She knew that there would be live music and she thought it would be a nice afternoon on the patio enjoying that famous Florida sun. They ordered a bucket of beer to share, while I settled in on a vodka cocktail they listed that sounded very refreshing. It was busier, so it was a little wait to receive but worth the wait! Loved it and ended up ordering another one. As for the food, there was a bit of a wait but we understood with the weather being nice on a Saturday afternoon. We started with Buffalo Chicken Dip & Chips. Sadly, it tasted like cream cheese over anything and had minimal chicken, which is why I settled on a 4-star versus 5-star. The Sand Bar burger and fries quickly made up for it, and we all enjoyed our entrees. Absolutely loved the tartar sauce that came with my boyfriend's shrimp basket! After dining here, I can see why this is one of their favorite local spots. The next time I'm visiting Eustis, I'll see if they are up for a boat ride to come check this place out again.

We also had wings which were on special with 10 wings for $10.99. We asked for crispy along with garlic parmesan which were perfectly cooked & presented. Asked for a water immediately, and set my things down before going to the restroom... which was clean, easy to find, and well stocked, so zero issues there! Hehehe..... When I returned, I had a water and the bar menu as well as the lunch menu waiting for me. I ended up getting the Crooked Can/Frog and Monkey collaboration IPA, which was lovely. I ordered the turkey and brie sandwich, because reading it on the menu outside was what had originally drawn me into the restaurant, and a cup of the French Onion soup rather than getting the fries that came with. The soup was up first, and it was delightful- nice, hardy chunks of onion without being too big/sliding off my spoon, a well developed broth, and a fantastic amount of cheese. The sandwich was lovely, great slices of turkey and decently sized pieces of brie and apple to go along with it. Unfortunately, when I went to get the second half of my sandwich, I noticed what looked like a dark beard hair on it.... as I was dining alone, and my long hair was tied up, definitely not mine. I called over my server, and I pointed it out to her... she asked if I wanted to have a new sammie or get it taken off the bill. I asked if I could pay for the soup, since I had finished it, but not the sammie and she absolutely agreed to that. I wrapped up my meal and left to keep going on my day. Everywhere has issues occasionally, but this was handled well, so I will mention it, and I do knock off a star for this visit, but I am still willing to try again if I am in the area.

But... keep reading.. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is because of the bartender... he will end of tanking the business because every time I go in there he is not friendly (unless sitting at his bar). Never greats hello unless you walk up to the bar. Also, I am all for being friendly and making conversation but when I get my appetizer every time before my ordered cocktail because I watch him have regular day to day convo with the people for 10-15 mins at the bar and then just moves on to the next person. I have never received a drink in a timely fashion or before even receiving food because either he doesn't pay attention that he has to make drinks for outside of the main bar or he only cares about the people who are directly tipping him. It's disappointing that the servers have to constantly say something just to get a drink at all. They either need a new bartender or he needs a bar back because he doesn't know how to time manage. I paid $60 for a drink I had to wait until almost my food came out and at that point I don't want to drink that with my food. That's for before. I 100% would go back and recommend this place BUT only for the servers and the food. I'd tell someone to skip the bar all together.
