It's been years since I've been here, but we wanted breakfast and most places were closed for Labor Day. We chose a booth next to some rowdy young people who had probably been up all night (oh, to be young again) and were having a great time. I wish I'd caught the waitresses name because she was great. I had the White Flag - 2 over easy eggs, bacon, and sourdough toast. The eggs were perfect and there were at least 5 slices of bacon. The coffee was great, too. You will find this spot on the outskirts of downtown. I have driven by this place many times and always wondered what it was. So I decided to stop in. It was a trendy, yet hole-in-the wall bar. The bar caters to the LBGTQ+ community and as tastefully decorated with rainbow flags all over. They have their own small private parking lot and there is metered street parking available as well. There is a small, but adequate dining area there with booths and tables. There is also a full bar with seating available. you will find a small patio area out front and there is a huge outdoor fenced in and covered patio area area in the back, known as The Backyard, just off the parking lot. ` The bar serves beer, wine and has a full service bar with a few signature cocktails. It was open seating and I sat at bar seating just off of the main bar. The bartender/server took a little warming up. But once she got going, she was very friendly. You could tell that the bar had a bunch of regulars there because she knew everyone else by name. They serve breakfast and have a lunch/dinner menu that include wraps, burgers, salads, sandwiches, and apps. I opted for the sloppy Joe with a side of fries. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. It was fresh and hot. I never had or even though of getting a sloppy joe with sliced pickles on it, but that is how this one came. Somehow it worked though and was pretty good. The fries were good as well. This bar has been around for over 20 years and has special nights where that host events such as drag shows, open mics, trivia nights, piano bar, corn hole tournaments, and karaoke. They always have something going on, most of which happens in the Summer, at their Backyard patio. The is a neat and fun little hole in the wall that has a lot of personality. Went here on a whim, and it's been several years since the last time. Sad because they used to be open 24 hrs. They have always been known for their chicken tenders and they are still so good! In a city where most places close early, we should be thankful for Downtown Olly's for opening late. I like it's located right off the highway and it has its own parking lot, though not big. It celebrates LGBTQ+ community not only during pride month but all year long. This was my second time visiting, and It was hard to pick what to eat as they have a big menu. I recommend their sloppy tots. It's unique-never seen it anywhere else. It was addicting. Finally! Some quality late night food in Indy open until 3am. This is such a cute little place with string lights decorating the interior, fun music, and awesome upbeat servers. The home fries and tater tots were fantastic. The World Cup Omelette came out looking like a million bucks, but the chicken sandwich looked a little sad next to it with sparse tater tots. Walking in, there is no signs showing that they break ada. In fact, their banner out front makes it seem like a very inclusive place to be for lgbtqa and disabled queer people. However upon walking in with my cardiac alert dog for pots with ptsd training as well, I was promptly told we were not welcome. I was told despite the fact I need her to live, we would not be welcome and they would not provide service to us. Both of these are breaking ada: Establishments that sell or prepare food must generally allow service animals in public areas even if state or local health codes prohibit animals on the premises. People with disabilities who use service animals cannot be isolated from other patrons, treated less favorably than other patrons, or charged fees that are not charged to other patrons without animals. I haven't had much food there, but the entire menu is very affordable and parking is available in a lot and across the street. I always have a great time at trivia there. Actually, it's a great 24-hour bar and restaurant, but I seem to only make it in there in the wee hours after closing down whatever other establishment I've been patronizing for the evening. It is located in the 800 block of North Illinois Street. There is a small private parking area along the south side of the building and wrapping around behind. The front wall of the building consists primarily of floor-to-ceiling windows facing east out on to Illinois Street. The large square bar dominates the interior space although there is a small area of booths and other seating scattered throughout. The lighting is dim and the ambient noise tends to be loud. The decor and ambiance can best be described as eclectic. The menu is comprehensive with lists of appetizers; salads; entrees that include steak, chicken, pasta, and fish dishes; burgers and sandwiches; pizzas; sides; a range of breakfast choices; and more. The full bar offers alcoholic beverages from 7 a.m. until 3 a.m. In my experience the service has always been prompt, friendly, and efficient and the food consistently marvelous. Know that Olly's serves adults only and is definitely not a family restaurant. What it is is a quirky, offbeat, alternative establishment that I sincerely recommend you visit. read more

I also don't normally order fried food, but the fried green tomatoes and breaded mushrooms here are delicious AND fried to perfection. The Black & Bleu salad was my choice. Again....delicious. Kat took care of us at the bar. They didn't have Squirt so she made me the best Paloma with fresh grapefruit juice, club soda, fresh lime and tequila. Excellent service, ambiance and music. I would put the steak up against any local steakhouse cooked to perfection and lotta flavor. Shrimp were on a skewer and we're perfectly done. Their menu is endless. A great place to go for a late night snack. Tonight Tuesday night is also jazz night with a live jazz group and singers. Very well presented and performed. Once the sun goes down the whole staff starts to do drugs, customer service goes out the door, and it's their way or the highway. This place is really good, and is open later than most places that offer takeout/delivery. The food makes the delivery trip and still is hot/warm and super good. My most recent order, I got the shrimp basket with a side of onion rings and my partner ordered their club sandwich. While my basket was all one color (yay fried food), it was immediately apparent that they hand bread all their fried products, and the house breading is really good. It travelled better than most fried food and I was very happy with the order. My partner loved his club sandwich, the bread was crispy and no sogginess had occurred during transport. 12.21.19 3am. the food was terrible. unbeknownst to me the table sitting across from us had ordered wings and they were not cooked thoroughly . i would not have ordered them if i knew this! my own wings were cooked but they had barely any seasoning and i had to ask for extra several times. my friend received a wet sandwich on soggy bread. she specifically asked the server if the ham was country thick and was told yes. it was actually thin slices of deli ham The service was okay despite it being busy and a lot of upset impatient customers. sadly i had just received blah food from a bar hours before & hoped this would satisfy my wing craving. I wasn't expecting to enjoy this meal as much as we did! I have heard several mixed reviews about the food here, including reading previous Yelp reviews, and was very pleasantly surprised! The food arrived well packaged and still warm. My husband and I both ordered the Country Fried Tenderloin. The gravy was tasty and the tenderloin was flavorful, although maybe a bit salty. But it's fried so that that's to be expected! The potatoes were basic but good--not my favorite, not my least favorite. The biscuit was delicious; I made a little sandwich with the tenderloin, gravy, and biscuit that was very good. I also ordered an order of the pretzel sticks that I'll be taking to lunch tomorrow. But I did give them a sample and they were tasty too! I would definitely order an extra sauce next time though as the portion of sauce provided is very small. My husband ordered the sloppy tots and he said they were delicious! I got to try a bite and I'd have to agree! I'd even want to try their sloppy joe sandwich in the future!
