On a recent trip to So Cal my Ford F350 6.7 powerstroke diesel decided it needed a trip to the spa. Fortunately for me, I happened to be in Barstow and was able to limp to Mojave Ford/Nissan. I pulled up on a Monday morning at 8:15am in the service department and was warmly met by the service manager, Jeff. I explained my situation, and he immediately asked he Ford diesel certified mechanic to look at the truck. In no time at all, they had diagnosed the problem and with a little good luck, it required a software update on the the computer and a a couple of other software tweaks. While the truck was being serviced, I was offered coffee, a place to work, and was warmly greeted by everybody from the sales team, to the parts department tech to the billing contact. This experience could have been a complete nightmare but because of the team at Mojave Ford Nissan, it was painless. While I can't recommend breaking down ever, what I can wholeheartedly recommend is seeking assistance at Mojave Ford Nissan. We were driving our Ford F-150 on the 15 heading to Las Vegas, and the check engine light started coming on. My husband who was driving said it felt like it was misfiring. We called the Ford place in Victorville, but they couldn't fit us in. I called Mojave Ford Nissan, and the service department got us in with an appointment about 45 min after I called and looked at the truck relatively quickly (took us about 30 min to get there). They figured out that one of our spark plugs in cylinder 6 was having issues and arcing outside of the plug. They wouldn't have a new spark plug until Monday (it was Friday), so they cleaned it and put dielectric grease on it and got us on the way again within 1.5 hours. It was covered under warranty so we didn't have to pay anything. Their waiting room had hot and cold water, coffee, vending machines, power, a TV and internet! Lots of room and restrooms. Luckily, we had food with us and just ate an impromptu lunch there (There are no restaurants close by). We were towing a trailer, so the lady I spoke to said that we could park it on the road behind the dealership. That was flat and convenient. I was really happy that they helped us so quickly and were so nice. We still need to fix the spark plug but at least they helped us get going again! read more

Drove 7 hours to get a limited edition ford raptor at this location. They were sold out in California. They had the exact configuration I was looking for. They marked the vehicle as sold for me over the phone without even asking for a deposit since I was the first one to call. They received inquiries from all around the country for this truck! She made the experience extremely smooth and even drove my rental car back to the rental place to make my life easier when I picked up the vehicle. The employee here was amazing! Came in because I got an oil change in North Carolina and drove ALL the way to California before my oil light came on.. in my brand new car! I stopped and checked under the hood to find my oil cap was never put back on!!! As soon as I called he got me in, even being from a different state. I was in the market for a Hyundai Accent Hatchback, and I just about went everywhere to find the one I wanted. I preferred a used car with less than 43,000 miles. Almost every dealership I went to was either over priced and not very tending to my needs. Almost every dealership tried putting me another vehicle due to my already high auto loan that I originally had from the year before, and every dealership I went to or talked to tried running my credit without trying to work out a deal. I wanted to know what was the total cost was including sales tax, whether or not the car had carfax, dock and DMV fees if they had any, or if it was included in the listed price. Also, I wanted to know what their warranty program was if there was any. Out of 9 dealerships. This was the only one willing to due an over the phone estimate of the price I would be paying according to my credit that I gave them. Their warranty is by far the best warranty than most dealership. The sales man who helped me with getting me with a great deal was Juan Esquivel. He's super friendly and very helpful. I appreciate him and his dealership for listening to my needs. Even though they are about 90 miles away from where I live, they were definitely were worth the drive and I couldn't be any happier. WORST SERVICE EVER! My daughter and I were traveling to Vegas on vacation when the transmission decided to not accelerate anymore and "Service Engine Soon" light came on. Since my 2010 Altima transmission was just replaced by Nissan UNDER WARRANTY I pulled off at Barstow to take my car to Mojave Nissan. Since it was Sunday, the service department was closed and most of the rental places were closed too. Assured that I would get a call from the service department, we spent the night in Barstow. The woman at the dealership there was extremely helpful and arranged a shuttle to the hotel. The next morning I waited until 9 a.m.(since they open at 7 a.m.) and I decided to call them myself. I get a hold of Jeff D. in servicing when I was then told that he didn't have a diagnostician to look at my vehicle. Since the car can't get diagnosed, they wouldn't cover the rental car. Fine, I took care of it. Met Jeff at Nissan that Monday with a promise from Jeff that he would call Tuesday with an update since I was coming back into Barstow on Wednesday. Tuesday came and went. I called 5 minutes after their service department closed to see if I could catch someone, nope! Wednesday morning around 9 a.m., I call back to service and Jeff informs me that the tech is test driving it at that moment so he doesn't have an answer yet. I can deal with that. Again at 11 a.m. as I am leaving Vegas, I call them to get an update. Jeff informs me that the tech could not recreate the problem and that no codes were pulled. I think it's weird that a service light can come on and not throw a code, but what do I know? I get back to Barstow around 4 and Jeff is gone. Now, I get to talk to Steven Wright. I tell Steve my concern that it's weird that this happens. Steve tells me that since my car is 8 years old, traveling approx. 80 miles per hour, in 110 degree heat for a couple of hours will definetly make this happen and that I need a new vehicle. I express that I am less than happy with the service at Mojave with the unkept promise of updates and Steve apologizes on behalf of Mojave and Jeff. Apology accepted and I go on my way. Since I don't want this issue to keep happening in the future, I figure that I would be better if I can recreate the problem so that they can document and help me diagnose the problem so that I won't happen again. So this time I take the trip to Barstow with a couple of friends and without my daughter since I know this could be dangerous. Low and behold, I recreated the issue! I take my car back to Mojave since this is the area that my car seems to have issue in. Steven is the only service advisor available and I ask him to look at my car. Steven informs me that he has no tech available. I ask if he can at least look at it and document the issue. He follows me out to my car and tells me again that my car is too old, going too fast, running the AC, etc. I do not agree with that statement and ask him to at least test drive it himself so that he can document his findings. Do all vehicles over 8 years old have their cars go into a "fail-safe" mode and unexpectedly lose power and speed on the highway? It doesn't matter since he doesn't want to take my car. At this point, I am mad. Voices are raised, both his and I. He admits its a transmission issue. He had verified previously that a new transmission is in place and it is still under warranty, of course I am going start getting a bit indignant. I don't know what he's feeling in that instant, but he walks away. Ten minutes later he approaches my vehicle and is so CALM and FRIENDLY. "Should we try this again?" he asks. Sure, I reply and we get into the same conversation except now I am even more angry. We are both saying the same things again. This time as he walks away, he turns off his phone recorder! He was recording this conversation without my knowledge! While I know that this isn't illegal, it is DOUCHE-BAGGERY at it's finest. After I found out he was recording, I went back in recording too. I told him he should've informed me that he was recording and that he told me that he did it to "protect" himself and that he was going to call the police. I waited, police never came. Meanwhile, my friend's boyfriend(she told him the situation we were facing) who works for Sears Auto was able to find a service bulletin from Nissan detailing the exact issue and the workaround for it! If anyone in that service department took the time to look into my situation, and not just dismiss something the customer is saying, this could have been an easy fix. tl;dr: DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE! If you are forced to do business here, make sure you record your conversations for YOUR protection. They obviously care more about THEIR protection than yours. read more

An oasis in the desert. While traveling from Las Vegas, NV, to Folsom, CA, an Engine Fault warning came on in my F150 leading to an unplanned visit to the Service Department. The source of the fault was traced to rodent damage to an engine connector, which required replacement; including a travel delay to obtain the part. While the delay was not pleasant, the experience with the service department was. Our service advisor, Marsha, was great. She got our truck into the shop right away, explained the inspection result, made recommendations regarding a hotel, and arranged the shuttle to get us to and from the hotel. read more

This review is hard to write because we enjoyed working with Marsha. She deserves 5 stars. She was very helpful and worked with our post market warranty to get approximately 65% of the total $6,400 paid for repairs. But, after having our F150 in the shop with Mojave Ford Nissan for over a week to replace the turbos, to break down 11 miles outside of Tehachapi on our way home was stressful. When the repair shop the truck was towed to showed us that the hose from the right turbo to anti-freeze had come loose because it was not inserted or attached properly, it was disappointing (not to mention another $360 out of our pocket to fix). Our second disappointment came when we communicated with Mojave Ford Nissan regarding the issue and sent them pictures of the detached hose and the receipt. After spending so much money you'd think they would be willing to refund a portion of the additional expense, but they didn't and that tells me they don't stand behind their work. read more

I've been a loyal customer until I found out they really weren't checking what they were supposed to. Last time they checked my brakes was before my warranty was over ~40k. Then all of a sudden they say you needed brakes and rotors all around. I asked what were the service technician doing all this time? I got no apology what so ever! My Mom and I were driving my Nissan Rogue from the Vegas area. A fter an hour in 109° heat, our A/C started blowing hot air. A Google search found the nearest Nissan dealer in Barstow, CA about 98 miles from our location. I contacted Jeff in the service department and explained our situation. He answered my questions, gave us some options for driving in the extreme heat without A/C, and said he would get to us right in when we arrived. On arrival, the service team greeted us and directed my mom to an air conditioned area of the dealership while I provided my information. Their courtesy van took me to pick up lunch, while my Mom waited in their showroom. About 30 minutes later, it was determined that the compressor components were severely damaged and not repairable. We still had about 1,300 miles to go and most of the route was forecasted to be from 95° to 115°. There was no option but to replace it. Because my vehicle is older, the part had to be overnighted from the Nissan parts warehouse in Sacramento. This meant we would need to reserve a room for the night. Another courtesy driver dropped us off at our motel and picked us up the next morning after the repairs were finished. They even helped load our baggage into the car. Jeff and the service department team worked quickly to diagnose the problem. Jeff provided a thorough and understandable explanation, and options for new or certified remanufactured parts. No one wants to deal with costly repairs, especially for older vehicles. They can be an inconvenience in your home town, or can derail or ruin your vacation. The cost and additional disruption to our trip could have derailed it but the caring, excellent service made our day! P.S. to Jeff - it was a much cooler, comfortable ride to San Francisco. When I got there with the tow truck at around 3pm they said the technician was out to lunch and at around 6pm they said that their machine was down and could not tell me what was wrong with my car. 4 days later and I will call them and leave a message, never a call back not even once. They somehow got my work phone number and called repeatedly, forcing my coworkers to field annoying sales calls for me, which was awkward. When I called them back and asked them to stop calling my work number, they denied ever having called despite me having the phone number of the caller on caller ID and the caller having identified himself as from Mojave Auto Group in Barstow. Great experience here. Blew a spark plug about 40 miles out of Barstow and only halfway through a long road trip. Found some cheaper places in Barstow with good reviews but none that could see me same-day. Jeff at Mojave Ford was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. He explained--and then made good on his word--that folks passing through town get priority treatment. And it was priority indeed! I got there pretty close to opening, and the car was done before the day was half gone. They throw in a car wash for their customers for free, which was a nice bonus. Only giving 4 stars because it is a little more expensive than other shops in town, although I realize I probably paid part of that premium for priority service, and also because the WiFi was down in the waiting area. read more

This incident happened several months ago my 2007 Nissan broke down on the road on the way to my home in Las Vegas and towed to Barstow Fuel they indicated I needed a new retransmission. But I wanted to get a second opinion so, I called AAA California again, thinking the car was not drivable it was towed to Mojave Ford & Nissan on Monday again 2 more nights at Super 8 Motel. They could not look at the car had the courtesy shuttle take be back to the hotel. Another $120.00 to diagnostics testing. I was told that afternoon my car had something broken in the transmission it was overheating that it would take two weeks to get transmission in and replaced. I had planned to leave Barstow by bus or rent a truck with a hitch to get it back to Las Vegas on Tuesday Morning. The car started up drove it a couple blocks. Told the Dealership I was going to take my chances and drove 157 miles to Las Vegas. No problems with the transmission whatsoever. If you have a hiccup on the highway and your vehicle stalls and comes to a stop. Hope it not in Barstow, CA at Fuel Stop or Mojave Ford and Nissan. What a terrible experience... Still waiting for AAA Towing in California Courtesy Center to call me in reference to the damage done to my vehicle since it didn't need a transmission. I was sick after I saw the damage, but I thought the car was broke and that was the least of my problems. The AAA Club in Nevada suggested I call the manager of the maintenance shop to ask if it was going to be fixed by Fuel Stop. He again said no, they were not responsible. She worked very hard for us during, and even after the sell. The day after I purchased my truck I noticed my truck did not include a hitch sleeve adapter. The woman working the service counter has a rude and condescending attitude. Which is ironic, considering she lectured me about the catalytic converter warranty on my electric car. Electric cars do not have catalytic converters. This displays her ignorance to the most basic concepts of how motor vehicles operate. The root of the issue I experienced was surrounding a recall on my vehicle. I can understand that there are processes that must be followed as dictated by Ford. However, her astounding lack of customer service skills has resulted in Mojave losing a customer for life.
