I LOVE THIS PLACE! I have been to almost all of the laundry spots in O.B. (and a little bit of P.L.) and this one is the BEST! First and foremost, they have a variety of washer types....from the small top loaders for $3 all the way up to a gigantic 5 load front loader for $6.50. They've got them all! They are all competitively priced with some being cheaper than the surrounding laundromats. Furthermore, the washers appear either new or well maintained. They also appear CLEAN and sanitary, which is more than I can say for other places I have done laundry at in the area. Another thing that is great is the fact that you get what it says you are getting- hot water, warm water, or cold. No bullsh*tt like many of the other spots. There are lots of big, CLEAN dryers that actually dry your stuff. I have yet to take out shopping wet stuff from a dryer that I have just had going for half an hour. Nor has any of my items come out burned or melted-I have NEVER witnessed an actual fire in the back of the dryer as my clothes were turning in the foreground.(yes, this actually happened to me at another O.B.laundromat)There are two types of dryers older ones 5 min. for .25 or newer, larger dryers which are 4min for .25. On the whole, the place is huge and be believe it or not, it is probably the cleanest laundromat in the area. I always see one of the employees mopping or wiping things down when they have some spare time. The change machines always seem to be working and they have a well stocked machine where you can purchase detergent, booster, and liquid or sheet softener. It's cool that they not only have a drink machine with $1.00 sodas but they have a variety of snacks in the snack machine as well. There is a laundry attendant available and a window where you can purchase a wide variety of laundry products which is open M-Th 9am - 8:30pm, F-Su 9am-3pm. There is also a fluff and fold service available. (I haven't used it so I can't comment on it, sorry!) The employees are all kind as well as helpful. More than once they have stayed open a few minutes late for me to finish drying and not once did they ever make me feel like sh*t for doing so. Oh yeah, they always have good tunes playing so you can rock out while you are folding your stuff. The whole experience makes doing dreaded laundry not so bad! The only reason(s) I didn't give 5 stars are: 1) I wish they stayed open later 10 pm close with last wash at 8:30 pm 2)The parking thing is a little weird-I actually got a ticket from the ace parking people because I parked in a spot that was right out front, but apparently not for the laundromat. Otherwise it's $3 for 2 hours at the laundromat w/validation. I will definitely walk 5 blocks out of my way to do laundry here because it's worth it! read more

Well to start I've actually never really been to a laundry mat.... Till today. I actually having been using my crappy apartment complex washing machine for the past year and decided to give OB Coin Laundry a shot. Honestly great machines. Ya a few were out of order but understandable. The gentleman working was great to talk with and helped me with anything I needed. Next time I'm definitely going with Fluff and Fold. I'm going to feel horrible dropping off my tons of laundry but he said he'd be happy to do it. Don't waste your time with the small annoying apartment machines. Go to OB Coin Laundry. Worth every penny. I was honestly more happy that they took credit card than anything. Hated having to get quarters for my apartment machines that jam and never ever work. read more

If you have do laundry someplace other than your house go to OB Coin Laundry. It's always clean, the washers and dryers work and you have the option to super size your load if haven't done laundry in a month. The newer machines give you the option to pay with a card so you don't have to stand there feeding quarters into the machine and the dryers work fast. Kyle and Amy are both really friendly and never makes you feel bad if your clothes need a few extra minutes to dry. I appreciate how nice they are every time I see them. read more

I've had so many good experiences at OB Coin Laundry since they have undergone new management! It is so much cleaner and the service is great. It seems like someone is present most of the time which is super helpful for any questions or if you run into any issues with the machines! They are currently working on all of the washing/drying machines, and they recently added a register that accepts credit cards. All of the employees have been very helpful as well. OB Coin Laundry has recently undergone new ownership and you can certainly tell! The whole vibe is very community oriented and the owners are always around to help which is a nice change of pace! Ripped off by high priced malfunctioning washer. $2.75 speed queen top loading washer. Okay, load it up, select warm normal. Wants another quarter, I guess for warm water? Feed it, it fills up with ice cold water and only a 22 min cycle. (Wonderland on abbott st. same machine is 2.50 any wash temp 27 min wash) Clothes dont get clean in cold water. Weak! read more

Seems a bit better since the new ownership, but they have a serious problem with bums in here. Currently there is a man organizing his things on the tables for folding clothes followed by shaving his face in the sink used for hand washing... They need to have attendents here during the hours they are open because the homeless treat this place as a hang out spot and it's encouraged me and mostl likely many others to go elsewhere for laundry. read more

I haven't used a laundromat in decades so I forgot what to expect. This place was clean and large enough for everyone to have personal space and spread out to fold their clothes. A regular load will dry with $1- so their machines are pretty good. Some of them are Out Of Order but it looks like they are taking the time to fix them. My boyfriend helped the new cashier lady print out a receipt for THEIR records since he had his emailed to him. They are super sweet and kind workers there. We've been back multiple times. TIP: you can walk to CVS to purchase your favorite detergent if they don't carry it. Mary Jane, our pup, stayed outside since HAIRicane dogs should NOT be near clean clothes . Lol read more

This place is HORRIFIC! I live two blocks from here but I drive to another facility since thus place is so bad. I caved in today and decided to see if things had gotten better. Uh no! The machines I used were top loaders and both of them started the wash cycle with just TWO inches of water. The price had gone up as well. This is exactly why I don't come here. I'm a fool to think the owners have enough integrity to provide machines that work properly. Personal character is everything. People shouldn't own businesses such as this one if they don't care enough to serve the community honestly. Shameful. read more

Moved here recently and is my first time at a coin laundry. I was reading the directions to operate the washer machine, which was in the same vicinity that the woman cleaning the floors was in. She became absolutely hostile because I happened to be standing in the direction she was coming with the mop. No need to have a meltdown that two people might need to occupy the same space, I would have gladly moved out of the way had I realized you needed me to move. OB coin laundry is great. After using a few other mats in the area I found OB Coin. This place is always very clean and most of the time I am there a staff member is onsite, which makes me feel safe and keeps homeless people out. This place also has WiFi and large TV's with sports packages, this makes my time there go quick! read more

I am always hesitant to add a review after visiting a place only once. However, I am also a firm believer that if you are going to own a business that deals with customers, then have some customer service skills (or at least someone working for you that does). I am giving this place two stars based on the fact that they have their own parking area and there are a lot of machines. Upon entering, we noticed that several of the machines had "out of order" signs on them. We places our laundry into one of the "working" machines. However, after inserting our 10 quarters ($2.50 per wash), the machine would not start. We told the female owner, who proceeded to ask us several times if we had inserted all the money. Now mind you, the machine has a clear digital countdown on the front (10 to 00) to let you know the amount of quarters you have entered. We repeatedly answered "yes" and pointed to the 00 countdown. She begrudgingly walked off and brought us a stack of quarters as a refund and told us to use another machine. I originally gave her some slack assuming her attitude was more to do with the non-functioning machine. We started entering the money only to find that she had only given us 8 quarters back. We let her know about the insufficient refund and she, again, acted like we were lying. She not only rolled her eyes but spoke under her breath and slammed down the extra 50 cent onto the counter and told us to "come get it". Come on now. I had a bag full of quarters with me. Why would I try to "cheat" you out of 50 cent? Needless to say, I will not be giving any more of my money to this business. read more

Usually go to wonderland laundry but there was no parking and I had quite a fee loads to carry. This laundromat is way more expensive and their "high capacity" wouldn't even hold a comparable load to the high cap. at wonderland. The price per load is more expensive but I suppose they need to pay rent. read more

This place LOOKS ok when you first walk in, but the people who work here are often rude and pushy. The sign on the door / window claims that "Last Wash" is 10 pm and closing is at 11 pm. Call me crazy - but this leads me to believe that as long as you are out before 11 pm they would leave you alone. Definitely NOT the case at OB Coin Laundry. If you dare still be waiting for your precious clothes to dry within 15 minutes of said closing time, you will be harassed, and scolded like a little child. You will a hear a voice with thick Spanish accent yell rudely "I AM READY TO LEAVE". Now it's bad enough that she says it even though its obvious that I'm finishing up, but she if very rude about it. I would recommend Launderland across the street, they are nice people! read more

I always come here for laundry, it's really big and open. Also it is located right next to Newport in OB so you can walk over to the beach, or shop, or grab some food while you wait for your laundry to finish. They also have their own parking. read more

On a good day this facility is clean and there are plenty of machines available for everyone. But it seems like the owners spend the minimum of money to maintain the machines and they are breaking down constantly. This would be ok if you did not have to find out by your washing still being dirty after a cycle or your laundry still being soaking wet after an hour in the dryer on high heat. There is a sign on the window saying "free soap" but there is rarely soap in there to use for free. In fact I have been ripped off by the soap dispenser twice! The nice thing is that the liquor store across the street owns the laundret and whnever I have lost money they have always reimbursed me. There are much better places to wash clothes in OB. But if you have commercial washing to do the Voltaire coin-op laundry is a good option with the biggest machine only $3.00 a load. read more
