Gord and I had a late lunch this afternoon at the Cobblestone Public House in Paris, ON. Gord had a small Caesar salad and I had Chicken Curry. Both were good. There was a bit of heat to my curry, which was nice, and the raita was refreshing. Thanks, Kelly!

Great food, great atmosphere but terrible service. Our apps and meal all came at the same time and our server was very abrupt and rude. The however was delicious and the restaurant it's is a great place to watch a game and relax.

It was the Friday of Labour Day weekend, and Lee and I were heading across to Michigan. We decided to have a late lunch/early dinner so we didn't have to figure out something mid drive. We had stopped to pick up some cash while at the bank in town, and I cast about for a likely looking dinner spot. This came up as being well reviewed, so we decided to give it a shot. It's more or less your typical small town pub, a little bit gentrified with a nice atmosphere: lots of dark wood, large bar, and so on. We were led to a small table, and it looks like we'd gotten there just before the dinner rush. We started off with some Buffalo Chicken Cheese Balls, which were pretty tasty: Think of a cross between chicken wing dip and a mozzarella stick, in spherical form. It was Friday, so they had a Fisherman's Platter special: perch, haddock, and fries. The perch was the best part, from the lake, dusted in cornmeal, and nicely fried. The haddock was beer battered and a little bit on the greasy side. Lee got some pork schnitzel, which he enjoyed. Service was a bit slow, particularly once the dinner rush came on, but we had no real complaints. Overall a good place to stop when you're in the area.

Chicken Club with a Twist and Veggie burger. So good!

Fantastic service, delicious food and scenic view of the river. Great experience overall.

    Perogie combo with onion rings

Came here right when it opened for the lunch hour. Ordered a perogie combo (comes with five perogies and your choice of side - I got onion rings) and it was pretty good. It comes with a good amount of cheese, which was great. The onion rings are exactly what you would expect (nothing fancy). Our server was nice, and the food came out pretty quick.

Wings are always great and plenty of beer options. A little crowded but a great pub option if that's what you're looking for.

Servers were friendly. Service too slow. Burger overcooked and dry. Overall OK but would not go back.

I am in Woodstock for work, and a colleague suggested I give this place a try. What an awesome…read moreplace! There is an outside patio, and a large open interior space - definitely a bit of a biergarden feel to it. You go to the bar to order your food and drinks, and tell the server where you are sitting. They then bring the food out to you. Let's talk about the food! More specifically, let's talk about the poutine! I'm not Canadian, but I have had poutine before - and theirs might be the best I have ever had. The gravy was amazing, you could tell they add beer when they are making it. I also tried their regular cheeseburger - cooked perfectly, juicy, and delicious. If I hadn't had the poutine, I'd give it high marks for the burger alone. Don't sleep on this place, it's great. Now, I don't consume alcohol, so I can't comment on the quality of their beer - but my work colleague said it was very good. I did try their vanilla soda - and it was really good. High marks all around!

It was a "seat yourself", order your food & pick up your own drinks brewpub. The server themselves seemed to be doing little except deliver your food & clear the tables. My food was the TexMex Nacho Wrap ($17.00) w waffle fries. It SHOULD have been piping hot cause it took 45 minutes for us to get our food!! Instead, it was lukewarm with not much taste to it to boot! This was disappointing as the menu (attached) LOOKED very nice but the food disappointed. Our server(s) were less then polite & it kinda turned me off from the get go. As a seasoned restaurant goer...go somewhere else...this wasn't good. To the restaurant owner(s)...do a better job for crying out loud!

And I found all of the staff really friendly and lovely. My sister had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The tomato soup was made on site. Absolutely delicious. However, it was required that you order a beverage in order to get this deal; I had settled on Ginger Ale as my beverage, and Tomato Soup as my side. In terms of the Ginger Ale, it tasted watered-down, and was a difficult drink to enjoy, because it mostly tasted like water. The Burger was actually very delicious, and tasted juicy and fresh, and it was quite large as well. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that it hardly had any toppings on it, and we had to add our own ketchup and mustard (which were on the table already). For my side, I had asked if I could have the Tomato Soup as I really love Tomato Soup, and was excited to see that it was on the menu. They had said that they would ask in the back if it was possible to have it with the Burger Deal. When they said that it was fine, it definitely made my day! However, upon tasting the soup, I was severely disappointed, as the menu clearly stated that the soup was 'homemade', which clearly, it was not. I've tasted soup out of the can that was much better then what I was served, and vowed that I wouldn't be ordering any type of soup from this restaurant in the future. Although the Burger was quite delicious, I wasn't too happy with the Tomato Soup, or the Ginger Ale, and felt that my money wasn't spent well on these items. ATMOSPHERE: This restaurant was situated in a busy plaza, however, at the time that we had gone, it wasn't too busy at all as it was midday during the week. We noticed that there weren't too many people in the restaurant, and the ambiance was quiet as there were no sports games showing on the television. The restaurant itself was quite spacious, with enough room between each of the tables, and ample room for us to move our chairs in and out while being comfortable. The décor on the walls was reminiscent of a typical English pub, with pictures of London, and other items related to sports. SERVICE: When we had arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted by a kind, younger woman, who directed us to a table of our choosing. She then came over and gave us menus, and told us about the specials for the day. We found that the service was great, as the woman came over as we were eating to see how we were doing, and was quite polite during our entire stay. We noticed that there were a few other servers as well doing the same thing with other tables, which was comforting to see. Great service all around for sure! COST: 1 Burger Deal: $5.00 (Includes Burger & Side) + 1 Beverage (Ginger Ale): $2.25 + Tax = $8.19 WOULD YOU RETURN? In all honesty, although the atmosphere and service were great for a British pub, the food didn't measure up, and it just wasn't worth the money that we put into it.
