Love this place however it has become a commercial laundromat. There is a company that comes in and takes all the washers and dryers nearly daily. Guessing it's a hotel? It's all white sheets and yellow cleaning towels. It's very frustrating and making most of us leave. Not to mention today there was this mess here. It's become laundry wars. There should be commercial hours or no commercial wash allowed. Also the parking lot is filled with van lifers so that's real fun to find parking. Management, do better. Washing machine #25 processed my Apple Cash payment and when I went to push the green start button it gave me a code and wouldn't start. I checked my Apple Cash balance and the payment went through but the wash never started. It prompted to tap my card again to start the wash which I did and it continued to do the same thing. I spent $12.50 on the washer without my clothes being washed. I tried calling the number for the location but it went straight to dial tone. read more

I really appreciate a clean environment to do my laundry in. This laundromat is always clean, has all of the sizes of machines to handle whatever laundry I need done and there is parking available right outside the door! The other bonus is that every machine has a credit card reader to make it really easy. Ample space for folding clothes, too!! Oh....and it is within walking distance to everything from coffee to the beach so you don't have to wait inside if you don't want to. read more

Very clean, numerous washing machines for different sized loads AND all machines now have a credit/debit card payment device. The only downside is that the card machines don't always work on the dryers. For instance, I paid for 28 minutes but the machine only workd for 7 minutes. Quarters are the way to go with the dryers. Aside from that it's a good laundromat with convenient hours and half sanitizer for customers. read more

Clean and convenient! Was in San Diego on business layover and wanted to do a load of clothes quickly. Launderland was open late and the credit card option made payment a snap. Only critique would be adding time to the dryer was a little confusing at first. Would definitely return. read more

I've never used a laundromat before, but this place was fairly quick and hassle-free. I chose this place because there are card readers on all the machines. Although there's a change machine, I didn't want to get cash back at a store and carry a bunch of spare coins. There are different machines that cost between $2.75-$5 per wash cycle, and the dryers cost $0.25/7 minutes. Reading the past reviews, I bought some detergent from Target because I didn't think there were vending machines to sell soap and softener. However, if you're visiting from out of town and don't wanna spend a ton of money on laundry stuff, this place has a vending machine that sells detergent and softener. Overall, this place was clean and decent. Trying to park in the parking lot was challenging since they share half the lot with Autozone (which is reserved for Autozone customers only). There is street parking available, but it is in a very busy part of town so it is limited. read more

The best Laundromat in OB. The new owners are incredibly nice and a local family. They even put their teenager to work for her allowance! Love it! All new machines. Some people are saying it's a little more expensive for the wash but if you cost it out per load on the larger machines it is the same price as others in OB. They also are far cleaner. I am not afraid my clothes will be destroyed by rust or never drying. Keep up the good work! read more

It's a friggin laundromat... I've seen people here cleaning... so that is a star. They have a sound system playing classic rock... yet another star. I've never encountered any malfunctioning machines... STAR! No liquor store immediately next door to provide impulse laundry beers... no star. This place looks nice, but don't be fooled. Every single time we have come here, either the card readers aren't online, the washers don't drain the clothes, or the dryers don't heat. Also the quarter machine spit out 1 dollar in nickels with a 5 dollar bill so after multiple attempts with the card reader i had to go to the atm, take out 20 just to have to go to CVS buy something to make change and try my luck again with the quarter machine. Again it spit out 2 nickels!!! Rip off!! Stop robbing locals of their time and money. Try running a legit business! read more

This is a pretty clean place and fairly priced. The machines are maintained and I really like their Mega Load machine. I wish they had at least one more. Minus one star for not having a sink or paper towels.. but I'm sure the homeless would abuse this like they do everywhere else there is water and paper towels. I hate all laundromats but this one is OK. They have free powder laundry detergent (it's only been empty on one of my visits) so that's a bonus. They have a couple of plastic patio chairs so you can sit outside while waiting. They also have a picnic table and a couple benches inside. There are two change machines and a soda machine. The table usually has some magazines to flip through. The place is usually not crowded and I have never had to wait for a machine. Last time I checked, it is a quarter less per load than the laundromat next to Subway. read more

I still have not received a call back from the owner, Steve Billings. I have left him several messages and also sent him an email. I have spoken to the OB Town Council, and plan to file a report with the BBB if this cannot be resolved. I went by the laundromat today in hopes somebody who worked there could help me out with this issue. I spoke to Randy, who does work with the laundromat, but was his day off. He was friendly and still listened to my experience. Ironically another upset customer was on the phone with Steve at the time, he lost money as the washer was not using hot water when it should be (the same problem another customer had the day my clothes were shrunk). I am assuming that never was fixed. There was not even a sign up informing customers of this issue. Randy then got on the phone call after the customer talked to Steve and he let him know I was there with receipts of my ruined clothing. Steve told him he got my email and will write me back. He has had almost a week to respond to it, as well as the many voicemails I left for him. The number to the laundromat is still "disconnected or is no longer in use". I am not holding my breath he will call me back or try and remedy the situation. I am still very upset at him mocking me for not having a job. I did inform him on one of my messages that the reason I am looking for a job is that I just completed chemotherapy and radiation for breast cancer. Since handling all of that, I could not work. Therefore I do not have any extra money whatsoever to go purchase even more new clothing for interviews. The only thing that I did wrong was try to support a local business, trust that this was a legitimate laundromat and the equipment would work as it should. Walking around it today there are numerous signs of machines out of order, coins not working in machines, or heat is too high (ironically not on the dryer that ruined my clothes). I never had taken clothes out of a "low heat" setting and it was so hot I had to drop them. The place is even more dirty than the last time I was in there. Cigarette butt on the floor and it doesn't look like it was mopped in two years. If you drop a clean article of clothing on the floor on accident, it's something you would definitely have to wash again, in hot water (if there is any). I will update this long review once (or if) I have any new information. Avoiding the customer does not do anybody any good. I cannot move forward myself until I can purchase new clothing for interviews. This is greatly hindering my progress. The clothing that was ruined was ordered online. It can take a couple of weeks to receive, only making this situation drag out even longer and putting me at a standstill that I can't afford to have. Having cancer isn't cheap and I did not budget to have to purchase new clothing because of going to a laundromat with faulty machines and an owner who does not care, and is very rude. Update: The owner finally agreed to settle, because of that I added an extra star. read more

Yikes. Tried it once won't go back. "No hot water" there has been this notice for about a year. This is a hangout place for homeless. That's fine, if they are doing laundry, but they aren't. When I was there last time someone accused me of stealing their cell phone--and pointed at my phone saying it was theirs! It was kind of scary--like hey I'm just here to do laundry! Also a few of the dryers don't work. And a lot of washers don't either (at least the washers usually have signs) . read more

Launderland OB is great! The new owners are very nice and the place is always clean. Its not the closet laundry to our house but coming to this location is worth the trip. They have HUGE washers and dryers for those extra large loads and large amount of washers in a variety of sizes. The machines are brand new and always clean! t's nice and quiet and never too crowded. The machine ate my $5 and I immediately emailed the owners. They responded and came down in less than 10 minutes, issued the missing bill and fixed the machine! Love this place and happy to see the new owners have really changed this place around! read more

14 quarters for one wash load - yeah that's only $3.50, but that's only ONE load of wash. 25 cents for every 7 minutes of drying - ouch. This place broke my bank. Also, a nice guy that was also there doing his laundry gave me some friendly advice not to leave, because its likely that your clothes will be stolen. It is OB, so that is to be expected. Nevertheless, hanging out at the laundromat waiting for your laundry is never fun. But hey, they have FREE soap! read more

Launderland is WAY better than the other laundrymat! They play awesome music. Best of all, they don't get pissed at you 10 minutes before closing and try to make you leave like the other one across the street. Washing is 1.75 and drying is 25 cents per 7 minutes. read more
