She ignored me when I first arrived, talking to an elderly man and following him down an isle chatting.I wasn't inpatient. I waited and started browsing at some Shepard's hooks they seemed to have hundreds of. When she returned I asked her about the key, she made it, rang it up and waited on me to quit looking at anything I might have considered buying because she had already told me the total cost before I had a chance to buy anything else! Now , I have been here before and an older gentleman has always been kind and helpful to me. My 2 stars are for this woman who needs help with not chasing away future customers. I have money to spend lady, and you could've sold me one of those hooks for $29 bucks if you'd have just been a tad more pleasant. Now I don't really know if I want to go back and might consider just going to a Walmart for keys or hardware stuff. Not a good representative for this place whoever put her at the register!

I visited today to get a warranty replacement for my craftsman 1/4 socket wrench and the associate told me they did not have it in stock and stared at me until I left. He did not offer to order one or even to call nearby stores to keep me as a customer. I went to Lowe's and they replaced it with no hassle and kind words.

I've been a customer here for more than 25 years and I've always had excellent service and spot on accurate advice. They are under new ownership and have recently doubled their store space by making over the adjacent building. Here's an example of my experiences here: my wife bought a new microwave oven at an auction. We brought it home, took it out of the box, plugged it in and nothing. I took the cover off and discovered a blown fuse. I took the fuse to True Value and they said it was most likely a defective fuse rather than a problem with the microwave. They had a new fuse and when I plugged it in it worked just fine. They also rent equipment and when I've rented things they have all worked fine - like new. True Value - you get an A+! Only other thing I bought were 2 t-shirts; only $2 each! Lots of flowers available and looks like plenty of employees to help when needed.....nice to have this close by when something needed quickly!
