I am in Woodstock for work, and a colleague suggested I give this place a try. What an awesome…read moreplace! There is an outside patio, and a large open interior space - definitely a bit of a biergarden feel to it. You go to the bar to order your food and drinks, and tell the server where you are sitting. They then bring the food out to you. Let's talk about the food! More specifically, let's talk about the poutine! I'm not Canadian, but I have had poutine before - and theirs might be the best I have ever had. The gravy was amazing, you could tell they add beer when they are making it. I also tried their regular cheeseburger - cooked perfectly, juicy, and delicious. If I hadn't had the poutine, I'd give it high marks for the burger alone. Don't sleep on this place, it's great. Now, I don't consume alcohol, so I can't comment on the quality of their beer - but my work colleague said it was very good. I did try their vanilla soda - and it was really good. High marks all around!

April 23/2023: This was a 100% low to mediocre meal…read more The place was busy but not jammed. it seemed to be a low end family restaurant. It was a "seat yourself", order your food & pick up your own drinks brewpub. The server themselves seemed to be doing little except deliver your food & clear the tables. My food was the TexMex Nacho Wrap ($17.00) w waffle fries. It SHOULD have been piping hot cause it took 45 minutes for us to get our food!! Instead, it was lukewarm with not much taste to it to boot! This was disappointing as the menu (attached) LOOKED very nice but the food disappointed. Our server(s) were less then polite & it kinda turned me off from the get go. As a seasoned restaurant goer...go somewhere else...this wasn't good. To the restaurant owner(s)...do a better job for crying out loud!

Location/Service Stumbled upon this place while doing a day…read moretrip. This spot is right by the river with patio setup in the summer. Inside is very big and can accommodate large groups (best to reserve in advance). You can also sit by the bar if you like. Typical bar and grill setup - I like the little pieces of decor to spruce up the vibe. Staff were very nice, I'd really like the bartender who gave recommendations for first timers and explain the menu. Food Menu has a lot of typical bar & grill items, but with a Newfoundland twists since it's Newfoundland style. So definitely try dishes that are more known on the east end - like Newfie Fries, Lobsters, Cod au Gratin, Newfie Steak Dinner. The steak is a maple leaf bologna and not you're typical meat - more of the saltier and drier side. Newfie fries is a type of dressing that uses bread crumbs and yellow onions - again more of the saltier side, but it matches quite well with gravy as a poutine. Food pricing overall is very standard and not overly expensive. Portion sizes were very generous, had to pack it to go. Overall a good find if you're in the neighbourhood and traveling, great to explore and learn more about Newfoundland food.

Everything was very good. I ordered the loaded smoked brisket that was really large and tasty. Everyone else ordered pulled pork, crispy chicken sandwich, black bean burger without the roll, reddy burger, Caesar salad and the child's burger. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Would definitely stop here again if passing through. The restaurant is located on a cute street surrounded by shops and across from a small park.

After our last experience the 6 of us and our families will NEVER go back again! We even tried to speak to the owner and he was just as disrespectful!!!! NEVER AGAIN! 6 of us went for dinner, the waiter was rude to several if us. Told us to "hurry up with our order because he had other things to do", our meals came out messed up, missing things and burnt, 2 peoples meal didn't even get cooked because they forgot about them, the waiter gave me my meal over cooked and missing onions, then after I stuck my used for on my plate, I asked if i could get my missing onions on the side and he said "no, give me your plate, that's someone else's order" I said, no this is my order its just missing onions, but he insisted I give it to him like really aggressively and took my plate PAST the kitchen and over to the bar side of the restaurant where he obviously served it to another customer! 3 out of 4 of us had burnt food on our plates and the other 2 never got their food. We left without eating or paying and came back the next day to talk to the owner and pay for the 6 drinks and one salad that we did have. The owner defended the waiter and was rude to us as well. He didn't care about our experience, only getting money for the burnt grose food we never touched. He forced us to pay a $143 bill which included the 6 drinks and 1 salad that we did eat/drink AS WELL AS the grose food that no one touched AND the meals for the 2 people that never came to the table because they didn't cook their food. Since the owner didn't care about anything but his money and causing a scene I'm the crowded restaurant, we paid the $143 bill and left. They lost loyal, 10 year, excellent tipping customers. None of us will ever go back as long as its owned by Victor.
