Incredibly displeased with the service here. I paid $45 for the waist of a pair of pants to be taken in and the bottom of the pants to be hemmed..... Upon arriving at home and trying on the pants I found that the pants hadn't been hemmed at the bottom and the waist was still too large. I tried them on in the store when I dropped them off for the proper alterations to be pinned and made. Like other reviews say the prices are incredibly overpriced and for such overpriced work I'd at least expect quality work to be done. I feel robbed paying $45 and the work requested wasn't even done correctly. There are plenty of other options in the area that do much better work at 1/4 or 1/2 of the price they charge and it's actually done RIGHT. I've dropped off 5 items that needed major alternations (much more complex than just the waist being taken in) and only paid around $100. read more

I came in a week or two ago to see if they would take my measurements. I am a customer to T & T and have had pants and suit jackets altered by them, and they said they'd take my measurements for $20... When I said I would just go somewhere where they do it for free, both the clerk and a guest that was there laughed at me for thinking somewhere would do it for free or cheaper. I felt stupid as I hadn't done this before but must be wrong in thinking places do it for free. I reluctantly paid $20 dollars, and the worker proceeded to take my measurements... and got them WRONG I felt like they were off so I went to men's warehouse (who did it for free) and got my correct measurements. I love that the place is locally owned, but the prices are double where you can get them anywhere else and the people were rude to me... this May not be everyone's experience, but I hope mine helps. There are lots of locally owned places to get alterations done for a fair price in Point Loma. read more

Such friendly, quality service! Sweet owner went above and beyond for me. I had a bridesmaids dress altered here, and when I got it back, I decided I wanted additional alterations (my choice, not her fault). Even though it was me who waited until the last minute, she put a rush on the extra alteration and got it back to me the very next day. Dress is absolutely perfect. Can't say enough about this place. I have been going here for 10 years so that should say something alone! I found this spot when I lived in Point Loma I've long since moved 30 minutes away and I still go to this spot. There seems like there is nothing Tan can't do. I've brought him many vintage dresses and he has done amazing work to them, his alterations look like they didn't even touch the clothes but now somehow fit perfectly. He's also such a friendly man and I recommend him highly. He and his staff are master craftsmen and women. read more

I had a wedding dress alteration emergency. I received a dress online and was too long and needed additional alterations day before a wedding I was suppose to attend. I brought my dress in at 4pm frantic, and Ta saved the day. He was able to accommodate me, and even offered to add any other alterations if necessary. Most tailors for dresses would never do that and always look for an easy way out and he was so kind. He had it ready the next morning as promised and it was perfect. The quality of alterations is good but the prices charged are close to double what the going rate is. There are plenty of choices for quality alterations at more reasonable prices. I've gone here for years but will now be using Minh's Alterations on Voltaire instead to avoid the price gouging! read more

T & T Alterations repaired the ripped cloth lining of my jacket.. The result was excellent, the cost was low, and the job was completed in just a couple of days. Last year, they also shortened the sleeves on my leather coat. Having anything in leather altered can be scary prospect, but as with the jacket lining, the result was outstanding and inexpensive. Ta Truong Q is owner. I brought a sweater in to him asking for a zipper replacement. My zipper was silver metal which matched the silver metal button trim on my sweater. Ta put a larger gold metal zipper in my sweater without calling me first to ask permission for a color change. I didn't like him getting mad at me when I requested he replace the gold zipper with silver because the gold didn't match my silver trim. Since he said he had no silver metal zippers in stock and could not order one (why not?), I agreed to let him replace the gold metal zipper with a plastic black zipper. Still not as good as having a metal silver zipper. He didn't lower the price. Still paid him $20 cash. read more

Ta is the man! He is always super friendly when anybody walks in, and his skills are on point. I initially started going here because he came highly recommended for sewing patches on Judo and BJJ gis. I have had him sew patches on about 5 of my bjj gis and he double reinforces them. I have never had an issue with them coming off. I also had him recently tailor a suit (shorten sleeves and hem pants with a mid break) that I bought at Macy's for a wedding since their in house tailor takes 10-12 days. His turnaround was 2 days and the work was top notch, and the price was right. Just be aware that he is cash only. read more
