I am from Arizona and just stopped in here to check it out. One of the few bars that still allow smoking indoors. They carry a more than decent selection of seltzers and beers to please any pallet. If I could give zero stars I would. My friend asked something about an item on the menu, and the waiter said to literally read the menu. And then my friend asked if she could have tomato taken out of her sandwich (before ordering). The waiter said "No, we don't do that here". The fact that fast food can listen better that this establishment. My friend has sensory issues, she was wearing headphones to lower down the music (literally causing no one harm or disturbance), and was given weird looks from that same waiter. My friend is still deserving of having a good time, and this place did NOT deliver that. Everyone was rude for no reason. Don't waste your time or money here. Whenever I'm up in this area looking for a place to grab a meal, I always forget about Main Event, a pub & grill on 96th Street not to be confused with 82nd Street's Main Event Entertainment complex. Today, I finally drove down this way BEFORE making a decision about having a late lunch and decided to give the place a try. Main Event sits in a rather long strip center that also houses a Dunkin Donuts, Rita's Frozen Ices, and most recently added a new spot for Sweetie's Gourmet Treats. There's accessible parking almost directly in front of Main Event and a curb cut fairly close. The front door is a glass, 2-sided door that is fairly maneuverable from a wheelchair. You then have a bar area to the right with some more traditional tables toward the back. The only place that a person in a wheelchair could really dine here would be toward the back. There's also a gaming section to the left and a stage area for live music also toward the left. They are known for offering pay-per-view type events along with NFL Ticket games and other sporting events. I arrived about 2pm, well after the traditional lunch hour but it didn't seem to throw them off. Eryn, whom I believe was also working the bar, saw me quickly and visited my table with a friendly demeanor. I always feel weird sitting away from most customers, but most bars are not wheelchair friendly and, in all honesty, I'm not there to socialize. They have a fairly extensive menu, though it's definitely more of your usual pub & grill type sandwiches. I was tempted to try a breaded tenderloin on behalf of fellow Yelper Rick G., but opted for my usual burger. It comes with chips for $7 - you can upgrade to fries for another $1.50. I also ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. The ambience? It's a bar. Several people have mentioned the smoking. I have to be honest. Even as a non-smoker, I didn't even notice it. However, even recent reviews mention it's a smoking bar. So, I'll trust that's correct and advise you to act accordingly. I will note that probably only a dozen customers were in there at the time I visited - that may have made it more tolerable. There was background music that was audible but not overwhelming, while widescreen televisions were playing sporting events in the silence. I like the occasionally bar atmosphere and, quite honestly, I found it rather enjoyable. I've seen some reviews call this a "dive" bar. I honestly wouldn't call it a dive, though it's certainly a neighborhood bar. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to dine here, though I guess on this occasion I actually did. The burger was delivered as ordered and was a generous sized slab o' beef. It was cooked close to medium, not quite my preference, but the toasted bun made everything alright. I stuck with chips and enjoyed them quite a bit. The meal was definitely a solid value. My iced tea was refilled without my having to ask and I was given room to linger. While there's typically a modest delay when you dine at a table in a pub setting, Eryn was friendly and welcoming and I never felt forgotten. While it seemed like everyone else was drinking, I never felt out of place having a fairly traditional meal. Overall, this really worked for me. As a non-smoker, I wasn't bothered by the atmosphere but that could change with a bigger crowd. While seating options for a wheelchair are modestly limited and a bigger crowd may impact navigation, this is certainly an easily workable lunch option and I found those present to be pretty friendly to this stranger. This was what I was in the mood for and both Eryn and Main Event delivered a winning experience for me. If in the area, I'll definitely go back. read more

It is near our house, so we had high hopes it would be a good place to go, but we couldn't even barely make it through the door before turning around because of the smoking. I heard great things about this bar, however when I went it was definitely the opposite. As my two friends and I entered the bar we received weird looks as though we weren't welcomed. When we took a seat at an open table, no waiter/ waitress came to greet us. It was our first time so, I went to ask a worker at the bar if I could order there and she looked at me with an attitude, rolled her eyes and rudely said a waitress will come. After waiting 10 more minutes a waitress came and asked for our IDs and what we wanted to drink. My friend asked for a menu and the waitress told her she didn't have one... The place seems remodeled to me. Very nice and updated. The experience we had last night was so fun. The basketball game is so fun. We got a ton of drinks the only thing I would say is the shots are a little overpriced in most cases the mixed drinks were more affordable. The temperature inside was nice and comfortable. The food was good. We both had the philly steak sandwich with fries. The sandwich was delicious needed a little more meat for the large bun but I would order again. The fries were just ok. Spent money playing a song on TouchTunes and bartender shut machine off halfway through song, trying to close up as quick as possible. As expensive as TouchTunes is and how important it is for a bar to keep patrons, I was disappointed, being a "regular" and being treated this way. I've actually spent a decent amount of time at this place mostly due to friends that enjoy it. Having a bar you can smoke in is cool, food is great but the ownership is a joke. He treats his servers like servants and even went so far as to forbid them from drinking there even off the clock. Controlling much? I got into a disagreement with the owner due to this oh idk maybe two years ago? No worries, moved past it. Well I was there the other day and when I went to close, realized I left my wallet at home. I panicked but luckily the sweet bartender knows me and said I could pay her later. Next day before I even woke up I had a message from my bartender stating I could not drink there again because I've "had issues with the owner" in the past. I guess sticking up for my friends and service people is too much. He's a joke and doesn't deserve to own this place. Karaoke was the purpose of my visit. The plan was to stay from 10 pm -12 am. I showed up early. I handed my playlist to Toby, the karaoke DJ. I ordered my glass of red wine. Two glasses by the end of the night. Water in the mix of the evening. I was the good closer of the evening today. The last song I sang was Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue. You want to have a threesome with my sister and I? Sure. How about a foursome? No. We had that threesome, on stage. Cranberries, linger playing. I told them my secrets, bared it all, and by the end of the night, one said, I don't know what you're talking about. I did a few solos. I collaborated on a few duets. I danced, when the crowd I hung out with all night noticed me and invited me over to join them. I learned about an audition I should do. A headshot I should create. A radio show I should start calling in on to tell them how I feel. I smoked cigarettes, they were everywhere. It's an inside smoking bar. I met another t-shirt brand entrepreneur. I shared my secrets about the current Constitution I have for this country. I am not ready to be a good President of the good United States today. read more

I was shocked to see a 4 star rating before I walked into Main Event. Last time I came to this bar was about 8 months ago and it was a total dump. But this place seems to be taking a turn for the better and I'm more than happy to toss in a 4 star. The entire place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the laid back environment was what my friends and I like. There are two billiards tables, two dart boards, and some video games too. I can picture the space getting a little tight if the place was packed, but the time and day I went, it was pretty empty. There are bars on both sides, but only taps on one side. The only major draw back of this place for me was that there's still smoking allowed since the property is outside of Indianapolis and Marion County. The smoke doesn't bother me, but I know I won't be able to get my girlfriend to come here because of it and I'm sure that's what will keep others away as well. I've never ordered food here and I'm sure it will be a while before I do, but the big plus for me were the drink specials. This place has College Town cheap specials, which is HUGE when all I want is to play a few games of pool and hav a few drinks. I paid $3 for a 32 ounce mug, and right down the street just an hour before I paid $5 at Bubba's. If you don't mind the smoke and you're looking for a cheap place to drink to hangout, this place is a go to. First visit review. Positive: great service! We split egg/bacon/cheeseburger and tenderloin with fries. Burger was good, egg hard to find. Tenderloin was extra, extra crispy... so were the fries. Beer was delish!! Negative: smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette!! We immediately took our jackets back to the car to avoid a dry cleaning bill. I travel a lot for work and when I stay in Fishers, there's not many places that are open late enough for me. The place I used to go to changed their hours, but I was happy to find this place as a great substitute. First, they're the only place I can find in the Indianapolis area to offer my bourbon of choice (Old Fo). Their late night menu is decent; the fried macaroni and jalapeño poppers are good and their BBQ chicken pizza is a great late-night option. The main reason I give this place such a high rating is the bartender Kayla. She's phenomenal with customers. She remembered my name after just one visit and made the recommendation of the BBQ chicken pizza. I'm most impressed because I watched her handle a very difficult customer extremely well. The customer was somewhat rude and abnormal to say the least (she literally yelled "aaaargh" like a pirate when she was leaving her seat). Countless times she yelled across the bar for Kayla's attention and would interrupt her when she was tending to other guests. Nonetheless, Kayla witnessed her stumbling as she was about to leave and suggested she call an Uber in a rather tactful and kind way. The customer was too intoxicated to use her phone, so she called the lift service for her and at one point almost used her personal device to do so because the customer's app was locking her out. She waited around for the Uber and helped the customer into the vehicle. 5 stars for outstanding service and keeping others safe. It's what every bartender should do but often fail for countless reasons. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in town for work. read more

Will never EVER come here ever again! The service is awful and will wait forever for someone to order drinks and food. Heard good things about this place from friends. I notice here guys get better service than women and don't see a lot of women here mostly men. The servers and bartenders are really rude. My friends and I were getting frustrating when people next to us was getting better service than us. The girls just looked at my table and ignore us when we were ready to order drinks and food. My friends and I had to keep getting the servers and bartenders attention so we can get a drink and something to eat. The servers and bartenders were getting really catty with us and decided to leave. Went to Ale's instead and their service was way better and servers were friendlier. The owner needs to teach their servers and bartenders better customer service and how to do their job right. read more

One word: Horrible. We ordered food from this bar a couple years ago and the fish and burgers were wonderful. They must have changed owners since then because the fish is horrible. The burger was okay but got cold because I had to go back and pick up my order of mushrooms they forgot to make but charged me for. The mushrooms were tasteless and tasted like they were fried in the same oil as the fish. The potato chips and fries were way too salty. The horseradish sauce was sub par. The onion rings were too oily and mushy. The hushpuppies were small, overcooked, and average tasting. Granted this is a nasty smelling smokey-filled bar but some of the best food I've had has come from bars. Sadly I won't be back to this place. read more

Came to watch football on Monday night because I don't have ESPN. Didn't realize this was a smoking bar or we probably would have chosen somewhere else. Service was okay. The menu specifically said beer battered fries, so I ordered them, all excited... those were definitely not beer battered fries which was SUPER disappointing. Great little neighborhood bar atmosphere. Service was fantastic. Jenny was a great bartender and when I switched my tab over to Erika it was a seamless transition. They have karaoke on Fridays and the show is pretty great. I've seen some bands there also and they always have great food all the way until 2am.
