Fried crispy and not mushy or overcooked. The sweet vinegar and herbs balance it perfectly. Perfection. That's saying a lot since I'm a meat lover. The shrimp is delicious, and the chicken (Neighborhood Bun or Bowl) is brilliant. The egg rolls are also delicious. If you can handle a little spice, the Red Beans and Rice are great, too.

While we waited for our food, many continuously piled in to order or pick up their food. I'd recommend calling in your order a head of time because they get pretty backed up, but the food is well worth the wait. I got the Tofu Brah bun and my mom got the chili noodles with pork and a side of rice and beans. All of the food was so flavorful and the portions were generous. The bun itself was so light and fluffy, and the tofu was crispy. They didn't skimp on the pork in the chili noodles - about half the dish was really tender pork. The rice and beans were nice and spicy too and my mom loved them! This is more of a grab and go kind of place, but there are two outdoor benches and some countertop seating inside

The chef even made us a baked salmon dish on the house, which was delish! However, it seemed like the rice my sushi was made with was part of an older batch or undercooked? It was kind of hard. My husband's rice had a better texture, more what you expect with sushi. But I could tell the fish was very fresh and so were the rest of the ingredients besides my rice. I have been to many sushi restaurants that are high end and more affordable, but Oya is the best of both worlds. The quality and creativity in each dish is far out of the league of what you pay. The restaurant is on the smaller end, but the lighting, decor, and cleanliness is absolutely stellar! What I love is that the interior compliments the fresh and clean taste of the fish. Attention to detail in how everything is presented and plated shows the amount of care that the chef has for their customers. Additionally, they do not hold back on the things that matter. I chose to eat various dishes of fish, which require a lot of ginger to cleanse my palette after each fish, and Oya did not hold back. Where many other sushi restaurants lack, Oya dominates at. Service was absolutely amazing as well. The chefs were extremely respectful greeting you and the server was ready for whatever need you may have. More than supporting big chains that profit off of you by overstuffing you with a lot of rice and cheap fishy fish, I would HIGHLY recommend supporting a small business. Oya Sushi is one of the handful of restaurants that I wish I could exceed five stars. Everything about this place exceeded all expectations and I could not recommend this place more than any other sushi restaurant I have been to. It is a different type of love when you want to go around to all your friends, family, and co-workers to one day take them to a restaurant. Oya is a MUST eat when in Maryland.

The restaurant is small and humble, more similar to a cafe style than full service. There was a server taking our order and bringing the food to us, but we grabbed our own waters and paid at the counter. RICE PLATTER (3 ITEMS) - 15.75 + rendang, grilled chicken, sweet & spicy anchovies and peanut Not a whole lot of "items" but an overwhelming amount of rice. The beef rendang was a bit oily, but flavorful and tender. The grilled chicken was incredibly dry and unappetizing. I loved the sweet & spicy anchovies and peanut, which was perfectly seasoned and crunchy. Overall, disappointed with the lack of protein. In this economy, the pricing was relative affordable with most entrees under $20. My friend got the NASI KUNING, which was only a few bucks more than my rice platter, but it had a lot more food and variety. The turmeric rice was fragrant, like a spiced jasmine-flavored rice. The rice chips she didn't want (that I helped eat) were great.

Ginger at MGM National Harbor…read more I recently stopped by Ginger before a concert at the MGM, and the convenience alone made it an easy choice. Since it was my first visit, I was excited to try something new, and overall, it was a solid pre-show dinner experience. My dining companion and I shared the Ginger Salad, Edamame, and Crab Fried Rice topped with a soft-shell crab. The standouts were definitely the salad and the fried rice. The Ginger Salad was fresh, flavorful, and one of my favorite dishes of the evening, though I do think the portion was a bit small for the price. The Crab Fried Rice was delicious, generously portioned, and easily shareable. The soft-shell crab on top was a nice touch. The edamame, however, missed the mark for me. It was a little overcooked and fairly bland. The menu mentions crispy garlic, but I wish it had been incorporated more as a sauce or seasoning to better distribute the flavor throughout the dish. For drinks, I ordered the Castaway, a refreshing gin cocktail that paired perfectly with dinner. My dining companion enjoyed a glass of wine followed by a skinny margarita. Both were well-made and helped kick off our concert night. Service was good overall, and our server was friendly, but we did have to ask for a few items multiple times, including a straw and the edamame. Nothing major, but it did stand out. The restaurant itself is spacious with attractive décor and beautiful views of the promenade. It's a versatile space that would work well for both date nights and larger group dinners. My only disappointment is that there isn't any bar seating, which would have been nice for those looking to grab a quick bite or drink before a show. One thing I'd love to see added is sushi. It feels like a natural fit for the menu and would give guests even more options. The prices are definitely on the steep side, but that's somewhat expected when dining inside the MGM resort. Overall, Ginger offers a pleasant atmosphere, good cocktails, and a few standout dishes that make it worth considering if you're already heading to MGM for a concert or event.

The staff was very helpful in deciding what to pick and guiding us through the menu. However, as good as the items are, I do not truly believe that it matches the price point. They were good but lack luster in seasoning in some aspects and the presentation was mediocre for what it was. This is a great restaurant to try for the vibes and ambiance of dining in MGM but being so close to a hot spot of asian dining, there is plenty of better options within the area.

I finally found it after walking back up the street for the second time. What threw me off was that there is an interior street called Bethesda Lane!!! I blame gps for not telling me to turn down this lane because my phone kept saying that I have arrived. But it was worth the walk up and down Bethesda Avenue. I got there before the noon rush and ordered the bibimbap which consisted of bulgogi steak and tofu with spicy kimchi, housemade pickles, bean sprout banchan, and veggies atop crispy rice. Topped with gochujang and a fried egg. It was not too spicy as there was just a dab of gochujang which was enough to give the dish a little kick but not overly spicy. The kimchi was also on the spicy side but again, fine for me. All the ingredients were tasty. I especially loved the tofu mixed in with the steak sauce. My first bite of the tofu actually made me think it was the meat. The rice wasn't "crispy" as described. I think if I hadn't taken it as a to-go order, it may have been prepared in a stone pot therefore giving me that crispy rice. I will need to try a dine-in next time to be sure. The egg was perfectly done.

I came as part of a large group dinner. I appreciate that they took large reservations and sat us in a nice spot in the middle of the restaurant. The server was nice and patient, but I did notice his jacket smelled like cigaret smoke. I asked what to get, since the menu is *huge* and overwhelming (I'm not sure why sushi, steak and pad Thai are on the same menu?). He recommended sushi, so I got a flaming dragon roll (I forget the exact name). Anyways, everyone else also ordered and the food came relatively quickly. Now...when I tell you this is the worst sushi I've ever had. Again, I hate being negative but I have to tell it like it is! When they first presented the dish, it was cool because they serve it on fire. I knew that they had sake in the dish (probably so the flame can keep going after they take it out of the kitchen). However, when I bit into it, the sake was *extremely* overpowering. I couldn't taste anything else except the sake. It was extremely alcohol-heavy and I could not finish the dish. I asked others to try it, and they all agreed that it was too heavy. The prices were also very high for what we got. The only food I enjoyed were the appetizers, but they were still unremarkable. Overall, I regrettably cannot recommend this place. None of the dishes stood out, and the sushi was shocking.
