The service is moderately slow, yet the place was nearly empty when I was there. It is also weird how you cant order a beer with the name, but rather have to use a number. Food came out quickly. I got the brewmaster burger. It was OK. It served its purpose, which was to fill my stomach. Either they are really good at forming patties, or it was a premade patty. We stopped at the magic tree last evening for dinner and it was AMAZING!! we started out with "the magic giant pretzel dog"!! WOW is all I can say. The hot dog had such great flavor, the pretzel was hot and fresh and the chili was to die for!! You also received a side of cheese and fresh cut onion!! For dinner I ordered the smoked brisket melt sandwich, and that's exactly what it did, melted in my mouth!! The flavor of the brisket was on point, the bun was fresh and toasted with the magic tree emblem burnt into it, the cheese was cheesy and the mushrooms and onions were just right!! And the best part, their macaroni and cheese...its the best I've ever had!! You must try it to understand!! Our waiter Micheal was AWESOME...we never waited for anything!! Drinks were always full and he was always there to make sure we were ok!! The staff is ALL super friendly and always making sure your visit is what you expected and more!! This was our second time to Magic Tree and sadly, likely to be our last. Upon our arrival, we were seated at a very cozy table that had an updated booth and chairs. It was nestled in the back corner and looked inviting. My husband was happy to see the TVs were airing the games that were on. During our visit on a Saturday evening at 5:30, they were out of the beer can chicken and chocolate milk (for our toddler) - not a huge deal, but just adds to our experience. Our Fries with Friends appetizer arrived cold and the cheese was bland. It also didn't include chives like the menu stated. My side salad arrived and had very little toppings - mostly greens. It took an hour after our arrival to receive our food. My daughter's buttered noodles came very bland with no Parmesan cheese (as stated on the menu) and her green beans looked and tasted like they were made in a burnt pan. My husband was very pleased with the cheeseburger soup and the mushroom melt. My bacon, lettuce, and fried green tomato sandwich on ciabatta bread was probably the best BLT I've ever had. The service was pretty good. Our server was sweet. I felt bad she had to deliver the bad news every time they were out or running behind with the order. I've been to Magic Tree several times and always have had a good experience. I find their food to be unique unlike most of the chain restaurants in the area. I especially like the atmosphere and have been there several times when they have had live entertainment. Along with that, I appreciate the vast amount of beers on tap and special types they have. Due to that, when my wife and I were looking for a venue for our wedding reception, I decided to ask about their wine and spirit room. I am so glad We did! The room there was fantastic, the service was wonderful, and the food was splendid. They came up with a menu that included chicken Romano that was extremely tasty in a creamy sauce - every one of our guests commented on how awesome it was. It truly was a flawless night! There is a place in my heart for this place. Met some some very good servers like Ed, Mary and Vanessa. Management have always said hello when we walk in. They have the greatest craft beer happy hour in Ohio. Half off all drafts and appetizers. No one even comes close. The food is great. You have to try their burgers. Perfection. They have special nights with something going on every day. Only issue for me is that it can get busy and crowded. So, I will see you Fridays for happy hour. read more

The food here is 3.5 stars; the service is 2.5. Service weighs heavily with me and if half-stars were a option I would have rated overall 2.5. The service was average on its face, but there was an attitude that felt a little less-than-welcoming. The servers and bartenders tended to be loud and having a lot of inside conversation about restaurant operations or what they did last night (or would be doing tonight.) Between my two visits, I had the blue cheese chips...a salad...the meatloaf...and some wings. The food was mostly solid; I probably wouldn't order the meatloaf again -- I found it just "alright" even though my server said it is very popular and usually sells out. I enjoyed the blue cheese chips...even though I'm not a huge blue cheese fan, the sauce was mild and the balsamic reduction was a great balance drizzled over the top. I also loved the grilled green beans that was the vegetable of the day both times I visited. There are definitely some other things on the menu I'd like to try; unfortunately, I'll probably look elsewhere for a place where the service is a little friendlier and the attention toward the service is as much a priority as the attention that has been given to the food and menu. read more

A group of six of us dined here on a Sunday. It was a unilateral decision, not one of committee, so I take no blame here. Two of us got burgers, one tuna, one hummus, one fish sandwich and one Rueben. The burgers: One ordered medium, one ordered pink in the center, both came out well-done. One was dressed with jalapenos and pepper-jack the other with lettuce ketchup onion pickle. The best thing about the burgers were the fries which were fresh and hand-cut and quite good. The burgers were dry and lifeless. The spicy one lacked any spice-heat at all and the standard one was dry enough that 3/4ths of it remained on the plate for the duration of the meal. The Rueben was apparently okay, the tuna so-so, the fish sandwich diner complained to us that the fish interior was "mushy" and the lion's share remained on the plate. The hummus was overly seasoned with garlic to a point where one felt like one was dining on garlic and not hummus. The party ordering the hummus claimed that the menu said that it was served with fresh veggies. When she queried the waitress she was told there was an up-charge of two bucks to get them. As the hummus was already way over-priced, she passed. She also passed on most of the hummus. I have to say that I have never dined at a restaurant at which so much food went into the dumpster! That pretty much describes the experience in a nutshell. The service was cordial, but somewhat inefficient, (no salt pepper etc was on the table and it had to be requested twice to have it brought to the table, arriving at last halfway through the meal. The meals took at least a half hour to 40 minutes to arrive...and then all but the tuna were served and the tuna took an extra ten minutes to arrive. It also seemed as though the fetching of anything took extra-long, whether it be refills or dining accoutrements or entrees or whatever. The house was not slammed...(it was a Sunday mid-afternoon.), so no excuse there. One of our party was a hung-over college student who mentioned she had not yet showered on that day, which begat joking at the table. The joking begat more comments from the barkeep who was taking our drink orders who proudly said the odor was probably him as he was at a rugby game the day before and he had not showered thereafter. A classic T.M.I. if ever there were one! Prices were eh. e.g. $10-$15 for the burgers. The good news was that the patio was open, so no comment on restaurant noise is offered here. read more

I really enjoy the magic tree pub and eatery...at least the bar / pub area of the restaurant! (I'll get to that) the draft beer list alone is reason to stop and visit! If you're a craft beer lover then you're bound to find something to enjoy. They also have great happy hours and specials on different days of the week. So check out their website for current offers. The food is always very good. My two absolute favorites are the giant pretzel (I personally order this as my meal because I don't like to share my pretzels) and the other meal that I would put on my personal list of best things I've ever ate is the waffle chicken. It's the perfect mix of sweet and savory and everyone should try it at least once! I've also had a couple burgers and wraps and salads all have been very good, and we've also always had very good service even when they are packed service was always above and beyond. The 4 stars instead of 5 is mostly due to the left side of the restaurant. Sit at the bar or wait for a table on the pub side rather than sitting to the left. I feel like that side should be totally reserved for parties because it doesn't even feel like the same restaurant. It's like the over flow section or those with very young children (sorry but it's a buzzkill when you're drinking and hanging out) it just has a very awkward feel. The hostess tried to sit us over there when the only thing happening on that side was a reunion so we opted to sit at the nearly empty bar. It felt like we were party cashing. Also their mules are very good but some of there cocktails are very overly sweet and a little tough to drink. I typically stick to beers over cocktails here but they come up with some unique ones. Since I love Vintage Estates, I naturally wanted to love The Magic Tree. The beer selection is great, the food is great, but the service isn't always good. 50% of the time we wait much longer for initial service than one should. I've seen tables get up and leave (usually on the patio) after waiting too long to be greeted by a server. The giant pretzel is fantastic and all the dips are delicious! We ordered apps since they where half of that day, I ordered the pretzel bruschetta my friend the fried pickles and my husband the mild chips. It took about 20 minutes to get there apps (my did not show up even though I ordered my ahead of time) the pickles where fried pickles, the chips had no flavor (where was the mild part) either the waitress forgot to order them mild or the chef forgot! After half an hour I was told that they ran out of bruschetta and had to make more and mine would be out soon..15 minutes later it came..the pretzel bread was not bruschetta just bread. We ordered food I ordered the mac that is suppose to be world famous. Well it was cold and had to bacon as stated on the menu, was brought some later. It was actually pretty bad not much better then a box of mac. My fiancé ordered the bison burger only to get a pulled pork sandwich how that happened don't know. Went on a Saturday night with a friend and ordered a Cranberry Pecan Salad. The place was super busy but the service and quality of the salad was excellent. Worst service!!! Don't waste your time on this establishment. The employees, including management are clearly very careless in their jobs. I ordered wings, out server didn't bring silverware, napkins or a basket for the bones. I asked for napkins & 20 minutes later she returned & apologized. I had to go up to the bar & get the napkins myself before she returned 10 minutes later. Absolutely ridiculous. Very disappointed in this establishment. They should care more about their customers & their reputation as a bar/restaurant. They seemed more concerned with giving us our bills as quickly as possible so they could leave. I am gluten-free which limited my menu options. I do appreciate how this place has all the GF options marked, and there are a fair amount of them, along with having GF breads available for the burgers, sandwiches, and wraps. So props for that! I got the Edamame appetizer. The sauce had a nice spice kick to it that made my nose tingle. It was very good. For my main meal, I got the hummus wrap with a side salad. The side salad was a bit smaller than I was expecting, even for a side salad. The wrap was very good -- I was craving hummus! -- but again, it was a bit smaller than I was wanting. There was a good amount of hummus, but not much else. I believe 3 or 4 kalamata olives. Being that it was a vegan option along with being gluten free, there wasn't much in it to fill me up. One of my friends also commented it looked like there wasn't much inside the wrap. I was not satisfied after my appetizer, side salad, and main meal of the wrap, so I ordered an additional salad -- the Quinoa one. It was very good, but again, was smaller than I was expecting. The quinoa salad along with the wrap was enough to let me leave feeling full, but of course I don't want to order two main courses in order to feel full. This is the reason for the 3 stars. The food was all good, there just wasn't much of it. Now I will say, two of my friends got the burgers and they were very good-sized. Another friend got a pretzel as well, and couldn't come close to finishing her burger. But still, if you have a main course menu item on your menu, it should be as much of a main course as other menu items. The hummus wrap was relatively cheap -- $8 compared to an average menu price of $11 -- but I would have gladly paid $11 for a wrap that had more stuff in it and filled me up so I didn't need to order a second meal. I will say the service was great. Our server was great, the manager checked on us a couple of times (we were there for 4 hours, catching up with old friends!), and afterwards when we wanted a group picture, they have a collection of signs you can pick from which was a fun addition. This is my favorite place to go, period. Angel-Ina is the best waitress ever, she never lets you go more than 10 minutes with out service between drinks, food, anything! The food is phantasmal. 1 star. My husband and I went in on a Sunday evening and as it was 91°F outside we wanted a nice cool relaxing atmosphere. Walked in to a loud, noisy, crowded area that was the same temperature inside as it was outside. They sat us in a sticky booth that was crammed up close to TWO 12 top tables. So we have 24 people right next to us. Waitress comes up and asks us what we want to drink.... being a place where they have like endless beers on tap and a bar didn't even offer or explain any drinks they had, didn't give us any recommendations, poor excuse for a waitress at a place like this. Then we asked about the A/C not working and she said she didn't know if it was and if I wanted to ask the manager to turn it down for me. Very rude. Will not be back as the place also looked filthy.
