By far the best laundromat I've ever been to! I mean, maybe there's some swanky wine bar laundromats up in La Jolla, but I've never ventured that far to wash a few comforters. But most importantly, why is it called a "laundromat" instead of "laundrymat" anyway??? Dave runs a smooth ship, as this is one of the nicest and cleanest laundromats I have ever been to. They have your standard regular sized washers, but they also have giant 6 and 8 load machines that will have all of your blankets and comforters cleaned in a jiffy. So fresh and so clean clean. I was able to wash a large comforter, too big for a standard washer, along with another very large blanket and 3 standard "back of the couch" sized blankets in one of the 6 load washers for $9.25. Did I mention that they take cards? Although they do have a quarters machine (accepts $1s, $5s, and $10s), both the washers and dryers are one credit card swipe away from spinning their hearts out. It may not sound like much, but who wants to be stuck depositing 37 quarters to get that tumbler in motion. The dryers are seemingly new, very large, and quite fast. I was able to get all 5 items dryed in about 35 minutes while using two separate dryers. The dryers are run in short time increments, so it's no longer necessary to purchase a full 45 minute run when you only need a quick 20 minute dry. If you're pressed for time, take advantage of the fluff and fold laundry service that is $2lb for same day or $1.85lb for next day service. Conveniently, they also have laundry detergent for sale in case you forget your own. Dave, the owner, was really helpful with assisting me in determining the appropriately sized washer for my load, which was greatly appreciated. Our hotel didn't have laundry facilities on site and I found this lil neighborhood gem a half mile up the street, I came very early on a Sunday morning to do my laundry before heading back home. An attendant was on site and immediately directed me as to which washer to use that accepted credit cards. Seems to be located in a very decent neighborhood with local residents patronizing this mat, as it may be older but in good shape and unlike your typical hood rat mats where you feel unsafe. read more

Had such a great experience here today. Had a couple larger items to wash and there were many options and different sizes of washers and dryers. The employees were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. Matt initially helped me and walked me through the process and let me know Steve would be on shift next. Steve helped me by recommending the best dryers for my items and was just so kind with recommendations and in general. This business feels like a great local shop that truly cares about people. When your washing machine breaks and you need to get the laundry done, you try various laundry mats until you find what you like. I just finished working, and I didn't want the laundry to pile up. Off I went. I didn't have high expectations. Let me tell you how wrong I was. There was this lovely gentleman there. He showed me the ins and outs of how to use the credit card on the washing machine, and when it was time for the dryer, he did the same. He then went around to all the surfaces and sanitized them, and then washed the floor. Who does that! I'm so impressed! The wash was 4.75, and drying was about 1.00. Plus, it was super quick and didn't eat my day up. Until I can I can repair or replace my machine I will be coming here from now on. read more

Cleanest laundromat downtown/ bankershill .The Staff is soooo nice and take pride in keeping it clean & free of anyone loitering around. I've come day and night and always felt safe .the owner is very cool too you can tell he is hands on making sure everything is running smoothly. they keep all the machines so clean not smelling like mildew ,all the machines are also maintenance and always working perfectly. Also whats great is the variety in sizes of washers and theres always plenty of dryers available. First of all, the dryer has this tiny little sign that's taped and old and faded about setting the dryer time. It didn't even really caught my eyes so I didn't even see it. Ok maybe that's my fault. But how are you going to approach your customer by rudely telling if I can't read? And he started going off saying I've been watching you on my camera etc WTF? Freaking rude. The person that was working there was extremely rude and very expansive for an old run down laundromat.

I have been coming here over the years and under the new ownership, this place has turned around to a CLEAN and SAFE place. Talk about upgrade! The owner (David) keeps adding the "touch" to make sure the place is very welcoming and tackling long-awaited maintenance going and Steve always on the look out for the customers and the smooth operation so to keep the place spic and span all the time. So it's like these two are a perfect match made in heaven to run this place together. Before they acquired this business, this place was a rut- Barely clean place to wash and dry. A lot of traffic from the transients leaving place smelly and trashy some days but I no longer see that as Dave & Stave take care of it all. I haven't had someone stealing my clothes from the dryer but when I forget to pick up my laundry, they were kind enough to bag them for me to pick up the next day. A couple weeks ago the business put up a letter stating that due to an increase in gas prices, they were increasing the cost of the machines. that's fair. they stated they wanted to be transparent and it is true that the cost of gas increased significantly. but since then, gas costs have dropped significantly and now customers from sdge are receiving credits and lower prices. I just find it interesting that now they are not being transparent and lowering the cost of their machines. read more

Great that I can use a card for the machines, but nowadays you can do that most anywhere. It seems that post Covid, the world believes that people no longer need to use restrooms, this place included. Laundromats are a service industry, the ability to use a restroom while waiting is not optional in a properly running "service establishment". The room in the back used to be a restroom, but now the owner will tell you there isn't one....I suppose you should skip your coffee before coming here...or do what I will and go elsewhere from now on. I'll admit that my visit to this facility, was the first time that I've been to a laundry mat before. The coin slot on my washer gave out, my cleaning lady was coming in a few hours and I had to get my lauundry done! My neighbor recommended that I come here, he said that it was expensive, but that it was a nice spot. I thought it over in my head and said, heck...why not. So I loaded all of my clothes and sheets into a suitcase and wheeled away to Sunshine cleaners. When I arrived I was greeted by the nicest last but I can't remember her name (she was working this past Mon afternoon). Seeing that I was very puzzled and confused, she was nice enough to assist me. Each load is $2.75 and a dry is 25 cents. The single quarter for the dryer only last 6 months so really, each wash and dry is $4.00. The machines are up to date and I will say, got some serious stains out of some pants that I have. The dryers are quicker than the ones that you own, as they're commercial dryers. I don't know that a laundry mat can be a 5 star place but again, I can't compare this place to any other. But if a place is clean, staff is friendly and I leave happy...then that's a 5 star kind of place! read more

I like this place and use it whenever I want to wash a bedspread or something bulky. It's clean and the machines are in good shape. I like that you can use a CC and the location is convenient. A front loading machine gets clothes so much cleaner and is more gentle to fabric so this is where I go. The new owner is nice so I have no complaints at all. Good Mexican food and a classic dive bar in the same lot. read more

My favorite place in San Diego to get my laundry done. I have been to two laundromats closer to my house and no matter what washer I chose it always smelled moldy or like go gone, which obviously transferred on to my clothes. They take credit cards which is amazing, no more having to go to the bank to get a roll of quarters and I don't have to buy a laundry card. Prices are actually cheaper than most surrounding laundromats. I paid 5.25$ for one small load of laundry, it is 2.50$ here. Right next to a taco place and a dive bar. I mean cmon. Grab a beer and a burrito and I'm able to chill out while my laundry gets done. I drive 10 mins, just to come here. read more

Overpriced! Washers are honestly illusions to make you think you're getting more laundry in bigger and more expensive machines but honestly they're going to be overpriced. My laundry got stolen there and I reached out but the owner wouldn't send me the video and wanted to make it seem like it was impossible to review the footage (I'm going to assume the owner is the one because he gave the ick tbh). Meh . . . It's a laundromat. Nothing special, but it gets the job done. It is kind of pricey and definitely no frills. I honestly only come here for the ATM, which dispenses $10 and only charges $1.50. I know, small victories. This place is just fine. It's clean, there's plenty of machines, I've never had a wait time. Big machines are $4, small machines are $2.75. It's right next to a bar, so can grab a drink and/or some food. There are folding tables. There is limited parking for free in the parking lot. I'll be coming here a lot more often. read more

The lady working there was super nice and the place was clean. Even with a drunk or two hanging out. There is a bathroom inside for customers, 2.75 to wash and .25 to dry. Pricey for us but I guess California as a whole is a lot more than Arizona. No comment was made when I plugged my phone charger in and sat on the floor to read my book. Don't want to wait inside? 5 feet away is a little bar and next door to that is a Mexican restraunt. What I liked most and why I'm writing this, the overhead planes as they come in for a landing. So cool, so close and at first I thought it was crashing! About every 5/10 minutes one is coming in for a landing. My other mother would have loved sitting there and just listening to them fly overhead. A couple times I felt it rattled my teeth. Really neat! read more

I thought I would give it a try, because its a block from my place. This is an awful laundromat. The prices are outrageous, there was no attendant, and when the machine took my $3.75, I called and left a voice mail for the manager, but they never called me back. Also, the quarters machine wouldn't take my bill. The $5 was in pretty good shape, but after 10 min. of failed effort, I gave up in frustration. I took two 5 dollar bills to do laundry, and after the washer stole my quarters, and the change machine rejected my other 5, I had to leave, $3.75 poorer, in search for an ATM and a different laundromat. Save yourself the frustration. ****UPDATE****: the manager called me back and said he would refund my $3.75 that the machine took. I was thankful that he took responsibility. This place is usually filthy. The change machines are hit and miss. Sometimes they are out of order. The dryers on the left hugging the wall of the dive bar don't work as well as the ones on the right and they leave you clothes smelling bad witch either requires febreeze or rewashing. The smaller washers are significantly older and do not work as well. Some of them are missing detergent dispensers. The patrons use powdered detergent in liquid only machines causing hunk build up that the owners never wash. Smell the washer before you put your clothes in. Sometimes questionable odors lurk inside... It is right next to the Cherry bomb. A late baby boomer slash early generation x dive bar.. it reeks of cigarette smoke and since it shares an entrance pretty much with the laundromat be prepared to be huffing in lots of second hand smoke. They could at least have air conditioning to filter that crap out. Regulars of the Cherry bomb will block the entrance and will have heated discussions of has-been hair bands or pointless nothingness. One time while washing my clothes a man wearing his dogs leash being walked by his friend who was carrying his dog friends dog over his shoulders both high out of their minds walked in and sat down and kept complimenting me on my clothes... I kid you not. Shady people regularly come here, so don't leave your clothing behind.. If you can avoid this place please do. read more

I was there today. Decided to give this place a try and go to a place closer to Little Italy and it wasn't bad at all. The downfall is there are quite a few washer and dryers out of order. Fortunately it wasn't crowded and I was able to get in out and out of there. The place is small compared to Wash N Go on El Cajon, however I wanted somewhere closer to home.
