Fantastic service. High quality (as far as I can tell). Incredibly communicative. Extremely thorough work, and they keep the entire area extremely clean. We're doing some major home renovations and wanted to be sure our chimney was 100% good to go. Our home contractor recommended Magic Wand. They came and did what they needed to do inside the house, again keeping everything incredibly clean. They then said that there was some outside work that they recommended: some re-pointing, redoing the crown, cleaning the brickwork, and a few other things. I gave them a down payment and they came back a couple of months later. Took them about 3 days, mostly because they had to put up and take down their scaffolding. And again, even outside, their work was incredibly clean. Very happy with their work and how they work with their customers. Highly recommended!! read more

Unfortunately, most of our community is getting to the point of needing brick repair on our front porches. I got a recommendation from a neighbor for Magic Wand Chimney. I was so pleased with their work. Richard is a real craftsman, who really pays attention to details. The finished product is much better than I expected. If you need brick work, this should be your first choice! read more

Richard was amazing to work with from start to finish. I have an older house with a few damaged bricks in the chimney and the fireplace needed to be cleaned. Another vendor told us that the type of brick used in our chimney is hard to find these days, so the best solution is to demolish and rebuild it. Richard found identical bricks and replace the damaged ones within a week. After the cleaning, he identified gaps in the lining. He ordered the materials and completed the installation the following week. Throughout the process, he and Robert have been nothing but polite. They took care of my house as if it was their own. The floors were protected and shoes were off on the areas that weren't. 100% will call him again in the future. read more

Why can't I give TEN stars? Richard was a wonderful find. He responded right away even on a weekend and scheduled my repair. After doing a superb job, he charged me less than his original quote. WHAT how did that happen? Richard and his helper know what they are doing. They are consummate professionals and I will only use them in the future if the need arrises. Late with this "Great" review & recommendation - my apologies. Several years ago, we hired this company to clean our chimney and fireplace bc we thought a bird family had taken residence Long story short, not only did MW clean the chimney and gutters, he cleaned & replaced the chimney cap & destroyed some vines making their way up and down into the area. The work was well worth the price; no birds singing or chirping inside anymore. read more

Great service from Richard and Robert. Fast, clean and responsive chimney cleaning service. Would definitely use them again

I have had many service persons at my old house, I give very few reviews, and I only write positive reviews. I had to have my chimney serviced; Crown and flashing repaired, twenty plus bricks (cutout and) replaces, and chimney cleaned. It was two full days of work. Richard the owner/mason I found him to be a pleasure to work with, and watching him work. He does good work and left the work areas clean, taking every bit of cracked bricks/mortar with him. Also, blew the leaves out of the gutters because he was there and they needed it, good work ethics. I highly recommend Richard for chimney work, and I will be calling him next year for my chimney cleaning. read more

Richard is very professional and did a great job in our chimney. We needed some new panels and cleaning and he was very prompt ordering everything and keeping us updated. We recommend him already to a few friends and will use his services again next year for a cleaning. read more

Richard replaced the bricks around the top of my chimney, put in a new chimney liner, and re-pointed the bricks in the firebox as well as repointing some bricks on the outside of the chimney. I was impressed by him throughout the whole experience. When he came and provided the quote, one of the things we asked him about was some holes in the brick that we thought needed to be repaired. He explained that they were actually weep holes for water to drain from and needed to be there. We were planning to paint the bricks, and he told us he'd send us a picture later of the sponges we could put in when we painted. True to his word, later in the day he followed up with the details he'd promised. While this may seem small, I've had so many flaky contractors give me quotes and not do what they say they're going to that this was very refreshing. I was also impressed that he had chimney-sweep coloring books for the kids when he gave us the estimate. The estimate was very reasonable in price, and Richard was very responsive as I communicated with him about the project as we were deciding whether or not to have him do the work. When he came and did the work, he was very professional in all our interactions. He put down drop cloths from the front door to the fireplace (something else I've had contractors not do), and cleaned up at the end of each day. He explained everything he was doing, and was just very pleasant to work with. His workmanship was very good, and I plan to hire him again if we ever need additional work done. read more

This was the best experience I've ever had with a company. They responded within a few minutes after I reached out to them about coming to clean my chimney. They called me when they arrived they were so professional and very neat to make sure everything was covered and that my house would not be disturbed. Very nice team and did an amazing job. I would give them 20star rating! read more

Richard was very professional and provided top rate service. I am a first time homeowner and wanted to have my chimney cleaned correctly for my first fire in the house and to ensure it was safe for my family. Richard cleaned the chimney and recommended I replace the panels which were cracking. He returned the next weekend and completed all the work. Before he left he showed me all the work he had done. Everything looks and works great. Would recommend this company, we definitely plan to use him in the future! read more

I was looking for a Chimney Sweep to come out within a week to conduct a video inspection of my two chimneys and then clean them. Richard was available the next day! It was a great interaction; Richard is very professional and he made sure to keep my house clean throughout the process. His prices are very reasonable as well. I will not hesitate to utilize him for any future chimney work. read more

Review only for assessment and estimate. No work completed. They came over and suggested an 11 inch liner which "may not fit so chimney tiles may need to be removed." Ummm my chimney is 9/13 so an 11 inch liner would absolutely be too big. Instead of installing a 9 inch liner that actually fits my chimney, you want to remove portions of my chimney to fit a big liner? Do you have a bunch of extra 11 inch liners laying around that you're trying to use? They also oversold how important the work is. Then they wanted to charge me for the estimate without ever mentioning this prior. Nope sorry. I've received 2 other quotes from reputable places and who didn't charge and were able to take measurements. Maybe they do good work, I won't be hiring them to find out. MCP Chimney seems great. read more

After the recent wind storm in the area, we realized we had some tree damage to the flues and chimney pots. I requested a quote from a company I found on Checkbook, but he personally had 3 trees down in his yard, and he referred us to Richard. Richard responded right away and came to give us an estimate in a timely manner. He was on time, had a neat truck, a black top hat and chimney sweep overcoat! His estimate was the best of 3, and without being at all pushy, he actually asked for the business! Most service folks just leave you the estimate, and they don't follow up or seem at all interested in whether they get your business or not. I never heard from the other 2 companies at all. Richard was knowledgeable, friendly, efficient and true to his word. The repairs were done in one day, and they totally cleaned up after. read more

Richard provided a free estimate for work that I had quoted by a larger local company and easily beat the original quote. He kept to his original schedule and budget, and was exceptionally clean and tidy throughout the project. The scope of work included removing damaged mortar joints and installing a new steel liner, crown and lock top damper. He power-washed the chimney and caulked as needed and did an outstanding job. I would recommend them to anyone needing chimney/fireplace repairs. read more

Richard responded quickly when I requested a quote and ended up giving a great quote compared to a large chimney company. I ended up needing the entire chimney rebuilt, which was quite an undertaking. Richard and his colleagues spent a week at our house, and they were easy to have around and did great work. Even our neighbors enjoyed watching them work and commented on the remarkable craftsmanship. read more

Richard came out on a Sunday for an estimate on a broken fireplace, after rescheduling a few times from the previous week. Seemed like a straight shooter but couldn't get him back on the phone the following week. Finally got a hold of him and he let me know he was too busy to do the work and then hung up on me. Lost a Sunday in addition to the delay in finding someone reputable and reliable to get the work done. Shame on me - but learn from my mistake and think twice before calling Richard/Magic Wand. read more

Magic Wand (Richard and Steve) came out and did some repairs to our chimney--not as easy as it sounds. They had to erect almost 30 feet of scaffolding on top of the deck, remove and replace cracked bricks, repair the chimney cap and remove and repack multiple courses of mortar. They started early and finished around noon the next day. While they were here I also had them clean the chimney. All told they did an outstanding job. It was messy but when they left the place was spotless. To make matters even less complicated no one needed to be home although I stayed part of the first day until they got pretty well settled but not the second day. I can say unequivocally that I will call them again if the occasion arises. Completely satisfied!!--Murzy read more

These guys came highly recommended for some chimney repair work that needed to be done on my 60+ year old house. They fixed my firebox, tore down 12 levels of brick on my chimney and replaced it in a matter of 48 hours, matching my mortar color and doing a thorough and professional job. He even used some leftover mortar to secure a loose outdoor lamp on my deck. I'm happy with the work they did and have already recommended them to neighbors. read more
