We stumbled across this location a few weeks ago. It is very nice!!! There is a large outdoor seating area to listen to live music. They had two bands on this saturday. There is also a lot of parking. It is kind of an interesting set up. There is a vodka place right next to the brewery. Also, they have a rum shack on the other end of the outdoor area for tropical type drinks. On the Saturday that we were there, there was also a food truck. We will definitely be going back here. I was in Richmond for a conference and the brewery hosted a pop up market and a huge group I am in did a pottery swap too- John was thrilled with the beer stop while I was thrilled to get my art on! The inside was packed with patrons and local artisans, and the outside had more artists! The huge outdoor area had a stage and plenty of spread out seating. I was also grateful there was plenty of parking available! Not to mention a rum bar and a distillery attached- win win, triple win!!! read more

So after trying out two distilleries, I tried one of the breweries in Richmond I have not visited yet. There was a craft fair going on, so I had to park up the hill a little bit. First of all, major points for being dog friendly. A few people were sitting outside, then there was a sort of screened in area with some benches, and then inside was the serving area with the majority of the seating. They had some live acoustic guitar music going on, which I didn't expect on a Saturday in February. But inside the serving area, it was really dark. I tried the Waves of Grain, a red amber ale, which was super malty, I didn't care for that one. The Olaf's Revenge was a really enjoyable Double IPA, this would be my go to if I was to come back. Having a place to plug my phone in would have been appreciated, there were not any places to do that at all. I had a pretty good experience, it wasn't the best brewery I've ever visited, but it was still enjoyable. read more

I really like Main Line. It's situated along a railroad and connected to Cirrus Vodka. It's down the street from Hardywood and Castleburg breweries, so you could easily make a full day of the little area without getting in a car. Their outdoor area is vast, with a big stage that usually has a band playing, and a splattering of round tables - some of which have umbrellas - as well as some picnic tables. The indoor ambiance is nice too, with a wall of plants greeting you as you walk in. They have stickers to stand on while you wait in the draft line, which helps to streamline things. The staff is friendly too, and the drinks are affordable, especially if you do half pours. My first visit, I overcharged myself. I ordered two half pours and only saw one beer listed, so I asked for the other to be added -- then later realizing that they had just been combined into one full pour. Whoops. This time around, I had four half pours for just about $14 plus tip. Nice. The beers and seltzers vary. The margarita gose and the cherry on top seltzer are great. I haven't been as big of fans of the lemon and raspberry seltzers, but other friends at my table did enjoy them both. And that's the other main thing - this is an ideal place for a bigger group. All told, I enjoy my visits to Main Line. Just wish they'd add more umbrellas outside for the summer heat, but I understand that could be a hassle! read more

After visiting Cirrus we decided to check out the brewery since they share the same building. I couldn't get over how large this brewery is. So many seats inside and out. We visited on a day that started out cloudy with showers so the crowds were light. The live music was nice. We enjoyed trying several of the beers and liked them all. We had peanuts and potato chips to snack on. I can only imagine how lovely this venue would be on a warm summer night. The parking lot fills up quickly so parking can be an issue. Plenty of street parking but be prepared to walk. read more

I liked Main Line overall. It has a nice concept. It is a really chill spot to kick back and have a couple drinks with friends on a nice day outside. Haven't tried their beer, however I tried their vodka drinks as there is a "distillery" attached and the drinks were not bad and were worth it for the price. There was only one bartender for the distillery section when I was there and there was quite a line. Although she was awesome and did a great job handling the crowd, they might want to consider having more bartenders present making drinks for the busier times (Saturday afternoon/evening). Live music and cool ambience is what keeps this place popping though. Went on a Saturday with a group of friends. Plenty of tables for everyone to spread out. They had heaters available as well. There are two stages. One outside and one that is located inside of the taproom. There are several areas that you can choose to sit and despite it being busy we didn't have a problem finding our own area. Beers were tasty and if you don't like beer you can swing by Cirrus vodka right next door; they're attached. Dogs are allowed inside and outside which is a plus. Staff were super helpful with getting the heaters and fire pits going. I even saw them literally leaf blow the water off of tables and chairs for a group after the rain which was awesome and super sweet. When we went they had musicians playing on the stage in the taproom which was a lot of fun. Bistro lights are strung everywhere for a nice ambience and the room right off of the taproom has a lot of plants and open garage-style doors for fresh air. I will definitely be going back. We like this brewery for its huge outdoor space and Friday night Hippie Happy Hour. The beer however... not great. I don't drink but my boyfriend does and he tells me they are focused on seltzers. They don't have any non-alcoholic options on draft which makes me sad but I think they have a fridge with ginger ales and such. When it's warm outside it's great to come here and hear some tunes. It's tucked back in Scott's Addition or as it's also known, Brewer's Row. They have food trucks sometimes too. We almost always Uber but there is parking. read more

Basically attached to Cirrus Vodka, I decided to stop in after visiting Cirrus. I was unaware Main alone even existed but I it was a really cool space. We went on a Friday night where they had a small stage with live music and the band was taking requests. They had a really good selection of beer, all different types and they also had 3 craft seltzers. There were lots of tables and chairs as well as board games to play. The decorations inside were very cool as well. While this was a nice place to visit in January I think it could really shine in spring and summer when it gets nice out. There is a huge outdoor space that has plenty of yard games and a nice looking patio. I will definitely be coming back to this hidden gem as they had a sign offering trivia and it looks like they are adding lots of events read more

Amazing place with such a great selection of drinks! You can bring your furry friends inside the brewery too! The outside area is so awesome when they have live music, which is almost every day! They always have a few seltzers on tap as well as some amazing beers (the nightmare in paradise is my favorite). Cirrus Vodka is also right next door and they have liquor cocktail options for those that don't drink beer or seltzers. I get that's it a brewery but if you do not like craft beverages you're SOL! Which is a real shame because it's a great place to see bands on a nice day. You can go to the "Rum Shack" in the back of the property, but then you can't see the bands for all of the umbrellas. And it seems like there are only 2 types of service on property (including the brewery, Cirrus vodka distillery, and Rum Shack): either super friendly and slow or nasty attitude and fast. Definitely will wait until the bands that play there are playing at other venues so I can enjoy what I like to drink while watching them. And I won't even get in to their openly allowing people to break the law by smoking marijuana on property. read more

We happened to swing by the area to grab a drink at Cirrus Vodka, which we have never been before. We accidentally went through the breweries side and had no clue. We took a look at the available beers and nothing really spoke to us... so we moved on to Cirrus within the same building. We sat there to have a drink for a bit and the. Started chit chatting with who we found out is the Brewer for Main Line Brewery. He was super nice and even though he went to UVA haha... Hokies he made us interested in trying his beer. We ended up heading over to Main Line after our drinks at Cirrus and I have to be honest we were pleasantly surprised. Can't say they are beers that I would normally beer too but they were all quite tasty. The Olaf's Double IPA was surprisingly drinkable and I'm not an IPA drinker, not too hoppy quite mild which I enjoyed. The Honey Cream Ale was our favorite... it had a hint of honey just as it suggest, so delicious. There was also a Salted Caramel Drink by Night which was also good but I wished it had a saltier note. Overall we really enjoyed it, there were even some games available for the kids to play with. We will be back and glad we bumped into the brewer! Also the place was huge with tons of seating. I think this place will become more popular once the word is out. read more

I had heard about this place being opened near the diamond and was excited to check it out. It is an incredible venue, sitting on a really large piece of land. Upon entering, I was struck by the size of the place, big, open with a nice long bar. The beer is insanely good. The ipa's are smoothh and delicious. They also create hard seltzers that are delicious. The lady I was with had black cherry and I was worried she'd be unable to slow down her ravenous imbibing. When the band came out, they went up onto a large stage and started to really fill the place with great music (acoustics here rival any place I can think of in this genre). I'll be returning soon as I've heard they've booked a several great bands for the near future. read more

Here's the reality of this venue. You can't drink from both places in a shared space. You literally have to sit behind a walled in patio to drink cirrus vodka. If you'd like to venture outside the cement wall, you will be hounded by some dude to go back. If you'd like to have a beer or beverage from main line you can sit outside the wall. There is currently a couple sitting on opposite sides of the wall just to have drinks together. Be sure your group all wants to drink the same drinks. Pretty poor business plan. read more

Owners make minimal effort, staff makes some effort, but plenty customers nakedly aren't interested in mask compliance when in line for beer and no one corrects them. Sterling and crew have killed it with this newest brewery spot. Very spacious, kid and dog friendly. The hard seltzers are great would recommend either the mango or black cherry!
