They squeezed me in the same day, quickly diagnosed the problem, and replaced hoses and related components that were causing coolant to spray/leak. They did oil change on my car in July 2025. They treated me nicely and professionally. However, soon after I left this shop, I started hearing some ticking noise from underneath the car. When I arrived at the destination, I saw the splash shield dragging on the ground... Apparently they didn't tighten up when they finished oil change !!! It was already 7 pm and no repair shops were open. A couple of my friends came to fix it temporarily with some cable ties. As a result of Midas' poor service, I couldn't drive any more and had to cancel some activities with friends. Very, very disappointed and frustrated. read more

Not recommended. This shop takes advantage of people in emergency situations. We had issues with our truck on the way to Vegas, and since they are affiliated with AAA, the tow truck brought our vehicle here. They charged $210 just for a diagnostic, which took them two days, only to come back with an overpriced estimate for a transmission diagnostic. When we declined their service and asked for a day to arrange transportation for our truck, they told us that if we refused their service, they would move the truck outside the shop, and we would be solely responsible for it. Absolutely Terrible Experience at MIDAS - Do NOT Trust Them With Your Vehicle I had an awful experience at MIDAS and feel compelled to share this in hopes of saving someone else the same headache--or worse. I brought my wife's Mercedes in for a simple service, which somehow turned into a 2.5-hour ordeal. That's already absurd for a basic job, but it only gets worse from there. The technician who worked on the car, Anthony Woods, decided to do a tire rotation--on a Mercedes that specifically should not have its tires rotated due to the size difference between the front and rear tires. Any technician with experience should absolutely know better. This is basic knowledge for someone who claims to be a professional working on multiple types of vehicles. When I left the shop, the car immediately started making a terrible noise--something I'd never heard before. Turns out, it was a direct result of that unnecessary and incorrect tire rotation. I had to turn right back around and bring it back in. To make things worse, instead of inspecting the car right away after they messed it up, I was told I had to wait for Anthony to finish his lunch. Are you serious? I was sitting there waiting for a technician to finish his sandwich before he could fix a mistake he made. Then, when we expressed how serious this issue was, another technician actually said, "it's not a big deal." Excuse me? It's a huge deal. God forbid my wife had brought her car in alone and didn't notice the issue when leaving. She could've driven off in a compromised vehicle and something seriously bad could've happened--to her, to the car, or both. Now, every time she accelerates, there's a ridiculous, loud squeaking noise that was NEVER there before. Her car is not the same as it was before coming into your shop--and not in a good way. Your mistake has left us with lasting issues. This entire experience was absolutely unacceptable, unprofessional, and dangerous. I need someone higher up to contact me immediately. You messed up my wife's car, ignored the urgency of the situation, and treated us like it was no big deal. Well, it IS a big deal--and I will not let this go until it's addressed properly. read more

Because of Midas' poor decisions for repairs, I incurred over $5k+ in additional expenses. Attempted to resolve issues but Midas avoided inquiries. Made unnecessary repairs, used WRONG parts, incomplete repairs, charged 4x cost ($1k+) for spark plugs, & faulty workmanship all leading to engine malfunction that otherwise not have happened. Unbeknownst to me at the time, Midas sent me away with persisting issue. I broke down on the freeway after leaving the shop. I initiated California BAR investigation with complete findings, sued in Barstow Superior Court, & judgement awarded in my favor. Midas still has failed to compensate the judgement. They gave me a diagnostic for less than 100 bucks and were sympathetic when I said I'd just junk the car. They let me keep it in their lot while I went home and mailed them the pink slip. I'm lucky my wheels didn't lock up driving home (through the night with a small child in the car)!!! My mechanic at home ended up replacing my whole driveline - because Midas left me with spinning unoints. He said my truck should not have been on the road in that condition. Midas also tampered with my oil filter, causing me to leak oil all over my engine compartment... and running dangerously low oil levels driving home. For all this - they charged me over $800!!! My family and I got stuck in Barstow due to my vehicle's alternator not working this past Friday. So, it was towed to Midas nearby. I was super anxious because we needed to leave for home on Sunday. I called Midas on Saturday morning and alternately spoke to Karina and Amber who answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. Our car overheated on our way to Vegas and we had just had a tune up on our Lincoln Navigator! We were on our way to see our sons before football season started for them at UNLV. We immediately called AAA as we were stranded in the middle of the desert in 100+ degree heat with our dog who we never travel with but wanted to surprise our boys. AAA wanted to charge us over 1000 dollars to tow our car home because we weren't premium plus members. We will be upgrading to premium plus now btw. They will only tow you 100 miles per day. Tow truck guy informed us of a Midas repair shop and an enterprise rental shop right next door and we quickly reserved a rental car at an enterprise right next door. We had made a reservation for a rental car next door at enterprise and had a car on hold but they closed and never informed us. The Midas shop manager kindly looked up all surrounding rental car places and everything was closed in a Saturday and it wasn't even 2pm. We were stranded at this point. This Midas shop was incredible from the very beginning. Girl at front desk was so friendly and got us right in. Manager reassured us they would figure something out for us. Turns out one of our radiator hoses busted and were praying that it didn't crack our head gasket. So the guys at Midas went above and beyond and modified a part on our vehicle to get it running again. Checked everything to make sure the head gasket wasn't cracked and luckily it wasn't. In 2004 I went there to get a radiator flush and before I get to Von's my engine began to smoke. They DID NOT fill my radiator back up!!!! Flash forward 20x years later (2024) a friend recommended going back for a simple oil change which included all fluid checks. I found this a month later when my battery died. Additionally, the mechanic tried to scam me into replacing my brakes, which were brand new. Yet another mechanic trying to take advantage of a young woman! I went into a different Midas to clean the engine in Las Vegas and the mechanic seemed annoyed with me and did a terrible and barely noticeable job at cleaning it. Not only did it take two hours but when he finically finished, check engine light starts blinking and the same mechanic tried to charge me for the replacement part be broke. Not only that but this bozo tried to argue with me AFTER I'm discussing HIS mess up and decides to call the police on me. LOL. If u want it your money and time wasted, pull up to midas. Our truck was towed on 03/20/23 to Midas located at 660 W Main St Barstow, CA and we sat in their shop for over 5 hours for them to plug in to find the issue. We heard their mechanic state "he hates diesels" and that should have been our clue to not leave it there but we were at their mercy and they said they could fix it. Once diagnosed we left the truck for them to fix which was our first mistake. The job was too big for them so we had it towed out of Midas on 03/29/23 but only after they charged us $1,855.00 for labor hours. The lack of communication was wrong as they knew it was a big job. Their mechanic left the truck in complete disarray and parts just thrown back in the engine and loosened parts that they shouldn't have even touched. Their lack of judgement cost us more money to repair. We will NEVER use Midas again!!! read more

This is the worst place in Barstow to take your car. My cousin came through town and her car broke down they put an alternator in and parked her car in the front and told her it was ready she gets in and it didn't start. It was closing time and everyone left except one mechanic so he gave her a jump she came to my house and it didn't start back up that cost her over 700.00 dollars. I towed it back to them in the hi morning and they tell her she needs a battery another 250.00 dollars so she proceeded to go back home to Needles and the car stopped. She called them and they say bring it back and expected her to pay for the tow. This place is horrible and will be reported to all agencies. Do not take your car there! read more

The battery service light came on just outside of Barstow. We made it to Midas not knowing anything about the shop. The folks there located a new alternator and got it installed in a couple of hours. I've been having issues starting my car, and I believed it was my starter. I called Midas as they were opening, and Amber was immediately willing to help me. She was fast, helpful, and goes out of her way to make sure I was taken cared of. Midas was able to get me in quickly and replace my starter with no issues. Amber was up front with the costs from the beginning and it was true to the end. I would definitely return with the way how they make sure you are taken cared of. We highly recommend Midas on 660 W Main St. in Barstow, CA. On September 30 I was driving on Interstate 15 from Las Vegas to Fresno when the top of my 2012 Corvette convertible disconnected from the lock at the front of the car and was perpendicular to the highway. We pulled over to the side of the road and tried to reconnect the top but were unable to do so, so we had it towed to Midas. Ronnie met us and tried to help us get the top connected. I have unfortunately had to use five different repair shops in the town of Barstow. That being said, there are only two that I trust and would go to again. Midas is competent, super helpful, go the extra mile, and are friendly. The other one I would recommend is Barstow Car Clinic, and big surprise, they are both run by the same guy, Daniel, who will TOTALLY TAKE CARE OF YOU. These guys (and the awesome gals at the front desk!) are awesome, and I can't recommend them strongly enough. read more

I had car problems on the 4th of July (it got up to 112* or 114* that day in Barstow) and THIS AWESOME SHOP WAS OPEN THE NEXT DAY/Friday 07/05. I could not believe my luck that they were OPEN and taking customers. The kind soul who answered the phone, Ronny, was friendly and helpful. My pup and I waited in their AC lounge while the ~real hero's~ in the INFERNO out back went to check out my car. The sweet gal, Zoe, at the front desk was soooo considerate. She kept asking if my dog wanted more cold water, or if I needed anything, wanted to watch any tv. She even asked me before cleaning the shop floor, if I was bothered by the smell of "Pine Sol" as she didn't want to set anyone off, since it is such a strong smell. Who asks such thoughtful questions like that these days?? PEOPLE WHO ~CARE~ DO, that's who. Before this visit, I had never been to a Midas. Upon consulting with one of their incredible managers (?), *KICK-ASS KENNY,* about my unique situation and weighing my cost to time ratio, I decided it was in my better interest to get towed back home to San Diego. Kenny was completely upfront about a whole bunch of scenarios and is probably one of the most amazing human beings I have ever dealt with!! All the stars aligned at the end of the day, and among the brightest that made one of my darkest days brighter, a couple of angels named Ronny, Zoe and Kenny helped save me and my pup. I'm very skeptical of auto repair shops (I had an incredibly horrible experience recently at a Meineke in Las Vegas, for example), but was in a bind the other day: I was on a road trip and my alternator belt snapped five minutes away from Barstow. I had to get to work and had a couple more hours to drive, so this was very stressful. I called a few shops and no one could take me, but this Midas location said to come on by and that they had the part in stock. They quickly took my car in the back, did about an hour of labor, and charged what I considered to be a very reasonable price. I was out of there in about 75 minutes, total, and made it back home safely (and to work on time). Everyone there was fantastic and I highly recommend it. Midas Does OK work the people that work there is OK but they do try to get over and they have risen their prices my daughter goes there to get a oil change and ask them about what's the noise she hear in the car and they told her to leave it and they don't look at it they should explained everything when I go back to drop her off it was $197 to get the car that was a ridiculous price just to do a regular oil change and to check out the noise. Being that she is young they should explain to her there is a diagnostic fee and how much it will be.. If I was present none of that would've took place.. They have done work for me a lightbulb cost me $25 front brake pads cost me $100 read more

I had a great experience here. I purchased new tires and had a coolant flush done. They were able to get the tires I needed quickly at a fair price. I also had a coolant flush done for less then half of what they wanted to charge at the dealership. I was also able to get a ride home while my car was being serviced. read more
