Since my work hours are off, I am always trying to do or find stuff open late at night. Again, I was an adventure to find a late night laundromat. The soapy ferret is located in Linda Vista, which is actually a pretty nice quiet neighborhood.. I still like the old-school feel of using quarters and washing machine. They also accept credit card. This location has an ATM. Almost all the machines were in working order. The place overall was very very clean. I was helped by Diana "D". She really did keep the place nice and tidy. "D". is very hard working but most of all kind. Sometimes a smile from a truly kind person can change your day!

This is such a clean laundromat! I came here on Christmas to do loads of laundry. The prices are better than most laundromats I've gone to. The big machines make it easy to do large loads. Not to mention they have smaller machines for the small loads too. I already had payrange on my phone which helps with wireless payment. You could use quarters too if you want. There is some parking spots in the front of the storefront but it is right off the busy road. If you want more safe parking, there is a lot right next door for free. I saw that they offer laundry services too in case you want someone to do laundry for you.

Problem Solved with Large Load Machines. 6Load Washing Machines were Very Helpful. There are 4 of 6Load Washing Machines. I appreciate!!!

We were traveling from out of town (8 hours away!) and were so happy to stumble upon The Soapy Ferret. Although the facility looks a bit older, it was well maintained and clean. Diana was so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. It's rare to find a laundromat that feels this cared for. Thank you, Diana, for keeping the place so tidy and friendly!

First time using this laundry mat. Went on yelp to find laundry mats open a little later since my dryer is currently undergoing repairs and the laundry mat by my house Chas last wash at 7:45pm. Got here at 8:20pm last wash is at 8:30. Diana and Julia were super kind, patient and friendly. I genuinely appreciate their positive attitude. Laundry mat is super clean and the staff is wonderful would highly recommend.

Clean, modern, great dryers, Apple Pay AND genuinely nice people?! I think I found my new…read morelaundromat. My usual laundromat was randomly closed on Sunday, so I had a whole car full of clothes and bedding with nowhere to go. This has happened before, and I've been meaning to find a backup, but every other place I'd tried either didn't take cards or had those evil dryers that somehow require 17 cycles and STILL leave your clothes damp. So I did what any reasonable person would do and went on Yelp to figure out where the Señoras would go- because they do NOT play when it comes to their laundry. This place popped up, had great pictures, took cards, and looked clean, so I figured, "Welp, I'm already here. Let's see what happens." When I walked in, I immediately started looking around trying to figure out where the heck you actually pay and how everything worked. Joshua noticed me looking confused, I told him it was my first time, and he walked me through the whole place. He showed me the Laundry Boss app, which is honestly so futuristic compared to the old-school quarter situation. You scan the QR code on the machine, set up your account, load money using Apple Pay, and start your machine right from your phone. As someone who never carries cash, I was SOLD. Joshua also let me know they have a drop-off laundry service (I always assumed that was one of those things that costs an arm and a leg, so I'd never even looked into it) but the pricing seemed reasonable especially if you can pick it up the next day, I always assumed it took several days, And everything gets washed, dried, perfectly folded and packed up for you- They can even drive to you and pick up your laundry from your house! I could see this being really helpful for mom's with kids at home and busy schedules or people like me who waited too long and now have to wash clothes, towels and bedding at the same time Joshua was super kind and genuinely seemed to enjoy helping people. While my laundry was going, I wandered around and started reading all the funny plaques on the walls and noticed this big "Hero Among Us" plaque and Joshua told me the story behind the owner, who apparently is very involved in the community -- doing turkey giveaways, coaching at the local high school, and actually coming into the laundromat during the week to make sure everything is running smoothly. And honestly, you can tell. While I was folding my clothes, I watched Joshua greeting other customers by name and chatting with some of the older folks. He clearly takes pride in what he does, and the whole place has this feeling that it's actually for the community, rather than just being another giant laundry chain where you're fighting with a broken machine over your last three quarters. Also, THE MACHINES. Everything I used was clean and working, and the dryers actually DRY YOUR CLOTHES. I didn't have to put anything through multiple cycles, which should honestly be the bare minimum but apparently isn't. They also have these really cool laundry baskets where one side is higher than the other, making it way easier to pull everything out of the washers without your clothes tumbling onto the floor. It's such a small detail, but when you're washing a million things, little details matter. The location is convenient too. There's an ice cream shop, Mexican food, and this funky little shop next door that seems to sell approximately EVERYTHING. So if you need something to do while your laundry is running (or phone dies) you've got options. My only feedback: I was VERY excited to see they had snacks and sodas because I spotted a Cactus Cooler and I swear I haven't had one in forever. Unfortunately, those were exact-change only. I never have coins on me, so I had to walk away from that Cactus Cooler and I'm still thinking about it. But now I know. Next time, I'm bringing quarters AND my laundry. I originally came here because my usual place was closed, but I left thinking this might actually be my new spot. Clean machines, dryers that do their ONE JOB, easy Apple Pay, thoughtful little details, fair drop-off pricing, and employees who actually seem to care about the people coming through the door. 10/10 would voluntarily do laundry here again. ++(Bonus points if you find the bobble head of Mr Boss Man )

By far the best laundromat I've ever been to! I mean, maybe there's some swanky wine bar…read morelaundromats up in La Jolla, but I've never ventured that far to wash a few comforters. But most importantly, why is it called a "laundromat" instead of "laundrymat" anyway??? Dave runs a smooth ship, as this is one of the nicest and cleanest laundromats I have ever been to. They have your standard regular sized washers, but they also have giant 6 and 8 load machines that will have all of your blankets and comforters cleaned in a jiffy. So fresh and so clean clean. I was able to wash a large comforter, too big for a standard washer, along with another very large blanket and 3 standard "back of the couch" sized blankets in one of the 6 load washers for $9.25. Did I mention that they take cards? Although they do have a quarters machine (accepts $1s, $5s, and $10s), both the washers and dryers are one credit card swipe away from spinning their hearts out. It may not sound like much, but who wants to be stuck depositing 37 quarters to get that tumbler in motion. The dryers are seemingly new, very large, and quite fast. I was able to get all 5 items dryed in about 35 minutes while using two separate dryers. The dryers are run in short time increments, so it's no longer necessary to purchase a full 45 minute run when you only need a quick 20 minute dry. If you're pressed for time, take advantage of the fluff and fold laundry service that is $2lb for same day or $1.85lb for next day service. Conveniently, they also have laundry detergent for sale in case you forget your own. Dave, the owner, was really helpful with assisting me in determining the appropriately sized washer for my load, which was greatly appreciated. Not only did his doing so save me time, but it also saved me some cash. Thanks again Dave!

I forgot to bring my credit card but the attendant was super helpful and helped me resolve that issue. The ac is slightly lacking but there are fans and it probably would be fine when we're not in a heatwave. Dryers worked well. My comforters were about 85/90% dry after 16 mins. Overall, a good experience. They also have the HUGE washers so if you have anything large and heavy, they could definitely accommodate.
