Mahaffey's is a chill watering hole in Canton that offers great drink specials. I love sitting at the bar with friends and grabbing some beers. It's not too packed or overcrowded so I love not having to fight my way up to the bar to grab a drink! The bartenders are efficient and helpful.

We are here for Mahaffey's Block Party. A nice size crowd with good food and booze. Now listening to the Shrapnel's.

True neighborhood spot except with a world class beer menu. Amazing wings and local specials like crab dip. Calamari was on the menu today. As was an amazing IPA from Southern Grist. Service was excellent. Quiet Saturday. Don't tell anyone about this spot.

This place gets an automatic 5 from me. Can't expose the exact reason but just know the Manager is mad cool. The food was great and the atmosphere was laid back. Everyone was having a good time and the ambiance was right. Will definitely come back here to grab drinks when I come back in town.

Great dive bar in Canton. Balto wings are fire. Friendly service and staff and great selection of beer. One of the better dive bars in Balmer.

Just tried this place for the first time and it was pretty good! I got the jerk chicken strips which came with fries and a sauce. The chicken was decently flavorful but a little bit dry and the fries were a bit soggy. The sauce was also a bit spicy which i wasn't expecting but i actually liked it. But my friend got a chicken sandwich and he said he liked it! And overall the service was super nice!

This is an awesome neighborhood bar. I stop in occasionally but am no means a regular, but every time I go in they treat me like one. The staff is professional and welcoming and the food is really good. I usually go for the wings and will say they are some of the best in the city. I also want to give a side shout out to our bartender Dennis who ran drinks and made recommendations. We were with our 6 month old so it was a little tough to order from the bar so he stopped out frequently. When we were getting ready to sign out he laid a children's book on our table and told us how his child loved it. Little things like this make me love our local Baltimore neighborhood bars. Great stuff all!!

If you're looking to grab some great beers, the best cheesesteak in Baltimore or have some great conversations with folks you've never met, Mahaffey's is the spot. A true "Cheers" style bar.

$2 craft beers. Who are you too resist?

We were impressed with the portion sizes as well. The fish and chips were delicious. The fish was super flakey and not dry. Even the crawfish etouffee was super tasty. When we arrived back at our hotel bar they were about to close and suggested we check out this place. We followed there advice and were so glad we did. Upon entry they appeared to be closng down and said they go with the number of patrons to determine their closing time. This worked out greatly as once we arrived and only two other patrons were at the bar a swarm soon followed. Our favorite bartender is Laura. I noticed a huge difference in her making my drink and the other bartenders who only ask for your order but give no suggestions, do not offer to allow you to sample something on tap, and the potency. I soon realized that I will only recommend this place to others if Laura is the bartender. There were times we wanted to try something new, she asked a few questions and handcrafted us the perfect drink. Her personality was amazing, drinks were strong, and she kept people wanting to drink and be apart of the banter. If Laura isn't there I am not going. We went two nights in a row and the second night we were there we brought with us a couple we met who were in Bmore from Cleveland for a cruise. They enjoyed the place but it was missing her personality, patrons, and the drinks weren't as handcrafted, special or potent. now for the food. This is by far a pub with the best food I have ever tasted. I ordered the fish and chips that was an amazing fleshy piece of cob hand breaded and a jambalaya that too this day I am still dreaming about with its chunks of chicken breast, sauteed small pieces of sausage and gravy like texture filled with flavor that was bold and packed a welcomed punch. My partner had some type of irish sausage dish and loved it. We will return to visit Laura this spring for our next rendevous here for sure.

We stopped by on a Friday for lunch and they posted a strong emphasis on live entertainment. A friend who frequents the area mentioned their music nights are especially popular and can draw quite a crowd. The location sits right on the waterfront, and I can imagine the sunsets here must be spectacular. Although it is conveniently located just off the main highway not far from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, traffic noise never intruded on the dining experience. Our server was in the process of training a new staff member, and both were friendly, attentive, and polite throughout the meal. Menus are provided at the table, though prices are accessed by scanning a QR code. Pricing was very reasonable, and the menu offered a nice variety of both seafood and non-seafood options. The fish sandwich can be ordered either fried or grilled. The fish tasted fresh and flavorful, and the sandwich itself was satisfying without being overly heavy. While there was no house-made sauce, the freshly made potato chips were nice and thick, crisp and a standout side. Our friends shared a burger and a basket of fried shrimp, both of which they thoroughly enjoyed. Cold drinks arrived promptly and were perfect for the warm waterfront atmosphere. There were no overly complicated dishes or unexpected twists on the menu, but everything we ordered was well prepared, generously portioned, and tasty. This is definitely a spot I would recommend if you are in the area. Don't let the daytime appearance fool you -- this place clearly comes alive once the crowd and music arrive.

My wife saw they had black bean soup and a pork special, so we decided to stay and were seated. Since our last visit about a year ago, they've made some changes. The seating has been updated, with a second bar added along with high-top tables and booths. The space looks very nice. Our server came over, took our drink order, and we asked for a bowl of the black bean soup. When he returned, my wife asked how the pork special was, and he said it was very good, so she ordered it. I ordered the cod fish and chips. When the food came out, everything looked good at first. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very greasy -- it seemed like the fries were placed on the plate to soak up the grease from the fish. My wife's pork dish was worse. She was given two slices with connective tissue running through them that were so tough she couldn't even get a fork into them. The other piece was also extremely tough and difficult to cut, and the gravy had no flavor. When our server finally came back to check on us, my wife showed him the pork. His response was simply that he would let the manager know and take it off the bill. There was no offer to replace the dish or bring her something else to eat. After that, we never saw him again. My wife eventually asked another server for tea, which a different server brought. Later, another server came by to see if we were finished. I asked how much the eggnog was, and she quoted the price for a bottle, said I just want a glass, she said I'll get you a menu I explained to another waitress I just wanted a glass. Eventually, I got it -- though I asked for it without ice, and it still came with ice. At that point, I just drank it. The best thing was the bean soup. Overall, this was not a good meal and honestly the worst experience we've had in the 10+ years we've been coming here. Between the food quality and the lack of follow-up from our server, it was very disappointing. It will be quite a while before we return.

In March 2018, my girlfriend at the time wanted to go here as there was a group of people going for St. Patrick's Day. We went here along with her young pre-teen daughter. They almost weren't going to let us in, but my g/f assured we just needed to eat, and they said since it was before 9 PM, it'd be ok. I enjoyed my Shepherd's Pie, a solid option here. After eating, there was dancing on the dance floor and a couple of people I knew. Then, my g/f went out to the dance floor. I'm sitting at the table with my g/f's pre-teen daughter who fell asleep. It was awkward for me especially since someone asked me if she was ok, and I said she's just tired. We left sometime in the midnight hour. But the fact of the matter was that my g/f shouldn't have put her daughter in that situation.
