The perfect cleaners if you work in the Point Loma area. This review is well overdue, I've used this cleaners over 15 times. They have never lost , stained or otherwise messed up any of my items. I have turned khakis , blues and whites with no issues. This cleaner has even taken care of my duvet and a large pillow. The best part is that it's open at 7am! So when you forget to pick up your clothing items like me, then you can stop on your way to work. The turn around time in minimal with just a few days, and they are often ahead or schedule. After many years of using their drycleaning services, I find them consistently good at getting stains out and doing a fine press job that lasts several wearings. The clothes also smell better than those cleaned at other establishments. My only issue is with prices, which are a bit stiff for my pocketbook. read more

This is absolutely the worst dry cleaners on earth. They absolutely ruined my birthday. Dropped in a shirt to be hemmed A WEEK AGO was supposed to be ready Friday. I came in to ask about the shirt the lady was super rude to me and said "YOULL GET A TEXT WHEN ITS READY" her husband or whatever man was nice enough to actually check for me. Literally awful. I NEVER GOT A TEXT AND ITS SATURDAY THEY ATE CLOSED AND MY BIRTHDAY IS TODAY . I am literally so angry and upset I can't wait to get my money back from this place and make sure everyone knows to never come here. Horrible customer service and horrible service, never got my shirt and on top of that, had to go to t shirt mart (they are so nice and helped me) and GET A NEW SHIRT HOURS BEFORE MY PARTY. I use this location because it is next door to Jensen's, where I regularly shop for groceries. I have had the same issue happen twice, namely; I take a bunch of the SAME shirts in and most of them are charged at $3.00 but a few are $6.80. I asked why previously and was told that the shirts were linen, had multiple pockets or for some reason, were much more difficult to press, so they had to be ironed by hand. I do not have a problem with this, but when a normal cotton shirt, with NO pockets gets charged at $6.80, whilst the rest of my bag with the same shirts get charged at $3.00, I become annoyed. read more

This is the worst dry cleaning service I've ever been to. They told me it would take 6 days for two shirts and one pair of pants. I don't mind the wait, but they said they'd text me by Tuesday at 3pm, and I never received a text. I called them at 3:30 and no answer. I called them again at 4:00pm and still no answer. I left a voicemail saying I needed my clothes by Wednesday, and no one returned my call. They also have two conflicting business hour signs put up in their front window. One says M-F 7am-6pm, Sat 9am-4pm and the other sign says M-F 10am-5pm, Sat 10am-2pm. When I confronted him about it he pointed to the poorly written paper sign and said those are his hours. Then take down the other sign! I called them AGAIN on Wednesday at 3:15pm and STILL NO ANSWER. I decided to drive there and told him no one texted me my clothes were ready. He said, "It's an automatic system it should work." Then I told him I tried calling multiple times with no response and he picked up the phone and said, "I'm here, I always pick up the phone." CLEARLY YOU DON'T. Then I brought up the conflicting store hours. I'll never go here again, and dismay anyone else who's thinking of taking their clothes here to be dry cleaned. After 30 years, I finally discovered the amazing magic of cleaners and alterations after my silly self decided to wash my laundry with chapstick. After three failed attempts to get it out and a bag of clothes in need of repair sitting in my car for two weeks I discovered Ocean Cleaners and Alterations!!! From the beginning they were all super kind and helpful, and promised my items in just 3 days (I had 10 pieces ish) and they were ready on time! My alternations were perfect, I ended up taking another item (shown in photo) that I had ordered online too large. They took the waist in and replaced the zipper, above and beyond customer service! Leave your laundry if you want it to be stained, and ruined. I'd left some laundry for the washing, fluff, and fold; upon picking up my laundry, I noted that a pair of pants had some peculiar stains on them. It appeared as if the pants had been set on something that transferred the stain into the fabric. The markings were also transferred to an undershirt that was part of my laundry. I'd post some pictures but YELP doesn't have it available for this type of business. Ruining my clothes wasn't the worst part of this experience, this "business establishment" refused to accept responsibility for ruining my clothes. It's clearly evident by the markings that the garments had been set on something that ruined them this wasn't a simple left something in the pocket that then bled onto the materials. It was very frustrating and quite perplexing that they would not acknowledge their responsibility nor demonstrate any accountability of their actions. I was so excited to have a dry cleaner within walking distance of my house. But then it's even better that they have a computer that knows me by name or phone number and it prints our detailed receipts showing all my items . . no more little slip that gets torn in half - computerized and automatic. Plus they're the only cleaners that seem to always get my little instructions right - like buttoning certain shirts to the top. They also have done little repairs (patches, button fixes, etc.) without problem. I see a bad review on this site, but perhaps it was too soon after they opened to get to know them. I've had not a single problem whatsoever. Oh, and I forgot - they support our local school (Sunset View Elementary) with an incentive program - I think that's great! read more

Mixed Reviews! This place charges $5 per item to dry-clean which is TOO much in my opinion, so I can't review that service. I had several things altered here. Two identical pairs of shorts (one denimn, one black) were bermuda length-I asked to have them made into regular length shorts, with the little notch on the sides. One pair came back with the notch, the other was just hemmed regular-no notch. Weird. Had jeans altered. They did a good job on that. Had new zipper put in skirt. Also a great job. Had summer dress straps shortened. Length was as I requested, but the sewing was not completed all the way-you can see light through the middle of the strap. HORRIBLE! Took two pairs of slacks in to be hemmed on Saturday morning, was told they would be finished by Monday at noon. Went back to pick them up Monday at 4:30 and they were finished but "at the other store", was told they would be in no later than Tuesday morning; I asked them to call me when they were in and was told "absolutely". Never got a call. Wednesday afternoon I went in to pick them up, one pair was never hemmed, the other looks like a 10 year old in home ec. did the job. I was blatantly upset but was never apologized to; they even had the nerve to STILL charge me FULL price, which was WAY too much in the first place! I am extremely disappointed with this service. This shop opened up several weeks ago and we were really looking forward to having a dry cleaner in the neighborhood. Things did not go well and based on their customer service attitude, I don't expect this to change much. The short of it is: DO NOT GO HERE! Here's what happened. I went in with three suits for dry cleaning, 11 shirts for laundry and a pair of pants to be hemmed. The guy up front was helpful, entered me in the computer and measured by pants. So far so good. It turns out that the credit card scanner wasn't working but he said someone would call to get my credit card number. This made sense (well, within reason) since I they were going to deliver the clothes and I wasn't expecting to go back anytime soon. The clothes were delivered when they said they would (except for the alteration--more on this later) and someone called to get my credit card number so everything seemed fine. I then noticed a charge of $94 dollars on my credit card. This seemed high. Since it was a week later and they still hadn't delivered my pants I decided to stop by and make sure there hadn't been a mistake. When I asked what each item cost he was a bit evasive though he did say that the alterations (basic hem on a pair of khakis) was $13 (the tailor I usually go to charges $5) and suits were $11 each (no unreasonable). He did not say this but when you do the math that means the shirts are $4.30 (give or take), which is unusually high. Still, I was willing to just let it go. That is, until I put on the pants, which were about an inch too short. I'm not sure how this happened but they were clearly shorter then when he measured them on me. When I brought them back to discuss this, he said there was nothing he could do since he hadn't left enough fabric to make any additional changes. He then suggested that it was my fault anyway. To be honest, I'm not sure what to make of this or what I expected. Sure, he'd ruined my pants but I didn't expect him to buy me a new pair. I guess I did think there should be a modicum of contrition and an offer to refund the cost of the alterations. Alas, that was not to be. And so, I do not recommend using these guys. I wanted for them to succeed but they will need to make some serious adjustments to their customer service and do a much better job with their core business. read more

The WORST costumer I've ever received. They first lost an article of clothing and when I asked them about it, they tried convincing me that I in fact was lying and that they had "video footage" of me picking up the item. Which when asked to pull up the footage, they couldn't. They never would admit to losing the item, even if they gave a simple apology would have made a huge difference. The female manager was rude and and beyond frustrating to have a conversation with. Even their OWN employees say that she is very rude and displays terrible customer service and refuses to take any accountability for her mistakes. Asked how much to clean an almost new queen comforter, was told $25. When I brought it in, price went up to $35. I pointed out 2 small stains, they had me sign some kind of disclaimer that they would follow instructions on tags. Comforter was returned with same stains, but in worse condition as there was all kinds of bunching in weird spots that would not smooth out. No indication that the stains were not removed. So essentially is ruined. Called and left message and no one returned my call. TERRIBLE or rather non-existent customer service. Will never return. read more

This is the worst dry cleaners in Point Loma. They laundered my dress after I specifically asked that it be dry cleaned. They shrunk the dress. They tell me they cannot dry clean an item if the label says to hand wash. This is a complete lie because they had dry cleaned it for me in the past. They also ruined my daughters dress. In both cases they refused any compensation. DO NOT USE this dry cleaners. They don't know what they are doing and lie. read more
