Now the return window was closed and a smaller size was out of stock. So I decided to see about altering them and found Sarah's business. By the way, it is tucked away in a very cute courtyard on the east side of D St, just south of the hotel on the corner. Sarah and I discussed options and in the end we chose to put in two front tucks to take in the waist. The work was completed quickly and the alteration is invisible. And, oh by the way, the fit is perfect . Money well spent; thank you Sarah .

I went in to get my bridesmaid dress altered and hemmed. She completed the service by the date she had told me it would be done. Roughly a week. I went to pick it up after work so I didn't try on the dress. I tried on the dress at home and the bottom was uneven, left side was longer than the left side of the dress. The top was too tight and I could barely lift my arms ups. I would recommend any ladies that need their dresses altered or hemmed, to stretch & lift arms to make sure you will be comfortable doing things. As for the length of the dress, wear heels-even if you do plan on wearing flats or sneakers.

After so many glowing reviews I traveled over an hour to have her alter my dress because I knew she could be trusted. When I got my dress it was incredibly long. Unfortunately I am rather short. Along the bottom of the dress were embroidered flowers that I didn't want to cut off. Jeannie went above and beyond to take apart my dress from the waist and bring it up so the flowers would not get cut off. She really went above and beyond in such a short time! Her prices were very reasonable and she was fun and easy to talk to during my appointments. Thank you so much Jeannie! My dress fit and turned out perfectly.

Unfortunately, too often my clothes are returned with little or no starch at all. This has become a recurring problem. I spend an average of $60 per visit, which is too much money to have such a simple request ignored. Heavy starch is not a special or complicated request. It should be done consistently every time. This is a good business, and when they are on, they are on. I just wish they would provide the same level of consistency every visit.

I initially chose a less expensive seamstress for my wedding dress alterations, and unfortunately, the neckline was completely botched and uneven. With my wedding only being 1 month away, this was a huge disappointment and caused an unnecessary additional amount of stress. I brought my dress to Carole, who was recommended by the bridal shop, and she was an absolute pleasure. She fixed the neckline beautifully and, while working on the dress, also noticed that the original bustle had been poorly done and was likely to break. Only 1 button for all that fabric (right where my bottom hits the chair), I mean come on! Carole fixed it beautifully with a French bustle. Before and after photo below. What I appreciate most is that she was willing to take on someone else's work and fix it, even though I had originally passed on her because her quote was higher. After seeing the love and quality she put into my dress, I truly wish I had just gone with her from the beginning! She was professional, knowledgeable, and so so kind. I'm forever grateful she was able to save my wedding dress so I could wear it with no regrets on my special day! I am truly so appreciative of Carole and the work she put into my gown.
