My first and last visit. We were 8 adults here for the birthday of someone in our party. We started with bowling, which was fine overall but no one ever came to see if we wanted food. So then we went to order food - which was not cheap for 8 adults. It was mediocre at best and it took an extremely long time to come out. We had 6 of 8 meals and someone had to go ask about our last 2 meals - they were just sitting in the warming window with no staff paying attention. Then we moved on to arcade games. About 20% of the games on the floor were completely out of service. About half of the games we swiped our card in took our credits but didn't let us play. As adults we settled on the Wizard of Oz coin pusher eventually. I play a lot of these at different places and my experience is they rarely break down. The units here were breaking down every 10 minutes on average. We had to have the poor employee (who was fantastic!!) come out at least 10 times to fix the machine. We were using between 1 and 4 units at a time. The employee let us know the problem was there's not enough coins, so the machine runs out and then breaks down. How cheap do you have to be, Main Event, that you put your guests and employees through this? Get more coins! We will not be coming back here. The one star is for the employees, who were all helpful and nice. read more

All You Can Play Laser Tag For $7 Is A Win WIth Kids And Adults! We tend to come for the all you can play laser tag for $7 that is during certain days and hours but seems like most of the time to me... The laser tag room is 2 floors and a nice spot to play. Well planned for sure. The only bummer is the equipment could use more maintenance. When you tell the people working the counter your equipment doesn't work they tell you to put it back on the rack for the next person instead of tagging and bagging it for repair.... The have good pool tables and shuffleboards too of course, and bowling which I haven't done in a decade or so... Lol... The food menu is pretty typical bar food so we don't usually get food here. Do not go here!! It used to be awesome but not not anymore. Try amazing jakes or fat cats. Most the games are broken but still take your money. The games are charging more than ever to play. We blew thru 500 credits in 30 minutes. The staff does not care and will not refund your money. 3 hour wait for bowling and we finally gave up and left. Gilbert is becoming a ghetto dump. Let me start by saying that main event is a cool place to go, but Donovan (the incredibly talented and awesome bartender) is literally the sole reason I keep coming back to this establishment. He's literally so welcoming and vibrant, it instantly puts me in a good mood. He has an uncanny ability to make everyone around him feel seen, heard, and valued. Went here on a 2-20-22, worst costumer service, the place was dirty, half of the games was not working. Employees chatting with each other instead of doing their jobs. Overpriced , and if you don't have at least 1000 tickets forget about getting something good, one candy you need a ticket of 250, for a gummy sushi. I want to like it. The games are fine. Bowling is nice but the "all you can play" passes are a joke. $15 + $4.25 for an hour of bowling. Long wait times for Lazer tag. A complete BS two hour wait for ropes course and there are literally zero people on it for the last half hour. Video games end up costing $2 each and last less than a minute for kids. Me and my girlfriend went to this establishment to play the arcade games, half of them did not work either they would take our credits and would not start or half of them were out of service, not to mention the service. Me and my girlfriend were standing at the register in the gift shop with no attendee until we said something. The worse part of it was we purchased a pair of toy handcuffs for our kids and she put them on as a joke, when we went to take them off both keys snapped easily and there was no safety latch on them to get them off, forcing me to cut them off with bolt cutter. If I could leave zero stars I would. After sitting for 25 minutes and flagging down staff members to server us ; we were left unattended. Tables behind us who were there before us waited what seemed like forever too. But luckily they were able to get a server. As the server was done with the two tables order, we were trying to get his attention. But instead he turned into a glass room leaving our kid's dreams of being fed empty-handed. I honestly debating writing this review as I have worked in the service industry for many years now but I have never experienced anything like tonight. To start things off I had to hunt down a server as we were already 30 minutes into our 1hr of bowling and when she finally did come around it turned out that she was the server who had the bowling lane in the same bay and blatantly ignored us on multiple occasions. I understanding being busy, overwhelmed, in the weeds, ect. but to not as so much introduce herself let us and let us know that she'll be back shortly or even offer some waters 30 MINUTES into our game is mind boggling. Not to mention when we finally did get our food and drink orders in and they arrived she gave us no utensils, no napkins, no plates while our bay partners had all of the above. I had to again hunt down someone to get us plates and retrieve napkins and silverware from a nearby server station myself. To top everything off, our server comes around with fresh waters to everyone around us while ours were empty with nothing but ice left. All in all I enjoy coming to Main Event as there's lots to do here but will be apprehensive about returning as we were left hungry, hung out to dry and to fend for ourselves for most of our stay. so i went to main event today and i first took a stop at the bathroom and saw this one random kid that was cool, then i wanted to try the hurricane simulator but the screen wasn't looking the best. saw this cool girl on the guitar hero machine and then i saw a fire extinguisher it looked tempting. so my day at main event was alright the food was average the games were expensive to play it costed 8.3 points to play like every game basically its overall average. read more

Outside of a pandemic, I would have loved this place and said that it's a fun Chuck-E-Cheese for adults. I'm hesitant to recommend it now because I feel like it could have done a lot better in enforcing social distancing and promoting cleanliness. There were bottles of hand sanitizer all over the place, but the majority were empty when we were there. I didn't notice any significant cleaning of highly touched surfaces either. Still, I had a really good time bowling there with my family last weekend. The wings and fries were delicious and I liked that they offer cocktails in their menu. I will definitely be visiting again once the pandemic is over and I feel more comfortable being around so many maskless people. read more

If you're expecting to go bowing with an "unlimited bowling" promotion, don't!! My girlfriend, myself and 2 kids went bowling Sunday 2/28 at 6pm. We were told it was unlimited. Sounded good. We bowled one game for an hour and the lane shut off. Scroll on monitor said "Due to wait for bowling, you must leave your lane and put name on waiting list". This was NEVER said to us at all. Went to front desk. Girl apologized for not explaining policy but she would not refund or credit us due to company policy. We waited 55 more minutes on Wait List until we finally gave up and went home. I understand it's policy but it's a shady policy. First off, employees need re-training so that they can speak confidently about policy (unless maybe they're uncomfortable with this policy?). Second, it's a shady policy. What Main Event wants to do is charge as many people as possible for unlimited bowling and then "rotate" them so they can maximize profits. What most places do is have a first come, first serve policy. We payed over $10/person for sunday night bowling of one game. I know for a fact that Brunswick offers $2.75 per game. Shame on you Main Event. You're greediness cost you a customer who has supported Main Event with countless birthday parties and weekend fundays with his children. Won't happen again. Mainly a disappointment. Got there before noon so we got the discount $15 wrist bands. From there it was a sub-prime event. The bowling alley lane we were on was unsafe. Their were divots in the approach. Dangerous - especially for kids. I pointed them out - only to be told by a young employee, "all the lanes have those." Our biggest issue, aside from the location being incredibly musty smelling while not being full at all, was the "reloadable" fun cards - and the absolute SHAM their promises are. Huge sign when you walk in... "Download our app and we'll match your first reload up to $50" So, I asked for clarification. The young lady behind the counter couldn't tell me ONE thing about it. She said, "They just put that display out, but we (employees) don't know anything about it really." This was VERBATIM. We bought a fun card. When I went to reload it...I asked a "manager" for help. That guy told me the EXACT same thing. He had no clue how the program works, but if we follow the instructions, it should be just fine. And...it didn't. We loaded $50 onto the card and we got NOTHING added in terms of matching credits. When I went back to ask the manager for help (maybe he could just add them for us?) - he flatly told me to "call the hotline number on the back of the card." I'm like, "You have so many issues they have a hotline already to help people?! Why are you even running this deal??!!" Manager's response - "Sorry buddy, just call the hotline, we can't help you." Alrighty then!!!! My wife was thinking of signing our kids up for the summer pass. Fat chance of that. My bank has a challenge now from me for those charges, and we'll never be on their doorstep again. Lesson learned. Avoid this place like COVID. read more

If I could give this place less than one star I would. We started "unlimited bowling" for $7.99. There were 7 of us and we had 2 lanes. Second bowling round in, we were told that our time was up and we had to leave the lanes because there were "birthday parties that needed these lanes". As we counted, 9-10 lanes were open and available, yet we were placed on a "waitlist" while our lanes would be taken. We were told it'd be an hour before we could bowl again. That is not "unlimited bowling". We were 7 rounds into our second game with a personal family bet and the lanes shut down on us. Management needs to realize how wrong this is. We did not pay for that. We ordered drinks and food and had to up and leave. We will never go back. All of us left more than discouraged. This place is horrible. Do not go there because they do shady stuff. Also, they told us to come back at 2pm for our "waitlisted timeframe" for return to bowl. We were told we would get a text when the time was available.No one ever contacted us to come back. Never again. read more

Half the games didn't work. No basketballs, no air hockey pucks, some the games screens were cracked/black. Lost about have my credits thinking some games were working, when they actually didn't. Experience was very fun but ruined by the unprofessional behavior of employees and what I believe to be managers. My grand babies were playing laser tag and all the employees helping with laser tag and those in the room where you get the prizes were cussing and using very vulgar language. Do not plan a birthday party here!!! Our first issue arose after booking the party (and sending out the birthday party invitations). They ask the whole party to arrive 15 minutes early so as to not miss play time... which does not start until first swipe of the card anyhow. I had to contact every parent to change times. I asked for a 12 hour extension to confirm party size as I was waiting on a few RSVP's. They declined my request but would be happy to add as many guests as I wanted even upon arrival, mind you, all that was needed was plus or minus a few slices of pizza and a drink cup. Apparently they needed 3 days for this extensive planning. Onto the pizza... we were told their would be two slices per person! That was for kids only... no pizza for the two adults paying the hefty party price!!! Poor service, we often had to refill kiddo drinks ourselves. Party was booked for 3 hours. Unfortunately they kick you out of your table after two hours to make room for the next party (as we left there was still an unused table or two). Had to move 15 drinks, presents, bags, etc to the bowling area. If you book a round of laser tag make sure you feel the price point is worth less than ten minutes of actual play time. No solid games for younger siblings! I started this review with 2 stars, as I'm reliving it I've decided 1 star is plenty. Ahhh, almost forgot the nearly $40.00 in good 'ol service fees bringing a party of 12 kiddos close to $400! Party was for ten year olds, they all agreed that Jake's Unlimited is way better! We actually came here for a private event through HopeKids. It was wonderful and so sweet of them to accommodate! My kids had such a wonderful time! They loved all the arcade games and the entire atmosphere! Their favorite part was the bowling! It was extremely family friendly and such a fun time for everyone! This event was pre Covid and during Halloween for a private event, but I do believe they still deserve a 5 star review even though this was last year! We treasured those moments! This place gets five stars because of how nice the bowling lanes are. It is well taken care of, all the balls are organized to weight on the racks. And they have hole sizes on the balls so if you have fat fingers like me, you can use a ball lighter than a 15! Sweet! The lanes are also nice and private. You have lots of room to move around and you don't have to worry about having anyone around you wrecking your good times. Our server was a slim guy who's name I forgot. I'm sorry because I wanted to mention him personally. He did a very good job and was super friendly. We were very well taken care of throughout our stay. Drinks were tasty and the food was good. We had wings and fries and it was a good sized snack for two adults and a child. We even tried coming back again but there was a long wait because of leagues.
