I went to grab one of the things I needed and found it was locked??? We are in Centerville so why is a simple screwdriver set locked? Which was extremely aggravating as I was short on time with a restless toddler. But I needed the tool so I waited in the cashier line since there was no one else around to ask for help. When I got to the front I asked him to unlock the item. He said that he would help me, but is going to ring the lady out who was behind me first....strike 1 as I had been already waiting for a while and now he wants to help others who were behind me. He didn't even ask me if that would be alright with me. He rings the lady out, which was a water jug exchange. She asks him to take the new jug to the car. He tells me to wait "four seconds"as he takes the water to her car. Strike 2 Why couldn't that lady wait until he helped me? Clearly as a black woman in a predominantly white neighborhood it was very evident my time was not as important or important at all as this white woman's. I wait then a considerable amount of time until FINALLY other employees show up out the blue. I ask one of them if they can help me and he apprehensively with raised eyebrows goes "Okkkkayy, what do you need". Strike 3 The micro racial aggression is palpable at this point. Like no mention of an apology of the very clear fact there is no one around, I need help, and no ask if I had been waiting a while. Which I have but the cashier thought helping other people was more of a priority than helping me. On top of that the second item I needed was simply a power screwdriver which they don't have in stock. What kind of hardware store doesn't have that... Overall a terrible experience. Not going back. And finding more avenues to post this review and give 1 star for one of the worst customer service experiences I have had in my life.

If you use a gift cert and return an item, they insist on giving you another gift cert BUT you must provide your driver's license so they can tie yet ANOTHER gift cart when you walked into the store with a gift card!! Why can they NOT put your refund back on your OWN gift cert? All the staff says is they can't do it that way. WHY??? I also want to know what is Home Depot doing with customer's personal data and driver's licenses numbers, addresses, etc. How long is Home Depot keeping my data and how are they keeping it safe?? Guess customers don't need to know that and morale this is 1) Don't use a gift ceret unless you want your personal data invaded or 2) just don't shop there. the STAFF is unhelpful and have nasty attitudes.

The staff is always knowledgable about whatever you ask of them. This store always seems to have whatever I need. Some items are a little pricier than the big stores but I've also found many times their prices were cheaper than Lowes - and it is certainly worth the convenience of not having to drive to Huber Heights or Trotwood. This store and its staff are outstanding in every respect.
