Machines are always breaking and if you need credit to be able to use another one the lady working will give you a big speech and complain about other customers and hesitate about making another machine work. If I already paid for a washer and it breaks I deserve credit for it without a big complaining speech, right? Also I'm a regular customer that goes there twice a week and I still can't use the bathroom? It's under the worker's discretion is what I was told. When I asked the lady to let me use the bathroom after her big speech about giving me credit to use another washer she DENIED ME of using the bathroom. That was mean and she didn't use what her boss told her to do. UNDER YOUR DISCRETION. You have bad employees that scared away your customers and then talk to you with the sweet humbling voice for you to believe her. You fall for that because I don't. She did that under retaliation for letting me use another machine. It's not the customers fault your machines break. When people show up instead of your workers sitting on their phones waiting on their clothes to be washed they should be inspecting every customer that comes in to make sure they check how much they are putting in the washers. Don't blame people that do the right thing for your machines breaking. Buy new ones and hire better thinking people! read more

While staying at a nearby motel, I decided to take charge of my laundry and dropped it off at the local laundromat before heading out for a jog. To my delight, a friendly attendant was on sight who assured me they would use my preferred detergent. Her efficiency in explaining the pricing and turnaround time for fluff and fold service was impressive, although the pricing did catch me off guard initially I mean come on the beach breeze is right out the door it's understandable. I came right at 7pm on Tuesday for their last wash. I was greeted by a friendly staff, Kelly. I was running a little behind on my wash. I knew they close at 8:30 but Kelly never made me feel rush. The service was amazing. This was my first time here and immediately I was greeted and asked if I needed any help which I did. I was pointed in the direction of the machine I needed and was helped operating it. The attendant was so nice. I didn't catch her name but she made it such a pleasant experience. Never thought the terms "5 star" and "laundromat" in the same sentence until Clean Waves! As far as laundromats go, this place is the jam. Good quality machines from $5 and up ($11 I think) $2-$4 for 32 minutes for dryers. Not too shabby! All the attendants are quite helpful and accommodating to everybody I've seen there. Friendly laundromat that goes above and beyond and deserves treats, awards and ice cream cones. I love doing my laundry here and not dealing with annoying communal apartment laundry machines or those new machines that just grow mold. There's another laundromat the same distance from my house as Clean Waves, but I prefer clean waves because it's brighter, clean and welcoming. You can easily pick up different detergents and things at the C.V.S or Ralph's grocery across the street, or get them for a dollar there. :) read more

So I went to this laundromat today and I had a horrible experience. First of all, they only have cold water, but I could deal with that. The problem is that when I got there I asked the worker for help to turn my 10 dollar bill into quarters to wash my laundry. The said oh yes, right here, just put your money in, so I did. What he neglected to tell me was that they don't use quarters they use a card that your money is put on. I only had a little bit to wash, barely a load. So I asked the guy for my ten dollars back and he refused, saying they don't give refunds. So after doing my laundry, I was stuck with about 7 dollars still on the card that I will never see again. The guy lied to me when he said I could get quarters from that change machine. A 3 dollar load of laundry cost me ten dollars. I left upset and I would not recommend going to this place, it's a scam. I will be filling complaints with the CFPB, IRS and the FTC. I wonder how many other people they have scammed. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Let me start by saying THANK YOU for the disinfecting wipes! This is a godsend, considering other coin-operated laundries around here do not even have functioning sinks. Wipes aside, I prefer Grand Wash to all the other laundromats in Pacific Beach. While some of the machines are broken, there are always ones available and most work wonderfully. The site is clean and the women working for clothes drop-off are always very nice and helpful. This place is large enough where you don't feel awkward in a room full of strangers if you choose to stay while your laundry is in the washer/dryer. Personally, I enjoy putting my clothes in and walking right across the street to stroll the boardwalk or beach for a half hour. My clothes are always clean and I've never experienced any form of damage to my items. Best of all, I've never had to wait or come back to put my clothes in! This is the laundromat at 7:18 pm on a Sunday Jun 13 2021. Gate nearly closed despite posted hours of last wash at 9 pm. When I confronted the woman employee who was cleaning inside ... she says "we're closed. It looked more like she decided to close early on a Sunday evening. She made no effort to abide by the posted hours and would not let me in. Grand Wash is usually my go to laundromat and I would rate it at 4 stars normally, but this arbitrary closing hour is unacceptable. read more

Agreed with Johnny, this laundromat is awesome. Embracing the 21st century, they have a reloable card system where you can add value (the card costs a dollar) and use for your wash/dry. The place is bright and clean, with plenty of washers (both standard and the larger commercial-sized ones) and dryers. The dry costs $0.25 for six minutes, but these babies are hot! If you prefer to drop your laundry off, they offer fluff and fold service for $1.25 per pound. There's parking both out front as well as in the back of the laundromat as well as plenty of shops/restaurants and need I mention the beach to occupy your time between loads. If you need internet access, they also have two terminals with internet access for a fee. read more

I was vacationing in San Diego with three kids and so of course we needed to do laundry while we were here. Walked to another laundromat closer to where we were staying only to find it closed during posted business hours. I decided to walk further to Grand wash and I'm so thankful I did.
