Our GMC Duramax blew it's EGR bypass tube, gushing exhaust gas against the firewall and dropping our performance substantially. This all happened the day before Christmas - a bad time to ask for work to be done - primarily because of parts availability. This *did* delay the repair a bit - understandably so. Jamie quoted a fair time to replace this item (it's a *itch to get at) - which he stuck to. He did not gouge on the parts required either. I consider his prices to be fair for the work performed. read more

Don't spend your money here -Jamie is a scam artist. He regularly sells crap cars, knowingly and with shoddy repairs. I bought new tires for a vehicle I bought from him. He left off FOUR of the SIX lugnuts on one wheel on my car and let me drive off without mentioning it at all. Not to mention that not a single wheel was balanced. My timing belt broke because he ruined the threads where the tensioner bolts on. Its quite questionable if he uses manuals for the torque on any bolts. The vacuum lines on the engine were put together wrong, knowingly. If the part is old and questionable to reuse, well, its gonna be reused. If its absolutely dirty, well its going to get put back on dirty. Jamie will knowing hide information about cars he sells. He will lie to get money. And you will pay the price, and he will just say, "too bad, its not my problem". He lost in court. I sued and won easily. (collecting judgement is another thing, but his $50000+ truck is just asking for a lien sale) I am not the first person to have this trouble with him, I know of several others that also have had this same thing. "See how we can help you. From head gasket to tailpipe, we've got you covered." -Their website -Covered in debt "100% Customer Satisfaction. Find out what our clients are saying about us!" -Their website -Thats a lie, and a client here says you are crap. "ASE" certified but doesn't follow the guidelines. I am having to learn those in auto shop class (I was inspired to take those from this disaster). *Debbie at the front desk is nice, but the repair work is whats horrible. read more

6 months ago me and wife and 2 kids were driving all the way from Winnipeg, Canada doing a cross America road trip. Unfortunately we drove our f-150 pulling a camper too long in the desert and the transmission overheated and blew. We managed to make to it Barstow. Next morning I found Main St Auto and Fleet they helped me out right away and got me a new transmission installed before the weekend and saved our vacation. Our Tahoe started making weird drive train noise just before we headed across the Mojave desert to Needles. Main Street Auto and Fleet was able to take a look at it first thing Monday morning. They had to order a used differential from the LA area, but they got us back on the road Tuesday afternoon. And they gave us rides to and from the KOA where we parked our travel trailer while getting the Tahoe repaired. Jamie and Debbie Ridge are personable, honest, and competent. For the best service in town, come here.! We were on our way to Disneyland when the RV's fuel hose sprung a leak. We're unable to put fuel in the tank and we were running on fumes. We tried several repair places, but with no positive responses. We were referred to go here, because this company specializes in new and older vehicles, diesels, trucks, motor homes, fire engines, etc. The owners, Jamie & Debbie Ridge are the sweetest people we met in Barstow, CA. They fit us into their already busy schedule without hesitation and got us back on the road in a couple hours. It's a blessing to have some angels to help you when your in a pickle. We were traveling east on CA 58 when the power steering on our diesel pusher motor home started leaking real bad. Made it to Main St Auto and Fleet late on a FRi night. They let us stay overnight in their parking lot. On Saturday morning, Jamie and a couple of his men, worked on our rig for close to an hour trying to find a solution to our problem. Finally recommended a more specialized diesel shop across town. Jamie could have taken advantage of us but instead recommended us to a place that could do a quicker job. For all their trouble and effort he didn't charge me anything at all. First class operation! Highly recommend them. read more

I cannot say enough about how great this place is. I pulled into the shop with my new car overheating. Even though it was after hours and the owner was spending time with family and friends, he was so kind to try and help me out. He was honest with his suggestions of what might be the problem, filled up my car with coolant and although he was unable to work on the car due to others who's cars were already there ( the shop looked very busy so he is obviously popular) gave me recommendations for near by shops who he felt were honest and might be able to help me. A true Samaritan in every sense. If I lived here THIS would be the shop I would come to. read more

A part we had just replaced on our RV prior to embarking on our vacation failed to work about 4 hours into our journey. Yelp was our first choice to locate a repair facility near our location. We received excellent service from Main Street Auto and Fleet a family business. We were put at the head of the line for repairs and the rates were fair and clearly posted.
