Jeannie tailored my wedding dress for a summer wedding. The dress needed to be taken in, hemmed, and have a bustle added (I chose a French bustle). I purchased my dress at A&bé boutique and she was one of their recommended tailors. My dress had removable straps and tulle sleeves. First, I had a consultation with her in-person. She was very professional, clearly outlining the parts of the dress she recommended tailoring and which she thought were optional. She even recommended against making certain alterations that would be quite challenging and very expensive. She made suggestions like sewing in a no-slip strap piece on the underside of the straps so they wouldn't slip. Love my dress! So happy I worked with Jeannie. She clearly takes pride in her work and listens to what her clients want. I was looking to have a bridesmaid dress altered for a late April wedding and decided to come to Jeannie after reading all the great reviews. Jeannie definitely lives up to her 5 star rating! In February I gave her a call and booked a 30 minute session to look at what changes my dress needed. I had a standard size dress that fit pretty well, it only needed hemming in the end. Most of the time was spent pinning my dress to the right length -- it had three layers and took the whole session. Jeannie and I chatted through the whole thing and she's an interesting woman with lots of stories to tell! She's was so thorough with her work and I can tell she enjoys doing it. When I went in she had a lot of orders with wedding season and I let her know my dress was no rush at all. Ended up picking it up around mid-March and everything was great! Entire process was smooth and efficient and my single layer polyester/spandex dress cost $45 to hem (about 3-4 in were cut off) which was reasonable to me and she steamed it before I got it back.
