I am a fan!! I've been driving to Buford to get my nails done lately, but on this particular day, I just didn't have time to make the 30 minute haul. My daughter and I had decided to check out a new place, and I'm glad I did. This is a family owned business, and they clearly strive to make a good impression. The man who did my nails really took his time, and 2 1/2 weeks later they are still looking amazing. He told me if I had any chip or any lift of my nail to come back and he would take care of it. He even said I could bring my dog in the salon as well. That's always a plus, because my dog likes to go everywhere. Prices are reasonable, and I really felt that the quality was on point as well. I'm so glad I came across this salon and I'll definitely be back. This is now my go to nail salon!

Came here from Atlanta for the good reviews. I noticed that the tools were not sterilized so I OPTED out of the manicure mid works. (Not sterilized meaning, the tools used on the feet from the previous client that was there when I was, was retrieved and placed into the sterile tool bag. The sterile tool bag was in its crisp opened form with the stick still protected. ) I don't think the lady understood me but continued after wiping the tips of the tools with a COTTON swab and alcohol. Either way I got charged for a separate manicure price with choppy cuticles. The lady's are nice but the quality of the work is not worth the price they charged me. They seem to rush you in and out. They did put nice effort into the Nail shape I wanted which I appreciate. Wouldn't come back.

As always, the only people I trust with my nails and toes! I am a nurse and currently off from work. So I was excited to get these long nails with SNS on top. You can't go wrong with white :) They required you to wear your mask at all time and clean the station after every client. They also check your temperature when you come in. It's best to make appointment!

It was holiday season and we had a wait and they let us have sparkles for free only because we had to wait and it was holiday season

One time it was holiday time and we had scheduled a appointment for 12 o,clock and we waited 1 more hour. They finally got to us and were very nice about it they said we are so busy in holiday time we will let you pick sparkles and they let us have the sparkles free for waiting and beacause it was holiday time they sometimes take a long time to clean up and make us wait longer than expected when they are busy but they are not usually busy unless it is holiday time so overall they are pretty nice and good

Amazing place! The service is incredible. I came the other day 20 minutes before they closed, and they graciously welcomed me. They gave me SNS nails and a deluxe pedicure - both highly recommended! My nails are so beautiful - the exact, manageable length I wanted, perfect gradient, SUPER natural finish. I am usually weary of SNS / acrylic nails because I don't want them to look fake. These are beautiful and classic. My pedicure looks beautiful as well and was very relaxing. If you're around, I recommend Mai nails! (Nails look even better in person!)

As always, the only people I trust with my nails and toes! I am a nurse and currently off from work. So I was excited to get these long nails with SNS on top. You can't go wrong with white :) They required you to wear your mask at all time and clean the station after every client. They also check your temperature when you come in. I always have the best experience here. I love getting my Sns nails here. They do an excellent job and are very meticulous. My sns nails last a good 3-4 weeks and still look amazing. I would recommend calling and making an appointment ahead of time since they can get busy at certain hours. They aren't a large salon and are family owned. Come here if you want quality nails and great service. read more

I found this gem in Johns Creek and I am so happy now that I found a place that actually knows how to do sns nails. They are a small family business and they truly focus on customer service! Listen up, I go here religiously!! Every 2 weeks I am sitting here getting my nails done. The ladies here are fabulous. They pay attention to detail and cater to your needs. They make sure you are happy with your nails. Also they care to inform you how to maintain healthy nails. What's good, what's bad for your nails. Any time someone asks me if I know a nail place I direct them to Mai Nails. When friends come visit from out of town I bring them here. Great atmosphere and service. read more

I'm going to the beach and finally decided to get a pedicure for the first time since the pandemic started last February. The salon is so clean, and everyone (staff and customers) wears masks, along with gloves for the staff. Vincent settled me in a chair, while Katie took care of my pedicure (she did an excellent job smoothing my rough feet and trimming my dragon talon toenails). Kaitlyn took care of my polish as I'd requested a galaxy design to match my swimsuit coverup (I'm standing on it in the photos I attached). She did a FANTASTIC job! I'll be smiling the whole next week because the design she did looks so great. So grateful they were able to squeeze me in last minute, and took such great care of my horribly neglected feet. I look forward to frequenting Mai's Nails often. read more

They did a great job with me and my sisters nails! I was pretty indecisive and they were very patient and walked me through different colors. What brought me to this salon? My prior salon of 6 years was taking shortcuts with their services and the customer service took a nose dive. I started using Mai Nails over a month ago and will continue to go. The prices are comparable to other salons in the area and the customer service is 100% great. I drive 35 minutes to get my SNS nails here--totally worth it. I had damaged, almost no nails and I'm a believer now. I always walk out with the cutest nails and they last until whenever I go back! This is a well-run family business and I've tried many other places -- I do always make appointments so idk what drop-in times are like. Go-you won't be sorry!! read more

I was really hoping to find someone who could recreate the style I was used to back home. I found this salon a few months ago and had been seeing one of the brow stylists, who was fantastic. She understood exactly what I was trying to achieve and helped me gradually get my brows back to the shape I loved. Since eyebrow growth takes time, we've been working toward that goal over multiple appointments. Unfortunately, her schedule has been a bit inconsistent lately, so I stopped in today after the gym hoping another stylist could help. Before we started, I explained in detail what I had been working on with the other brow artist and asked several questions to make sure she was comfortable maintaining that same shape. She assured me she understood and told me to trust her. Unfortunately, the result was the exact opposite of what I had asked for. It felt like my concerns weren't listened to, and months of progress toward growing my brows back have now been undone. Brows take weeks to grow back and often months to reshape, so it's incredibly disappointing to feel like I'm starting over. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I spent a significant amount of time explaining exactly what I was trying to accomplish because I wanted to avoid this outcome. I left feeling like I had wasted both my time and the progress I'd made over the past few months. It was simply a very inconvenient experience that could have been avoided if the stylist had been upfront about not being familiar with the technique or shape I was looking for. I'm sure this stylist may do a great job for clients looking for a different brow style, but if a client is asking for a specific approach that you're not confident you can achieve, it's much better to be honest than to promise you can. Setting the right expectations is so important. The technician working on me did not even ask if I was okay with the dogs being in the room with me. Throughout the session, I would hear her speaking to the dogs. Because my eyes were closed I have no idea if she was touching/petting them and then touching my eyes after. Even though the dogs are cute, I was really grossed out by the whole thing.

What disappointed me most was the way I was treated when trying to address it. The response felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude, especially considering I had been a longtime member and loyal customer. Mistakes happen, and I completely understand that newer stylists are learning. What matters is how a business responds when something goes wrong. I then resorted to texting to ask them and I typed out a clear and concise message that indicated that I was inquiring only and didn't intend on changing my appointment at that given time. The message read: Hii! I wanted to know that if I wanted to reschedule, would there be any penalty/issues? I don't know if I need to yet, just weighing my options. Alexis, the owner, told me there was no penalty and that I can reschedule online if need be. After speaking to the airlines to change my flight to extend my stay (for the emergency, my grandfather passed), I decided to try to simply reschedule my appointment for a later date. After having issues booking online, I decided to call back because the same thing happened with booking my initial appointment. And Alexis manually went into their system to change it, and thought that perhaps she could assist me again. Instead, she texted me an incredibly RUDE and insensitive text, following another that said that she cancelled my appointment although I never asked for her to do so. There was no apology, no customer recovery, nothing. Attached you will see the text messages, please read them. And please do yourself a favor and DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE RESPECTED AND HAVE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, because you will not get it from them. I really wanted to support a Black owned business, but there are others in the city that deserve the money that you'd spend here. UPDATE: Per the business owner's response (Alexis), she has made it even more apparent that her overall inadequacy and inability to thoroughly read, be honest, and even manage her books properly is alarmingly unprofessional. In the response (below), she claims that they "went out of their way to accommodate me past business hours," which is a prime example of her fragrant dishonesty. I simply asked her for whatever time that was available for my booking. I never asked for a time. Alexis took it upon HERSELF to book me at 6pm and not 6:30pm, as she claims. Please see below for proof of my statements via Alexis and I's text message conversation. In addition, I did call at least 4 times to try to be considerate, so I wouldn't cancel my booking. As I mentioned in my initial review, I had just received news of my grandpa's passing and had to change my flight to attend the funeral. When I messaged her (see texts below), I apologized for the calls and notified her of my family emergency-- which she chooses to ignore-- and even settled to come in for the appointment still because I didn't want to throw off their schedule. With the passing of my grandpa, I simply wasn't thinking of if the business was closed or not, and just wanted to get in contact with someone who could possibly give me information on rescheduling, if I decided to. Also, since when is calling a business when they're "not open" an inconvenience? If their contact number was solely their business number, someone calling during the daytime closed or not, isn't bizarre-- logically. Simply put, this all stemmed from a very prideful, egotistical business owner that refuses to own up to her mistakes and apologize for cancelling my appointment, when I only contacted her to get information on their rescheduling/cancellation policy. I believe that she may have trouble properly reading. During our entire exchange via text message, I was so kind to her. Never gave a rude or snappy response. So I'm unsure why she deemed that I wasn't a "good fit for their business." I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau on this matter.
