I would stop by a place close to here and would always smell the aroma of the food and that's what caught my attention. Finally ordered what's shown and it was all really good. Inside was nice, clean, and provided comfortable seating. The hostess was nice even with my online order & it's worth noting how many times they have been voted the best on the island. The food here is very flavorful and well portioned! There aren't too many options in the area and being able to call ahead and miss the lines was what sealed the deal. Honestly if not for the cheap and slightly burnt beef they use for the Pad Thai, this would be a 5/5 stop in an unexpected location. But, even with that, expect a very solid 4/5 meal! I really loved the chowmein. One of the best tasting chowmein I ever had. But on the other hand fried rice was pretty average. All starters were tasty but oily. The food was good and the service was good. The only thing is it took a long time to get our food. Over 30 min for fried rice and drunken noodles. The dining area wasn't super busy, but maybe they had a lot of pick up orders? It kinda felt like our orders got lost for awhile. You order and pay first and they bring it out to you. read more

My husband and I tried this place for the first time and we were blown away! We started with the crab rangoons and steamed pot stickers, and both were delicious. For our main dishes, I had the yellow curry (light spice) and my husband ordered the beef pho with level 4 spice. Everything tasted absolutely amazing easily a 10/10 across the board. We're originally from California and have tried plenty of Thai food spots, but this place completely exceeded our expectations. The service was just as great as the food. The lovely woman who helped us gave excellent recommendations, was so friendly, and really made us feel welcome as first-time guests. The restaurant itself was very clean and had a cozy, comfortable atmosphere to enjoy our meal. We left happy, full, and already planning our next visit (probably next week!). I got my food delivered by doordash. GREAT. GOOGLY. MOOGLY. My dasher reported a 15min-ish wait time, which I see in a lot of reviews, but it is Absolutely worth it. I just annihilated half of my container of pad thai (there's so much food, that's all I could eat on an empty stomach! You're gettin two meals out of this!) and. My god. That was some good stuff. I got mine with chicken as always and it was so ridiculously good - it soaked up all the sauce. I also got the fried gyoza/potstickers. I thought it was gonna be just crispy on the edges but nah, it was deep fried. Not complaining, though. Those things are delicious - and the sauce they come with totally elevates it. 10/10, would go there again, and highly recommend that you go, too. Came in about 4 in the afternoon. It was super quiet and only 1 other customer. The front counter lady was super nice and directed us to sit anywhere we like. The restaurant is super clean and well kept up. The bathroom is pretty clean as well. The food was great! If I were to critique anything it'd be the spicy levels. 5 happens to be the top hotness, and it was much. Thankfully they have hot sauce on the tables. We spent the day on Whidbey Island and wanted to find a great spot for lunch. We settled on Mai Thai and I am so glad we did! Our food was hot, delicious, the portions were huge, and the prices are fantastic! The employees were incredibly friendly and the restaurant was clean and looked nice and new. Looks like a pretty good size restaurant. Service was ok. Nothing stood out other than walking around the counter to give us our food. Unfortunately, when it was time for our pot luck and we opened our dish, it was Beef Broccoli instead of what we asked for when we called, Basil Eggplant. We were so disappointed. Delicious Thai food!! We had a large to go order which we sent through online. Pad Thai, drunken noodles, Thai fried rice, green curry, panang Curry, spring rolls, lemon grass, and garlic stir fry. We also got an assortment of meat: chicken, pork and beef. I would recommend all of it! The curry is definitely soupy but very flavorful. Online it said the order would be ready in 10 minutes but it took closer to 40 minutes, which was fine because we weren't in a hurry but maybe call after you place the order to get an accurate time. There is inside seating if you want to dine in but very simple inside, nothing special but functional. It has been a while since my last visit and I decided to stop by today while walking around. My favorite Thai dish is Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice, but I decided to try something different this visit. After studying the menu, I opted for Chicken Kung-Pao. When asked for my desired spice level I responded with "5" while silently wishing they offered a 10-scale. Oh well. After I placed my order, I was given a little number placard to place on my table and I set off to choose a table to sit at. I waited about 5 minutes for my order and was not disappointed with the food. It was still steaming when the server placed it in front of me (you can just barely see the steam in my photo). The Kung-Pao didn't compare to the Pineapple Fried Rice, but it was still very tasty and I enjoyed every bite. And even though I was limited to a level 5 spice it still encouraged my sinus to get a little runny and I felt a small bite from the spice, now and then. I very much enjoy my visits to Oak Harbor Mai Thai and look forward to my next meal here. I highly encourage anyone to stop in and enjoy their marvelous food. read more

The good arrived very quickly and was great! We had a Thai iced tea, crab rangoons, Tom Kah soup and pad Thai. Everything was great, and we had leftovers. After my parents told me Oak Harbor had a new Thai restaurant, I had to go. My go-to was 123 Thai but the last time I went there, my meal was not like it used to be. No flavor, tasteless. Good food, poor service. Front end management caused 100% on why it is only 3 stars. They say 20 minutes, expect the food 45 minutes to 1 hour. Never take the word of front end when they promise your food. This place is constantly busy on nights but they cannot keep up with their own orders resulting in extremely poor service. Time is ticking on reducing this rating while I am waiting for my order. Currently they said food should be ready at 5:30 when my food should have been ready at 5:10. It is now 5:30, every 10 minutes additional time I wait will be another star removed from this rating so you get the picture of how long it takes with the false promises on times that will be ready. read more

We ordered our usual, Thai Basil chicken, and while eating our food we came across the NAIL in our food with the hook on it!!! I'm so disgusted and can't even eat Mai Thai ever again. I can't believe this. I'm sick to my stomach and can't fathom how this happened. Mai Thai do better for many reasons. This is not okay and absolutely unsanitary and disgusting!!! So not okay and up to food standards. The sad part is the manager Scarlet confirmed it was a Nail from their shelf where the utensils are held. I can't believe it. Just ate here earlier today and liked everything about the place. The staff, all that we enacted with were super nice and responsive to our requests. The food was excellent and the portions were, if not the perfect size, a little on the large size. The restaurant has that brand new look and smell but I'm not sure how long ago it opened. The parking, which must be to code appeared a little on the small side but we had no trouble finding a spot and getting in and out of the lot. One special note is that there appears to be only one unisex restroom (didn't look for a second when I found the first and maybe only) and the floor inside the room was wet either from wet hand needing to get to an opposite wall for the paper towels or "splashes made by man"..... I will assume it's wet hands so I can sleep tonight. The 3 people that were with me all expressed how much they liked it and thanked me for the selection. read more
