The people before us had not completed many of the spring cleaning type of activities plus we did some remodeling, so need less to say we knew it wasn't going to be a normal cleaning. I told them over the phone the situation and the said that will be fine but it will be extra $25. When the cleaning crew(2 of them didn't speak a word of English) showed up I walked them through the house pointing out each and every area I wanted cleaned. Once we reviewed the house they asked for $150 more than what I was quoted on the phone. I called the company and they said the charge would be $250 based on my specifications. I had to leave to work while my mother came to watch over. When my mother would point out items that were not cleaned properly the lady would talk back and told her to do it herself. Once I came back from work and saw what was completed I called the company immediately complained. Jessica picked up the phone and told me to send pictures of what was not cleaned. Said she will try her best to work something out. Next day I called back and she said I would have to wait for the "owner" to come back to Dallas as she is currently overseas she said she will check the availability of one of the other cleaning crews. A day later I called back and then the tone changed saying the pictures I sent don't show any dirt which they clearly do. I mentioned over the phone that the areas I was showing were not even touched at all (inside kitchen cabinets, tub, shower, above the kitchen cabinet, blinds and etc...).. Then I was told these areas are not on the list, to witch I stated I know that's why I paid $100 more to ensure these items are taken care of. Make a longer story shorter they would not respond and asked me to stop calling. All I wanted was for a crew to come out and clean what I paid for. Even though we were the first appointment, they arrived 50 minutes after the start time but completed it within that window of time. Just be ready to wait around 1-2 hours prior or after your scheduled appointment. I spoke to someone there who explained all that to me after our initial appointment had to be cancelled because the tech left the premises after he arrived almost 2 hours early. I was willing to try again, because they acknowledged the situation and communicated with me via text/phone. 2) if your front door is really far from the location of cleaning, you'll want to make sure with them that their hoses will reach; luckily our office had a back door (again, didn't realize it would be an issue until they showed up). I never wanted to write this update in my Yelp in hopes of it being resolved, but I'm also adding this to the Google review to spare others the headache and heartache we experienced. My original review was positive because we hadn't truly seen/looked close up at the things we had asked to have done and when we did oh were we disappointed but figured one or two things no biggie. Then we went to paint areas and add new bulbs and one after another we were finding things not cleaned like we asked. Again, excuse after excuse. So, needless to say I had to do an update. Here are the excuses I heard from Lashawn the owner (tired, wasn't feeling well, it was her teams fault, had to fire the two people who helped her, mom was in hospital, mom passed away, I'll pay you when I get back in town from my mom passing away etc). I realized without warning others I would never get this resolved and didn't believe in the company's integrity any longer. I ended up requesting a mere $300 refund when I was told by so many others that I really should have asked for a majority of it back. I wish to be kind but I'm literally having to "re"-clean so many areas of this house that Lashawn said would be done, that were half or not done at all. We were moving into a house that needed a Deep Clean & our only desire was to move into a clean and sanitized home with no issues. Initially I looked superficially because I trusted Lashawn at her word and was so excited over the smell of cleaning supplies. I feel taken! I will provide pictures and video of the issues we had. Blinds and windowsills were left dirty, top of the kitchen cabinets had a thick layer of dirt and dust obviously from the previous owners who lived here 30 years and clearly hadn't cleaned and I'm not honestly sure that Lashawn and her team really did either. Despite specific requests and confirmation, NONE of the light fixtures or ceiling fans were cleaned. I reached out immediately to Lashawn and was simply looking for her to come back and make it right. Slowly (due to her lack of response) I started receiving the excuses as to why she couldn't come back or blaming her team for the halfway completed job. Since there were so many supposed obstacles for her to come back, this is when I decided to ask for the $300 refund ($200 tip, $100 cleaning). Lashawn agreed but has not followed through. One of the ways that she said she would ensure this doesn't happen to anyone in the future was to fire her two employees that helped her clean our home. Unfortunately as is per usual when you tell a lie, it's hard to keep up with whom you've told what and I think she forgot that she introduced them to me as her daughter and son-in-law. On her Facebook, they clearly haven't been fired and are shown in her jobs since the one she did on our home. Maybe what she did with my home is her standard of clean, but I just can't get past all the lying as well as the simple fact that we had agreed certain things would be done and those specific things weren't done whatsoever. First, I feel guilty having someone else clean my house even if I am paying them. I feel this way about other services, too, like pedicures. It also makes me feel weird to have someone I don't know in my house. Finally, I didn't like paying someone to do something for me that I could easily do myself. It felt wasteful. EVEN THOUGH I AM LAZY AND NOT GOOD AT CLEANING. Mess Masters is owned by Sara. She came to our house and gave an estimate and explained how everything would work. They use natural, eco-safe products and require you to provide some of the supplies. They have several different options for cleaning. It's not cheap, but I don't think it's expensive either. The price depends on how often you clean and how big your house is. Also, they do one deep clean the first time since you probably don't clean as well as they do. I have never lived in a place as clean as my house after Maria cleans it. Maria is the best, and she is also very nice. She does little extra things sometimes and surprises us. This just makes me happy. I still feel guilty, but the guilt is less when I walk around my hard wood floors and I don't have pieces of dirt sticking to my feet. The floors are so clean they squeak! I love Mess Masters; they are very easy to work with and do a fantastic job. Unfortunately, Mess Masters does not currently clean north of 635 or in high rise buildings. They have been very flexible with us during home remodeling projects and let us move our cleanings around.
