First and last time at the Tin Pan. We paid $50 a piece for NYE tickets at the Tin Pan. The band (The Jangling Reinharts) were fantastic!! Tight band and amazing lead singer. The food and service, however- were awful. Our server was like a literal drill sergeant. Wanted us to order immediately (and kept asking) so she "could get ahead of the rush". (the whole room was going to be there for several hours and this was the only seating of the evening. NO need to rush us!) We watched her all evening stomping around looking super pissed off. Not one smile or pleasantry the whole time to us or any of the other guests she waited on. Quite off-putting. Meanwhile we saw servers in other areas being friendly and having fun while managing just fine. It was NYE after all! Try to lighten up a bit Sheesh! She was SOO intense. The food- Just yuck. And WAYYYY overpriced. (Limited menu offerings for NYE) The southwest chicken egg rolls were OK, as was our warm brownie sundae at the end (pretty hard to screw that up lol) - but the entrees were on par with Denny's quality. But at least at Denny's you get an actual plate! Not a beat up metal cafeteria tray- WTH??? Silverware was also old and beat up. Whiskey cream pasta was extremely overcooked, oily and bland AF. BBQ chicken pizza was cold BBQ sauce, cold chicken chunks, big chunks of raw onion, on a flatbread. We ate most of it as we were super hungry and on NYE you're just happy and grateful to be alive another year - not a time for complaints. And we certainly did not want to engage our server any more than necessary.

Great parking, easy seating and fast food service. Great staff and friendly and attentive servers. Good mocktails. The show was wonderful! The food left much to be desired. They require a $15 minimum of food and drink per guest plus 20% tip which the tip is no problem, we tip that and more if the service is great but I had saw some other reviews on food so I was cautious. My hubby got chicken tenders and fries with Sweet Chili sauce and I got loaded fries. What you see is what was finished. The atmosphere was great and the vibe was nice. We'll definitely go back. Hopefully find something better on the menu.

My buddy and I went to The Tin Pan for a concert last night and had a wonderful time! I reached out to venue staff prior to inquire about audio recording as the band has granted me access to do so. Kelli was very friendly and had everything all arranged when we arrived. Jesse was helpful when we checked in and our server, Bella was awesome!! The place was almost sold out but once you ordered your food and drinks, they arrived instantly! Wow!! Sound was excellent - Luke did a phenomenal job with the mix. Overall great vibes. Thank you to The Tin Pan for a very enjoyable evening.

Saw our first show last night at the Tin Pan and we're pleasantly surprised Older venue, not in top shape, though it was clean ( older sometimes = dirty, not the case here) Bathrooms showed the most age. Only 2 stalls in the women's room, so expect a line. Smaller capacity ~ 200 so it's more of an intimate evening with the performers which is nice. Sound was good which is important for a music venue. Very loud if you are close to the stage. Service was good, nothing spectacular but friendly and relatively quick considering server to patron ratio Food was bar quality, better than I expected since this is a music venue not restaurant ( though I think they deem themselves a supper club) FYI if you are a party of 2, you will most likely sit and eat with strangers as tables are for 4 (4) Service (3) Food~Taste/flavor/quality (0) Presentation (4) Atmosphere/vibe (4) Value

Nice venue but pretty uncomfortable seats. I would not recommend any of the food. I give it a rating of 2 at most.

"Walk a mile in their shoes......"…read more I decided to peer through the eyes of history and visit the Tuckahoe Plantation. I felt all the feels driving up the loooong drive to the plantation. I wondered how many slaves dreamed about what was on the "other side" of that long field. Many visitors pack in to see where Thomas Jefferson spent his childhood BUT I drove to see how the ancestors spent theirs (as this plantation tells the enslaved stories, as well). As I walked the curving path to see the schoolhouse, kitchen, enslaved quarters....I felt something (not the haunting that is said to be present) - i wondered about long sweltering summers in the field. I didn't need to peer inside the main house. I thought the archivists did a good job assembling historical facts about Thomas Jefferson and the enslaved. I didn't take the guided tour but I enjoyed what was open to see (people reside there - in both the main house and cabins - so not much to see).

You will pass a farm with chickens and gorgeous fields as you make you way to the stately Georgian styled home at the end of the road. There's a parking lot with an honor system box, $5 donation for the self- guided walking tour of the grounds. A map Is provided, and there are QR codes throughout this beautiful acreage. Should you want a guided tour of the main house and outbuildings, there are charges ranging from $5-$20, discounts for children, seniors and military. Call for reservations to be sure they are not hosting a private event. We were only interested in being outdoors! The plantation is open from 9-5 daily. This place is the perfect location for some fresh air therapy! We were enthralled by the various garden areas, the statuary, the arched groves, the arbors, the colonial design, and most of all, the spring flowers and trees in full bloom! We meandered through the rows of tulips, daffodils, poppies, hyacinths, snowdrops, candytuft, bluebells, and other colorful flowers, shrubs, bushes and plants. This not so secret garden was full of birds, with bird houses placed strategically at various spots. Flowering vines and trees were trained to make gorgeous arches. The maintenance of this amazing, historic estate is obviously painstakingly meticulous. We were completely enthralled with its beauty and understated grandeur. They allow photo shoots for exorbitant fees and by appointment only. You might want to try Maymont, etc. instead.

My fiancé and I booked an anniversary staysation at the Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa in Short Pump…read moreand were genuinely excited. The location was perfect and right across from the comedy show we were planning on attending. Plus, the hotel advertised amenities we were looking forward to indoor pool, onsite restaurant and bar, 24/7 room services so we didn't have to leave. Unfortunately, almost everything about our stay went downhill as soon as we checked-in After settling in and unpacking, our TV suddenly shut off and wouldn't turn back on. We tried troubleshooting ourselves before calling the front desk. A maintenance worker came up, tried a few things, and said he needed someone more senior. About, 30 minutes later a second technician arrived and spent over an hour trying to fix it, even replacing a cable box he said was just installed a couple weeks ago. Still no luck. He eventually told us that multiple rooms on the floor were dealing with the same issues, and we'd need to switch floors. While he was working, we asked about room service and menu recommendations only to find out room service does not run 24/7 anymore despite what the website says. He also learned the members floor happy hour no longer existed because the lounge was converted into a groom's suite for weddings. None of this was communicated online or at check-in. I went down to the front desk, and the staff member there was not friendly or helpful. Although she confirmed she received the call about our room, she never started the process of switching us because she "figured we'd want to stay until morning." As she started working on the room switch I also informed her of the wesite inaccuracey and she casually expalained these cahnges were being "piloted" and Hilton was waiting to see how much business was lost before updating the change online. She also brushed off the missing happy hour saying, "most hotels don't offer it anymore anyway since covid." I asked to speak to a manager and was told to wait in a different line. When he finally came, I explained everything again and asked how they planned on making this right. He told me he "had to look into it" and would call me in the morning. I even warned him that an entire floor would likely need room changes soon due to the outage, and he responded, "I doubt it, but I will deal with it if it happens." His attitude made me feel like I was the problem bringing up legitimate concerns while spending my hard-earned money at their hotel. We packed everything back up and moved to a lower floor. unfortunately, even that wasn't peaceful. The restaurant and bar were now closed, but many people were still hanging around drinking. Some were playing guitars and others were singing in the lobby with speakers and microphones, which could be heard on the next floor. Not horribly loud but definitely annoying after the night we already had. Apparently, noise rules don't apply in the lobby. The next day the manager called, and his solution to offer was $50 off our stay which wasn't even 10% of the cost we paid for those 3 days. No apology gesture, no meal voucher, nothing to make up for a ruined anniversary weekend. Just "well take $50 off" and that was that and hung up. We were hoping this could become our go-to-spot for future staycations since it was only about 2 hours away from us and we love the area and the convenience of the hotel to Richmond. However, this experience made it clear that won't happen. The lack of transparency, poor communication, dismissive attitude, and overall mismanagement were extremely disappointing. We will never stay at this location again, and I truly hope Hilton does better.
