it crystal clear on their website you must buy a ticket before buying a tree, or offer pre-cut trees to buy in the store. read more

SO MUCH FUN FOR THE FAMILY! The only things I saw that cost extra were Apple shooting, the food for the goats, food/drink for you, and anything purchased in the gift shop. We bought our tickets during a flash sale a month before the farm opened for pumpkin days, so they were $13.65ea including the convenience fee. Normally tickets are closer to $20 online (2 and under free). $20 is pretty steep, especially if you have a large family like ours, so I would make a point of watching out for those presale tickets. Food inside the farm is also a little pricey, so we packed a picnic dinner. The farm is probably best enjoyed by kids in the 2-10 age range. I did see a few couples without children and quite a large number of couples with infant children, but I don't see how it could possibly been very fun for them. Infants are too young to enjoy hayrides and adults only benefit from tricycle courses when they're watching their child race on them. Kids over 10 will likely find everything but the tubing hill boring. The farm is BEAUTIFUL, by the way. Wish I had gotten more pictures of the landscape. As for timing, plan to spend all day! We arrived on a Saturday at 2pm and left when it closed at 8pm. If we had gotten there earlier, we definitely could have spent more time. The fun never seemed to end for my kids. I know a lot of people have a great time out here so maybe it just wasn't for us. But let me explain my experience and you be the judge from there. First thing that really irked me. $70 after fees for me and my three year old. Let me repeat that. $70. He was not even tall enough for some of the attractions , he could barely work the pedal cars and when he went to the hay, some bigger kids were throwing handfuls into the air where the wind caught it and got into everyone's eyes. Second, the LINES. They sell way too many tickets for the amount of things they have to do which leaves guests waiting in lines for hours. We got in the face painting line and stood in it for 20 minutes without it moving (picture below) so we left. We did the hayride and that was pretty underwhelming as well. I was expecting some Halloween decorations along the trail or SOMETHING to look at, but instead was met with some bible scriptures by the driver The rides are so old and dilapidated; as much as they charge per guest there is no reason they can't have a better ride selection and better terrain for the guests. I saw so many parents struggling with strollers across rocks and sand and my three year old was constantly tripping. This next part is not the parks fault, but still something that needs to be shared with people interested in attending. We went on a day with really high wind gusts. This place is built on a sand pit basically. So with every wind gust, we were hit in the face with flying sand/dirt. We spent most of the day blinking sand out of our eyes and left the farm COVERED in sand. It was awful so check the forecast before heading out. Really, if it was more reasonably priced, I probably wouldn't have reviewed at all. It's really the fact that I looked around at a place that probably pulled in $60000 this weekend just in admission prices, had to pay $12 for a plastic water bottle with ice water, $13 for two cotton candys, and couldn't do most of the attractions because of the insanely long lines. This place has potential but it's def not immune to the corporate greed that is the entertainment industry. read more

Time with my kid is what gets this place stars! Other than that, the cost and what is offered is pretty lackluster. To the photographer who does this place's advertisements, I want to award you a gold metal for making this place look so welcoming and appealing. Folks - it costs $70 for 2 people, regardless of age (unless you are under 2), and the rides are old, not a lot shade, some attractions cost more, and the staff we encountered must have been having a bad day. All I kept thinking was families spent so much money to be here/might be the one event they do, and this was all they got! Edit - Evan at the face painting barn was the saving grace! Only go if you have kids who can walk and don't require a stroller. We couldn't do half of the things because the terrain was too rough to go up the gravel hill. Little pricey if you can't enjoy everything but hey it was our first time so we didn't know. Maybe next year will be better for us. Weekend Tip: Get there by 11AM at the latest. We left around 12:30 and the parking lot was overflowing on a Saturday during pumpkin days. Lines for food and rides were really long and it got crowded in the photo areas which is what we mostly came for. They do allow for re-entry if you're a frugal family who needs to save money on food, enjoy it from your car then go back in. At $20/person for a large family I totally understand. I took my 3yo and 1yo and it was $64 for my toddler and I (2 and under are free). It was very overwhelming for my 3yo. She finally felt safe to play on the hay bales and had a good time but then there were big kids running free and didn't see much supervision around. It was way overpriced for a 3yo admission of $32. The only days they're open is Friday-Sunday so it will always be busy. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

We arrived at about 11am, and it was already quite full but parking was easy. Entered the farm pretty quickly which was nice. Lots of activities especially for school aged kids. My daughter is 2 so she was limited on what she could do but there was still lots for her to do despite that. She loved feeding the animals at the petting zoo, playing on the hay bales, jumping on the bouncer, riding the train (not really a train, connected carts pulled by a golf cart) and even rode the Ferris wheel comfortably. We definitely enjoyed our time there. The big negative for me was the food though. We'll plan to eat before we go next time. The chicken tenders were very dry, not tender lol. The big beef hot dogs were ruined by being boiled instead of roasted. I'm not sure about the other food but I'm not likely to spend money on food there in the future. read more

Last year (2017) was our first time here just after thanksgiving. We were looking for a real tree and saw this place was nearby. We had a great experience and our Fraser fur lasted longer than we expected. We returned again this year to pick out another one. We purchased tickets online (you have to pay to get in) and saved just a few dollars instead of paying there. We each received a voucher for a discount on a tree. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and very helpful in picking out a tree, wrapping it and helping put it on our truck. My nephew and family had fun with all of the things Mainstay has to offer. This place is a waste of money! Maybe our expectations were high after going to YesterLand. It's so dark at night you can't see where you are going and what they have to offer.Especially if you have kids! After walking around in the dark we noticed they had nothing to offer but a few things. The hayride took us around in a circle in the dark, nothing to sight see. Wasn't sure what the point of it was. The food also stops early, so expect to be hungry after 8pm. However they still serve wine?.. with no food. Terrible! This place is amazing! Everyone who works there is not only polite but thoughtful, the young man running the train offered to take our photo, since my whole family went... Yep, we took up the whole train! There is something for everyone and every age, plus things that all ages can do together! We rode the tractor trikes, bounced on the jumper, tubes down the snow hill, zipped down the zip line, played in the hay, went through the maze, rode the train, the swings, and sampled some delicious food and drink. Super fun place for the kids and adults alike - and with the price for admission, it should be a fun place for all! However, you aren't allow to bring in any food or drinks from outside, so they have you by the short-hairs. We purchased three cheeseburgers (at $13.95/per), chicken strips, and french fries. The edge of the beef patties were so charred that when we bit into them they actually crunched. The chicken tenders and french fries were wet/soggy and lukewarm at best (french fries' flavor was tasty if you could get past the soggy and cold nature of them). Any kind of drink is $5 for a 12 oz cup - might have been 16 oz, but after it gets filled w ice, you're lucky if you get 8 oz of soda. At each of the food stations we went to, they were being run by teenagers/kids. No adults supervising or ensuring quality control. The kids really enjoyed the park, had a great variety of activities, and slept like babies last night. **UPDATE** I did contact the farm with feedback about the experience we had with our food, and received a very nice apology reply from them and they made it right by us. read more

We had a fun day at the farm! This is so much more than a pumpkin patch in the fall. The cost of admission is around $20. You get a better deal if you purchase your tickets online first. Parking is free! We spent about 4 hours there and probably could have spent about an hour more. It was perfect for our 8 year old and the 13 year old enjoyed himself as well. There is so much to do! There are separated areas for younger kids under 5 and then an area for everyone else. Included in the admission is a tubing hill( my kids favorite), zip Line, slides, animals to pet, sheep riding, swings, basketball, jump pillows, hay ride, playgrounds, pedal cars, tricycles, large swings, mazes, sunflower fields, and a pumpkin house. There was also live music to enjoy! Enjoyed a bit of education about bees on the hay ride too! The cons are that parts of it are on a hilly area and with strollers and any mobility issues would be difficult. My 8 year old slipped walking down the hill on the gravel. Make sure your family wears shoes for walking on uneven ground. The snacks and food/ drinks are pricey but you can bring in anything you want from home! The face painting was an additional $8. There was also an Apple fire cannon that was an additional cost. Purchase a pumpkin at $15 for a large one and keep your local farm in business!! read more

I objected to it costing nearly $50 for two seniors to come to an apple/pumpkin/tree farm. I am still objecting. Yes, there was a live band, country, and a place to sit where it was semicooler with extremely loud country music in it, and some rides geared toward little children and littler children. Rocky terrain and several signs saying you can't sue them. Overpriced items for sale, overpriced food for sale, overpriced drinks for sale. The hayride had no hay. Lots of hills and rocks, so you are any type of mobility impaired, beware. Very spaced out. Was unable to find any hot cider. We have been to very many autumn time festivals and apple orchards, and this is not our favorite. There wasn't any air-conditioning to sit down if you got overheated. on a scale of 1 to 10, unfortunately I think this is a two. Feels kind of like one of those old-time tourist traps. After paying $50 a couple to enter, I did not expect to have to pay eight dollars for paint facing, five dollars to shoot some apples it of a cannon, and other items that didn't come included in the price. We took our kids: 33 and 28 and our grandkids, 5, twins 9 and a 17 year old. Zoey is one of the twins and is in an electric wheel chair. While she couldn't do everything, she was able to go everywhere. She loved being able to go through the mazes. We did have to have the front gate opened to get in. When leaving, there was no one readily available. Tristan was Johnny on the spot. He saw our need and jumped right in to open the gate to let us out. He even took a group picture for us. Like Tristan, I found all of the staff to be just wonderfully hospitable. As for things for those who are not 3-7 years old, there is lots to do. Unlike those who say it's only for kids, we found lots to do. Slides and pedal driven 4 wheeler kind of things, tricycles, hay ride, pretty good food and so forth. This is such a fun place and I am so glad we found it! This is just minutes away from our home in Burleson and they had amazing, gorgeous and extremely fresh Christmas Trees to choose from. We found the perfect one and got a stand onsite. We went the day after Thanksgiving so it was a bit crowded but there were lots of workers and things moved fast once we picked out tree. You have to take the tag inside the store to pay for it so best to have someone do that while someone else stays with the tree. It looks like they have a great set up for pumpkin time as well. We went out on Saturday following Thanksgiving 2020 COVID Year... we were told on phone that we could get a tree without paying for entry into the Park just pay for the tree. They wanted 36.00 for 2 people just to go in to buy a Tree. This seems ludicrous when a Pandemic is going on and you can go down the street to Haynes Tree Farm and not pay a penny for entry just buy your tree so that's what we will do each year. Worth the drive for the Christmas festivities! We heard about this place from a Facebook group and decided to check it out. I had heard about the "high prices" so I looked on their website and saw that online tickets were $9 each..free for children under 3 years old. The "high" price was $12 at the door...though after going I think it is well worth it. We had already gotten our Christmas tree at Whole Foods, but there are some beautiful ones offered here - though from what I could tell, most people were buying the precut ones (a 10 foot tree we saw was $198). Trucks were constantly going in and out of the farm picking up the trees, so watch your kids. The activities were nice: for the toddlers there was a mini slide, trikes, and chair swing, though I would make sure that you are comfortable before launching your kid on the swing as it comes to a sudden stop and launches the kid up and backward...not recommended for kids under 2. There is also an ATV train which my daughter loved. For everyone else, there is a smore pit, some long swings, a large jumping bubble-thing... The animal petting area is past the store, and the LARGE slide is past that near the back of the farm - if you want to do that one you will have to sign a waiver, seriously. There are bikes for the big kids/adults back there too. **One thing I would definitely recommend is that if your hungry, a funnel cake and some cookies are NOT your only options and the line sucks. Keep walking past the hay barn play area and you will find a silo-shaped kitchen selling THE BEST smoked pulled pork sandwiches. I WISH I had known about that place before I stood 30 minutes in the little gas station fill-up thing for some $4 boxes of water (yes, boxes) and some funnel cake. I would pay the $9 entry again just for one of those $6.50 sandwiches, that's how good they are. The store isn't much to look at unless you want to pay double for quirky things you can find at Target. Santa is ok, though they have him tucked away near the trees. My daughter didn't care for him. The sheep come right up to the kids even if you don't have treats for them. I would save the $. On your way out, let your kid jump around in the hay farm, but skip the sandbox..... Overall it was well worth the trip and a great value. Everyone was nice and extremely helpful. We plan on going again when it gets a bit cooler. read more
