This is a mix between a family bowling alley and an alley for serious bowlers. The lanes are usually oiled consistently but not always. There's an arcade for kids but most other family type bowling alleys have far better arcades. Pitchers of beer are $16. Not terrible but not cheap. The food is ok but a little expensive. My uncle a Desert Storm Veteran who's disabled goes and supports his friends playing and always orders food for the lane. He went to the register to order and the girl asked what lane he was bowling and he said it lane X but he wasn't bowling but ordering for everyone who's playing and she stated "Well that's a problem, your not actively bowling we won't serve you (food not alcohol-he doesn't drink) then he went back to the lane and who ever was active manager came and asked him to please leave he was no longer welcome. We are talking about a veteran who can barely climb 3 steps with shoulder issues, diabetic, so frail he'd be knocked over by the wind in a monsoon. Deeply disappointed my uncle was treated with such disrespect. AMF is this how you treat the elderly and elderly veterans? We celebrated our daughter's 15th bday with this facility. I can not express my gratitude and thanks with just 5 stars...We told the staff it was a surprise and they delivered an amazing surprise experience. We had the best time and the food....WAS AMAZING! The whole experience exceeded my expectations and it was worth every penny spent. I look forward to celebrating many more things here. We felt like we were apart of family with the AMF experience overall. My daughter and her friends had a great time and we, as parents, had an amazing time watching them laugh and eat the amazing food. We had pizza, mozz sticks, tater tots and chicken tenders. I have nothing else but compliments for this place. Everyone here is wonderful and helpful. I did interact with different people, different shifts. Made no difference. Service was top-notch. I love this alley, i got the summer pass and have been going almost every day for a couple of weeks. The people there are always pleasant, the other bowlers are super nice and it's easy to get a lane and go bowling. I almost never eat there but the pizza looks very good. I always get a pitcher of water which is free. The lanes are nice. read more

Went to this AMF to have a date night with my wife, we went up playing at 9 PM for the deal on weekdays. Ended up playing 5 games with the barrier getting stuck a couple times but Scott specifically was being really helpful in getting it unstuck as well as another employee telling us how to fix it. Avoid this place at all costs. This establishment is obviously not taking COVID seriously. I've been to a few bowling alleys since the COVID restrictions have been lifted and all have great policies- masks on unless your at your lane, every other lane is in use, employees are masked up and friendly, generally just a safe environment. Every. Single. Employee. Is. Wearing. Their. Mask. Wrong. Under their nose. When I asked if they had any mask policies, they said no. They allowed people in without a mask, and did not require one inside. Which directly violates the state mandate. Plus, tables are sticky. Never saw anyone wipe down a bowling ball or a table or anything. I stayed only because my party had already paid. I kept my mask on the whole time. AMF- you need to either shut down or follow the rules. This is ridiculous. Rude employees who don't clean or follow state required mandates. I will be reporting this to the state authorities. I recommend Bowlero instead of this place. They have great policies and will be kind and clean. read more

Let me start by saying I've been bowling amf lanes for the better part of 15 years. In all my years of bowling at these I've never ran into a manager that's a piece of work like Kevin. Multiple times through out my time here I had my ball get stuck in the back and politely asked Kevin to have it recovered, his responses were unapologetically rude every time. During my time here the ally was not remotely busy and he surely wasn't either. Kevin sits up on his perch on some power trip. I come out to have a good time and it's hard to do so when when management comes off as such an ass. This one star is specifically for Kevin the manager. Amf as an establishment is great. My son and I have been going here all summer, at least once a week, for his high school class, and have really enjoyed it. We got summer passes, which are well worth it. The place itself is pretty no frills and nothing fancy. But the staff has been super helpful. They get busy, so plan accordingly. They're especially busy on Monday and Wednesday evenings for league nights (a lot of the lanes are reserved for the leagues). We go on Tuesdays or Thursdays and have better luck getting a lane right away. We haven't had the food, but they have a decent bar selection and the usual beers. read more

The process of getting a new lane was difficult. We had people join and just wanted to reserve the empty lane next to ours but they said we can try and that if it gets busy, we'd have to consolidate to 1 lane (even though we had 7 total people which exceeds their lane limit). After paying over $180 for bowling and shoe rentals (7 shoe rentals, 17 games), I was charged another $91 hours after I had left the alley. Ensure you double check your charges. I'm not great at bowling, but I know enough to be competitive and enjoy myself. And I know how much fun it can be when you're with good friends and company. The only thing that could possibly make this better, is where you choose to bowl. The AMF Bowling Center in Mesa is definitely one of those places. In this day and age, with all the competition out there for your entertainment dollars, namely the multi-tainment centers, it's nice to see a classic place step up their game. We ended up in Mesa while out celebrating my girlfriend's brother's birthday. This isn't your father's smokey alley. Walking in on a Friday night didn't leave that awkward feeling you get on league nights, as if you walked into a private club. The music and sound system are excellent. The food and drinks are above average. The computer interface is simple. The rates are really good too (after 8 on a Friday night). The shoes are actually kinda cool too! Needless to say, we had a blast! Compared to the rates at another Mesa alley, AMF wins this battle. read more

Horribly neglected. This is by far the dirtiest and most poorly maintained bowling alley I have been to. The balls are all filthy and severely damaged. They all have gashes and chips in them, like they were dropped out of a moving truck on a freeway. Not an inviting environment and is unreasonably expensive. 2 people playing 1 game cost about $30- plus $15 for every additional game. Kevin is so awesome! We love coming to this alley, we have league here every week and the customer service here is amazing! We are always taken care of in the best way. Kevin always knows my shoe size and clears our table when it gets even a little cluttered. He is warm and friendly and likes to make us laugh. We have a great time bowling here and I love to bring friends and family. I really like that the glasses are always clean when we order drinks from the bar. Everyone wears there mask in the areas they are supposed to so I feel safe. It's clean and the tables are a nice distance away from the lanes. We recently ventured to this location after trying many different spots to have a great game of bowling, without all the bells and whistles that can be used to upcharge a simple game. Here is the breakdown... Front Desk: The staff was really nice to us as we walked in, and greeted us promptly. We brought in an energy drink, and she politely told us we couldn't have it in, but to go ahead and drink it anyway. Not many places are flexible, and this immediately put us at ease. The manager was nice, and gave us the Military discount, so don't forget to ask! Lanes: Now, the lanes do seem to be outdated. The videos in between frames seemed to be from the early 90's. I really wish this was updated. I know it's trivial, but the little things count when I go out. Yes, the approach was dirty, and the ball return did not work a couple times. But this is to be expected with some heavy use. We didn't run into any issues with maintenance, so no comment can be made. Drinks/Food: Now, we didn't order any food, but we did get a couple drinks from the bar. I ordered a beer, which was just fine. The glass was chilled, THANK YOU, and no issues there. But we did order the giant margarita drink, and both of the twins I was with agreed that it was overly sweet. We had to continually add water in order to make it less sugary. Overall: We are glad we came to this location, the staff truly make a difference. We are currently looking into bowling leagues there, which are a great deal! This place is very outdated and in poor condition. Poor restroom facilities, terrible grill and bowling facilities often breakdown. I overheard a guest ask about why the pinsetters keep breaking down. The employee explained it happens because it is too expensive to keep them repaired. No pro shop either. This place is also overpriced. Try Fat Cats on Baseline and Greenfield. Much newer and very affordable with other amenities as well. read more

The location charges a Covid-19 admin fee! What is that?! Secondly they offer a Wednesday evening all you can bowl special for about $15. I had a free T-mobile Tuesday game to utilize as well. We really couldn't decide how many games and the gentleman said you can just pay at the end. Once we go to pay I asked if we could just do the special. The guy at the counter tells me no. You had to decide that at the beginning and it won't let me change it in the system. 4 games and shoes were $30. Totally ripped us off. We won't be back. Horrible customer service. I have been a loyal guest here for almost two years, bowling almost daily. I normally have a great time. The management team and the bartenders, and really everyone is great. Except for Jenny, who I believe is the Regional/ General Manager. She is rarely at this location and when she was here on 9/3 and 9/4 she treated me and my friends who were bowling so rude. If the mission statement is to strive to be a world-class provider of delightful guest experiences and the number one priority is to make the guest experience the best. In fact one of the job descriptions for a General Manager ensure teams are efficient and the center experience is of the highest caliber. Guess what, Jenny doesn't do that! Saturday my friends were bowling next to me, one on each side. When a ball didn't return. So we looked for someone at the desk there was no one there. We looked at the snack bar and again no one there. I walked down to the office door and knocked and walked back to bowl. I threw one ball and turned around and Jenny was standing behind me. No smile, no friendly greeting. Instead she loudly says "What do you want, Kelli" wow...customer service would be nice. I stated "I don't need anything, he does" she turns and walks toward my friend and doesn't say how can I help you or hey what's going on. She just looks at him, he tells her he needs his ball. She never says a word she radios it to Adam and walks away. This is not a great guest experience! My friends each said she was rude and couldn't believe her attitude. She knows my name because she knows I am a loyal guest. Then on Sunday when I arrive I see that Jenny is parked in the handicap space closest to the entrance. She does not have a handicap placard. I notice that the other spaces were taken and a car in the general parking with a handicap placard. This again is not ensuring the guest are delighted! So I notify the local police. They come and issue a ticket to her. She sees the ticket on her window and you would think she would move her car so that someone who needs the parking can use it, but that would mean she would have to care. She leaves her car there the rest of the night. Again not the best experience for the handicap person who had to park further away because of Jenny. I noticed that unlike the night before when she mainly stayed in the office the whole night that she was in the snack bar for a while with her long hair down, no hair net, no cap, and she was wearing shorts and sandals, which are not very safe and I would think not in the dress code. I have never seen any employee wear shorts and sandals. But here is Jenny the Regional General Manager showing her team that she is above all the rules. She is out of dress code, she parks in handicap spaces, she is rude to guest. The team knew that was her car. She clearly does not care that her team is watching her behave in ways which she would write them up for. But yet she does this. This does not provide a dynamic workplace. Instead it shows team members that she believes because of her title she can do these things. The maintenance of the building is part of her responsibility yet the ball return areas are held together with duct tape, I even had to ask for duct tape when my ball kept falling out of the ball holder. The two nights I was there you could not get a lid for your drink or a straw or a napkin and they were out of limes at the bar. This again is not a great guest experience. I had asked Jenny over a year ago if the ladies restroom could have a trash can in each stall so there could be a place to dispose of sanitary items, because people were leaving used sanitary items on the floor, in the seat protector holder, or flushing them. No trash can was ever provided. The restroom has missing floor tile and part of a pipe sticking up from the floor and it is a tripping hazard. The stalls don't lock. The air conditioning doesn't seem to work in all of the alley, it is really hot in there, people bring in their own portable fans to keep cool. The lights outside half are burned out. Bar stools are ripped and torn. The ceiling is covered in black dust. There is not enough staff to fix these issues or Jenny doesn't care if the center looks rundown, she is rarely there. "Who we are stems from how we act" is a core value of AMF/Bowlero. Because of Jenny and Jenny alone. I will no longer bowl there. I will take my business to another non AMF or Bowlero Center. I bowled my last summer pass game on Monday. read more

The staff at AMF Lanes could not be beat. I attended a work function of 12 employees and Brittney and Dallys made sure we got settled quickly. The ladies managed the entire bowling alley it seemed. Our 2 hour Groupon flew by and they extended our time without additional payment. They also were super prompt with the many pitchers of beer that we ordered. Our pizza order got lost in the shuffle but not to worry as they comply our pizza due to the long wait. Before we left they made sure we had all the upcoming dead and specials.
