Was helping my mom get some electrical work tidied up. Interviewed 4 companies. At the time Tim Kyle was the most reputable and competent. But pricing was very high and their rep did not itemize the services needed. Nonetheless we decided to go with Tim Kyle. In the meantime to get the price down we omitted nearly everything with the exception of just one dimmer switch and one ceiling fixture. Asked the rep to revise the contract and resend with updated pricing. He refused and said he would just update our price later after he came out to get the work done. The experience from start to finish was no less than Super Stellar! Ryan the salesman was upfront and thorough, explained everything in great detail. He was pleasant and patient the entire time. He visited the job site several times while my whole house generator was being installed. The workmen were absolutely amazing, very clean and went to great efforts to insure daily cleanup was outstanding. They answered all my questions I had during the install. The weather was extremely hot during the installation of my Kohler whole house generator but they kept plugging away with a "can do attitude", a real pleasure to to deal with, their immense positivity was refreshing, I felt as if I was their only customer, even though I knew I wasn't. Their office staff was no less than incredibly superb, great communications, absolutely great! The generator has been a true blessing, up here on the mountains in which I live can be frustrating, when the power is out, now I have no worries. There was no up selling, just letting me know what they can do to fix my problem. The First time I used them for my electric service in the summer 2025. This crew was great!! Called Monday 1/27/25 around 7:30 am morning and got an appointment that day hour window 8-10 am. Aaron showed up 9 am and diagnosed what needed to be done, gave me an estimate and made the repair right away. Aaron also discussed their maintenance program with electric and HVAC maintenance program. I always forget to have my HVAC check. With this plan they come out twice a year. read more

Needed a light fixture repair for a tall ceiling. They came out, charge a visit fee, but don't place that against the work. They were pretty high in my opinion. Only went with them, because they were there. The fix is complete. I would not go with them again though due to their rates. read more

I have a job that is going to easily run several thousand dollars. I called them based off of positive reviews and stated that this was for new work and not break/fix. I was told there is a $70 fee to have a tech come out. I explained again that this was new work and I wanted a free estimate. I was told sorry..it's $70 to get someone to come out even for an estimate. This is ridiculous. I hung up and called another local company that will be out later today to give a "free estimate" and they will most likely be awarded the job. If this is how they nickel and dime on the front end I can imagine what it's like on the other side. Not recommended! read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! WHAT SCAMMERS!!! All we needed was to have a new light wired up in our shed. The light was already installed. All the wires were exposed. They charged $79 for just coming to the house. Then the serviceman brings out his computer and says he needs to do a diagnostic for $253!!! WHAT??? No one every mentioned that to us when we set up the appointment. So far that's $332 for just telling us what they need to do!!! Tim Kyle Electrical Svcs. was employed as my vendor of choice for my commercial farm business, 2 rental homes, and my personal home for years. It came as a shock when I asked them for a quote to install a 50 amp addition to my 4th home on our property (RV) and they charged me for a quote. I have previously used them for many, many reasons, both on my farm (300 acres) and all electrical installations and repairs to all my houses. Also, included is electricity for my spring - fed pump house on the property. You'd think that a $90 quote fee was really not needed for a customer that has spent literally thousands of dollars with them. When I asked the Chad (service manager) who spoke to owner, Ryan regarding this, they refused to back down from this fee. I have never heard of getting obtaining an estimate and charging for this. They were rude and very unprofessional. I am no longer going with this company, and have employed Precision Electrical Solutions of Bel Air who, ironically would love to give me a quote. Also, noted: on the quote for the 50 amp circuit (which was close to $10,000 dollars (huh?) there was no monetary break down costs. Just a final cost and taxes.It gave no indication how and what (monetarily) included in the final price. i.e: one trench, one 50 amp circuit, one electrical box. I had no of knowing the product cost was. Never will I use this company again. read more

Summer 2022: We hired Tim Kyle Electrical Service to upgrade the main breaker panel as well as relocate the meter and power supply to our home. Technician Chad met us in advance of purchasing the property to discuss our desires and offer thoughtful solutions given our budget constraints. Once the house was ours, the process leading up to scheduling was bumpy (we kept changing things due to other costly needs at the house), but Lauren in the main office as well as Chad were communicative and supportive in helping guide us. When Chad and assistant Luis came to do the work we found them to be prompt, thorough, kind and clean(!). We have other electrical needs in cue and will be hiring Tim Kyle for that work as well. I have a very high 20 ft ceiling and needed an experienced team of electricians to install a large ceiling fan for my great room. I received an estimate up front and was very pleased with the level of expertise the electrician has (John). When he came back for the installation, they were on time, courteous and a pleasure to have in my home. The job was not easy as they had to balance on a very tall ladder and also go through the attic. The fan looks and works great and I am very pleased with their good service and the results. The quality of the work and the professionalism of the technicians is top notch. The cost is very high and the pricing and promotion practices are sketchy, at best. They do not give estimates until they are in your home. They do not charge hourly rates (which you would think is good) but I ended up paying over $700 to replace seven smoke detectors and it took them only an hour to complete the work. They would not install Lowes purchased smoke detectors, I had to buy theirs. They would not break out the cost of labor from the cost of parts, which makes you wonder what they are up to. They plastered my electric panels with TKE stickers and wanted to put a sign on my lawn. Too expensive. Charged over $700 for two hours worth of work! I had an bathroom exhaust fan and 10 light switches updated. That doesn't include parts, which I purchased myself. Above and beyond!! We had trouble with light flickering, furnace burnt out, outlets ranging from 140 volts to 108, 256 volts coming in. (We didn't know about voltage issue until BGE HVAC guy came in). BGE HVAC tech (we called for furnace) said no worries but someone will be out next week to check out electrical. Said 256 high but safe- granted he was only HVAC and he did readings he didn't have to do, pointing out real trouble. I read online could be dangerous loose neutral. BGE Home still wouldn't come out for days but said don't worry. So I called Tim Kyle- and the owner himself called me back! Said 256 way too high, dangerous, shut off power run generator and call regular BGE emergency. He was right on- squirrels had eaten out neutral wire at the pole- our house could have burned, our other appliances fried like our furnace.
