If I could give zero stars, I would. My daughter brought in a waxed Free People coat to be cleaned -- it was a dark brown with a wax finish. When we picked it up, it was a completely different color (light brown) and the wax finish/shine was gone. When we brought this up, the woman at the front desk first asked us to pay for the cleaning, then insisted the color hadn't changed. We asked to speak to the manager, and were told he'd call us. When he finally did, he refused to take any responsibility, repeatedly said they didn't ruin it, and even suggested we contact Free People to get a letter explaining how the coat should be cleaned -- as if it was somehow our fault. There was zero apology, zero effort to make it right, and an unbelievable amount of arguing and defensiveness. The manager was rude, dismissive, and downright unprofessional. I cannot believe someone with that attitude is in charge of customer service. We left not only with a ruined coat but also with a really sour taste in our mouths. Save yourself the frustration -- take your clothes somewhere that actually stands behind their work and treats customers with respect. read more

Very nice people ! They do a great job and know how to take care of the customer ! Highly Recommend Roy's if you want it done right !

Since this place has turned over to new ownership it is unbelievably expensive Dry clean a shirt is now $6 and today I was hit with a $2 added fee for dog hair So 2 shirts and a pair of pants cleaned $21 Talked to the girl at the counter and she said it's not my business talk to the owner. He wasn't there. They have also shortened their hours. read more

Friendly, quality service. Dry Cleaning has gotten more expensive but so has everything else. I think their prices are reasonable for the times we live in. read more

TERRIBLE customer service! I took 2 jackets to get dry cleaned and when I went to pick them up, the owner said the zipper in one of them broke when he tried to close the jacket and said that he replaced the zipper. I said okay. . But then he said he was going to charge me for the zipper HE BROKE. I told him that the jacket was working fine when I dropped it off and if the zipper broke while he handled it, then I shouldn't have to pay for it. He didn't care at all and still charged me $10 for a zipper that he broke. I told him that I would never go back and he lost a new customer. He couldn't care less. Stay away from this place. They won't take accountability for their mistakes and clearly don't value their customers. read more

My boyfriend brought his new Bugatchi dress shirt that I bought him for Christmas to Roy's. My boyfriend likes to dryclean his brand new shirts before wearing them. When he went to pick up the shirt there was a small tattered hole right below the collar button. They said it was there before they dry cleaned the shirt. Ya, right?!!!! read more

Roy's Cleaners - Dry Cleaning Near Me - San Diego, California

I've been coming here since before it was Roy's and now Mr. Hui has sadly passed and the business has been sold. The service provided is what you expect from a dry cleaner but now there are worrying signs. They now open at 8 instead of 7 so you can't stop by before work. They took out the bell at the door so now you have to struggle to get someone's attention. If you don't look at your business from the customer's perspective and your competitors do, you will lose business to them. Please think about the message your changes send to your customers. read more

I was a customer of Roy's and thought I would give the new owners a try. I brought in a quilt for laundering. They said there were stains on the reverse side of my quilt when I came to pick it up but I never saw any stains. The solvent they used on the "stains " pulled color from the other side of the quilt. Granted the owner showed me the faded area but made no attempt to apologize or reduce the bill. He said the discoloration would lighten up when it's laundered again, so why didn't he try that? I will never be back that's for sure especially since this aggravating situation cost me $40! read more

I've been coming to Roy's for about 3 years since we moved to Point Loma and Roy has always been a very friendly man along with his wife. We have been very satisfied and if there were ever anything that we didn't like they immediately would fix the situation. I will keep coming here as long as I they are in business. read more

It was close to work so I thought I try it got charged 18$ for my pants to get dry cleaned brand new only used once. I picked them up and there were multiple small holes. Reading other reviews they seem to rip people off and ruin people's cloths. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I have a nice pair of pants that for an unfortunate stain. I washed them several times with no luck. I took them into Roy's, and they made them good as new. The price was low, and the service was fast. They are wizards, and I highly recommend them! :-) read more

I hate to give businesses a one star, but this guy disappointed me . I bought $40 curtains from IKea and when I went to drop them off to get them altered, he said it would be $20. He even asked me how much I paid for them. I came to pick them up and he charged me $40 for both panels. I wish he would have told me. I could have cut them myself and sown them. Please don't argue with the customer when you know you did me wrong. Not cool. read more

Roy's Cleaners - Dry Cleaning Near Me - San Diego, California

Ruined thousands of dollars worth of clothes of mine and my husbands. Clothes were not dry cleaned , simply pressed I believe and when I called and questioned him he hung up on me. We are from out of town and were suggested this place and now regret it horribly. These articles of clothing (10 items) were almost all brand new items worn only once. Had stains all over them that were not there upon dropping off. They use dirty equipment obviously because clothes came back dirtier than when dropped off. You could smell the deodorant on the clothes still & there are clearly burn marks as if they were thrown in a dryer and then ironed. Absolute waste of money & time! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! read more

They are quality people and excellent cleaners. I have been going there for over 10 years and never had anything but exceptional service. I think those having issues with the business are mostly about alterations, which is not their primary service. For cleaning they are a goto! read more

I agree with the other reviews. The owner is great. Prices are reasonable too, much cheaper for me to get my clothes cleaned here despite the drive from Downtown. I've had bad experiences in the past with dry cleaners that send their clothes out and things getting lost and in paying exorbiant fees. Also, money was left in a pair of pants and dropped off here. Upon pickup the money was in an envelope and given back. Now, that's a good trusthworthy business. read more

The first strike: they altered a dress for me...ruined it...instead of just hemming...for some reason there were holes in it...I had no time to complain because the next day I was leaving the country... Second strike: they dry cleaned a yellow jacket...yet there were still stains... Third strike: a person in the movie theater spilled diet coke on my white coat...I took it to this place...and $20 later...there were still stains.. Never again... Very disappointed. :( I wanted to support this local business. read more

Took my dry cleaning a couple times and had a great experience each time. The guy who helped me both times was super friendly. Definitely will be going back in the future to bring more of my dirty cloth...er... I mean dry cleaning :D. read more

For the record, this place is called Roy's Cleaners. Not sure if I should start a new business review, or just continue on this one. Anyway... Stopped by here for the first time since I have lived in the neighborhood for the past 2.5 years or so. Amazing service, and amazing price! I got my sport coats cleaned very fast (3-days, I wan't in any hurry, but I do think they have faster service if needed and for an additional cost) and they were cleaned and pressed very well and for an amazing price! Customer service was top notch as well! I deal with Roy (I assume) both for drop off and pick up and he was very friendly, nice and professional. I now have a great cleaner just a few blocks from my house and after seeing the amazing work and price I will no longer put off getting my coats cleaned for so long due to cost. This place is truly amazing! If you are in the area give them a chance. I do not think you will be disappointed at all. read more

I will not be back. I asked when I dropped them off. "How much?" "Oh...not much." I questioned the cost. The lady at the register asks a guy walking buy who reads the receipt to me. I paid. I told them I will never return to their store. Customer Beware. Also: Receipt States: "Rob's Cleaners" read more

It's a dry cleaner. They make my work clothes clean. But most of all, the guy that runs the place is super awesome! Even when I roll in right at (or a little after) closing he's always been cool and made sure to help me out. One time I did that and I was short on cash, so he even re-opened the credit card line for me. (Businesses have to close it out at the end of the day.) It wasn't a huge problem - but the fact that he was willing to do that no questions asked is great. read more

Based on everything here and it's waaaaay close to my work, I went and introduced myself ! I let him know it was because of yelp, I think he liked it :) Oh yeah, and dropped some shirts off too... I hope I can open everyone's eyes to how horrendous this service is. They lost my dry cleaning that I needed for a formal event. Owner acted rude, unprofessional, and very confused(as if dry cleaning isnt what he does for a living) I tried assisting him through the racks and he exploded on me about not going through others dry cleaning. I left San Diego embarrassed and without my suit and shirt. Also couldnt dress for my formal event (The reason I was in San Diego) This was in May of 2018. March 2, 2019 they call me, telling me I still have dry cleaning with them and theyre going to donate it. There's no way I can collect it so I ask them to ship it to me for free off of principle. They lost my dry cleaning, whats so crazy about having them ship it to me? The owner immediately hangs up on me. When I decide to change my mind and pay for shipping, the owner wasn't having it. He calls me crazy and hangs up again. No longer takes my calls. This shows how rude, and unprofessional he is. He was so blinded by immature and unprofessional rage that he couldnt process the fact that I was willing to pay to get my clothes back. I strongly advise you not to go here, as the owners calm demeanor is just a mere facade. read more

A bit pricy for one day service, but worth it. I got into a jam and needed a suit pressed next-day- These guys made it happen, and did a great job. Pleasant service, and although they outsource some cleanning, it's still quick and well-done. read more

I went in here at about 2:30pm on a Friday, needing the ONE HOUR service for a wedding we came into town for and this dry cleaners had shut down their machines!!! Best Dry Cleaner Ever!! Prior to coming to Mr. Hui, my family and I changed dry cleaners about every other year because our clothes would come back with tears and holes. When we asked what happened, the other places always had an excuse. We have been coming to Mr. Hui's for over five years and would drive 20 minutes one way from where were lived just to come to Mr. Hui. Never had any of the issues with our clothes we did before. Sometimes, he would notice a seam that needed fixing before we did, would just fix it and did not even charge us for it. Truly wonderful service!! read more

Horrible service! I don't recommend this place. I will never go back here. They charged me for dry cleaning and they didn't even do it... The only thing they did was press my dresses. I told the man behind the counter that I paid for all my dresses to be dry cleaned and I could see that they did not do that... He stated that he didn't have time and he went on a rant saying that everybody wants their clothes done on Thursday... I reminded him that I dropped off my clothes on Monday and they had 3 and half days to dry clean them. The man offered to clean 1 of the 3 dresses I brought in..which is ridiculous because I brought 3 in, he then proceeded to yank one of the dresses out of my hands. At that point I told him to return my dress to me because he was being very aggressive and rude. The man then started yelling that he wasn't giving me my money back. I was blown away I took my clothes and left I will never do business there again.. read more
