I have gone several times over many years for alterations to Minh's. The last 3 times I have noticed a change. She constantly complains that it is too much work. This last time, when I tried on my pants, I asked her how much it would cost and she said $20 which she wrote down on my ticket. When I called to see if it was ready she told me I owed $28. When I questioned her she said $25. When I went into her store, I showed her the ticket. She commented she had to cut alot of material off my pants to alter it. I told her that I initially tried my pants on and she was aware of the work involved. Paid her $20 and went on my way. I don't need or want the hassle of going to someone who complains about the work involved and wants to upcharge for their services. No thank you. I will find a new tailor to give my business to for alterations. read more

Even if you don't live in Ocean Beach, Minh is worth traveling for. She did a same-day alteration to shorten my dress by two inches and thank goodness she fit me in because some of the venue ended up being in wet grass. Thank you Minh! read more

Not sure if that's Minh or not who runs the store, but I've been in a few times to ask for alterations on the waistband of my scrubs and a skirt. One of the pieces that needed to be hemmed had a non-standard seam so she mentioned it was a lot of extra work to hem the pant. Minh was incredibly sweet and true to her word! I dropped my bridesmaid dress off to be altered about 2 weeks before the wedding. She had it done in 10 days and when I arrived back to try it on she said she had to press it, but that I could wait. She seemed busy and I wasn't in a hurry so I told her to hang onto it and I'd be back the following day. In that time, she had added inserts to the top (which helped tremendously), and it was pressed perfectly. Minh didn't tell me she was adding the cups, she didn't have to do that for me. It was an extremely kind gesture on her behalf. The dress was pretty intricate and she altered it nicely without disrupting the pattern. Total was $75 and while that is pretty lofty, I think it was fair for the amount of work she put in. I highly recommend Minh! read more

Best seamstress in OB. She's incredibly sweet, does a great job, and charges reasonable prices. I've had suits, sport jackets, pants and button downs altered. For my jackets, she made them more fitted (less boxy), and shortened the sleeves and bottom. She will also rush things for you when she can. Generally, you're looking at about a 3-5 business day turnaround, which is pretty quick by my standards. read more

Minh is honestly one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. She's super hardworking as well and determined to get your work done to your specifications. My girlfriend had some ripped seams in her knit coat that she just bought. They were pretty bad and I didn't really have hope that any one could fix it up. Minh however was up for the task and while it took almost three weeks to complete, it was as good as new! It honestly felt like a miracle! For the smaller stuff, she usually says it can be done in 2-3 days, but I'm never in a rush. I've given her, I think, about 6 different pieces of clothing so far and I've been happy with the results every time. She's a bit out of my way in terms of local accessibility, but I find myself in Point Loma often enough so that the trip is worth it. read more

I wouldn't take my clothes anywhere else for any alterations - large or small. Most recently, I had a bridesmaid dress that fit like a nightmare. The moron who ordered it for me must not have known how to work a tape measure, because this dress was way too big. It was strapless, and wouldn't even stay up without me holding it. It was all bunchy and weird and too big around the bust. The waist line was non-existent. Minh saved me from looking like a chump. I went from loathing the dress to actually liking it thanks to Minh. And, she got the job done in about a week right smack in the middle of June - prime wedding season. Very reasonable prices and high quality work.
