Not sure if that's Minh or not who runs the store, but I've been in a few times to ask for alterations on the waistband of my scrubs and a skirt. I brought in some items to be tailored for my wedding and Minh did exceptional work. One of the pieces that needed to be hemmed had a non-standard seam so she mentioned it was a lot of extra work to hem the pant. After seeing the reviews on this place, I went there to have a brand new dress altered (I wanted the slit in front to be much smaller) and she did a perfect job. Minh was incredibly sweet and true to her word! I dropped my bridesmaid dress off to be altered about 2 weeks before the wedding. She had it done in 10 days and when I arrived back to try it on she said she had to press it, but that I could wait. She seemed busy and I wasn't in a hurry so I told her to hang onto it and I'd be back the following day. In that time, she had added inserts to the top (which helped tremendously), and it was pressed perfectly. Minh didn't tell me she was adding the cups, she didn't have to do that for me. It was an extremely kind gesture on her behalf. The dress was pretty intricate and she altered it nicely without disrupting the pattern. Total was $75 and while that is pretty lofty, I think it was fair for the amount of work she put in. I highly recommend Minh! read more

Best seamstress in OB. She's incredibly sweet, does a great job, and charges reasonable prices. I've had suits, sport jackets, pants and button downs altered. For my jackets, she made them more fitted (less boxy), and shortened the sleeves and bottom. She will also rush things for you when she can. Generally, you're looking at about a 3-5 business day turnaround, which is pretty quick by my standards. read more

Minh is honestly one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. She's super hardworking as well and determined to get your work done to your specifications. My girlfriend had some ripped seams in her knit coat that she just bought. They were pretty bad and I didn't really have hope that any one could fix it up. Minh however was up for the task and while it took almost three weeks to complete, it was as good as new! It honestly felt like a miracle! For the smaller stuff, she usually says it can be done in 2-3 days, but I'm never in a rush. I've given her, I think, about 6 different pieces of clothing so far and I've been happy with the results every time. She's a bit out of my way in terms of local accessibility, but I find myself in Point Loma often enough so that the trip is worth it. read more

I wouldn't take my clothes anywhere else for any alterations - large or small. Most recently, I had a bridesmaid dress that fit like a nightmare. The moron who ordered it for me must not have known how to work a tape measure, because this dress was way too big. It was strapless, and wouldn't even stay up without me holding it. It was all bunchy and weird and too big around the bust. The waist line was non-existent. Minh saved me from looking like a chump. I went from loathing the dress to actually liking it thanks to Minh. And, she got the job done in about a week right smack in the middle of June - prime wedding season. Very reasonable prices and high quality work. I think I paid about $60 for multiple alterations to the bust, waist, and length. read more
