This place is all about location. It's right in Lido, it has floor to ceiling windows where you can people watch, and it's convenient if you are in the area. I came for the first time for a pedicure with gel polish. The team was really friendly as I entered and made small talk and spoke good English. I was then asked if I wanted a shoulder massage and I agreed. It was actually really nice and it was $1/minute. I was then urged to get a 45 minute shoulder massage, I said no, 20 minutes, and she urged, 30 minutes. I didn't want to argue. I just wanted to enjoy my pedicure and now massage, so I agreed. I spent $30 on a 30 shoulder massage, and despite the negotiations, it was a nice massage. I spent $59 on a pedicure and I got a massage in the feet area. (Not sure if it cost extra). CASH ONLY! I had to walk to an ATM and come back to pay with cash. I didn't ask if they take Venmo. They do not have the chairs that have the massage capabilities and they have to bring a bucket of water to put your feet in. I most likely won't come here again because the pedicure price seems high for what I got. But, then again, it is all about the location. read more

The cheapest pedicure in town. Well that saying you get what you pay for. It's a basic nail polish and rub my shins for 10 mins coast me $36. My 8 year old son was charged the same without any polish. They literally DO NOT OFFER ANY SERVICES. NO MASSAGE CHAIR NO WATER FOOT SPA (it's a bucket with plastic bag wrapped around it) She quoted $12 for my son at first then changed it to $36 without any additional spa treatments. So I paid $36 for my son to get his shins and calf's rubbed. I'll never come back here again. I felt like we got ripped off for the services received. FYI The only accept cash and Venmo. Only downside is that they don't validate for parking in the lido structure, since they aren't technically part of the village. However, the parking is free for an hour and you can get 2 more hours free if you eat at Malibu farms! Their gel color selection isn't huge, but all of the gals working there are very kind and sweet! They will be getting powder nail colors in the coming weeks and just got chrome finishes. They also give you very good and long massages with each service, which is much appreciated, given most salons skimp out on that piece. It's been awhile since I've had my nails done. Came here after 5:00 pm and it was busy. It's a small nail shop but the whole time I was there customers were coming and going. Yes, it's not fancy but I really don't care for that. Just give me great nails, great prices and super friendly ladies. You can tell by how their customers jokes around with them and chit chat about whatever. I was going to ask Nina to do a design on my nails but I heard about the Shellac gel and wanted to do that. I rarely get my finger nails painted because within minutes of it drying I would somehow chip it right away. Many layers goes on but all that work makes this gel almost bullet proof. I love Magic Nails!!! I first discovered this hidden gem of a nail salon in 1998 when I moved to Lido. The ladies were so welcoming & sweet. All I needed was a quick pedicure and like other salons, they had various prices for the level of service you wanted. I chose the mid level (24.00) pedicure, and honestly I am not sure how that was different from any other normal pedicure I receive. It included the basic foot/leg massage, Etc....so I wonder what is omitted for the very basic service. Anyways the service was really good and all the staff was really nice and didn't rush for me to dry my toenails even though they were closing. So, I booked two appointments and headed over with my sissy before her wedding rehearsal. Yes, this place is teeny-tiny with no spa chairs for your electronic back rub and shmancy foot soak. Just old- fashioned techniques with a smile. Now, let's see what this place is all about... Nails, not bad and nothing out of the ordinary. I got a full set and a pedicure. I did get polka dots on my toes and I LOVE them! I could have gone without the $10 addition for the art work since I could have done the dotting myself for free. I guess I'm just spoiled with the deals they have in the hood... $10 for nail art on all ten fingernails WITH as much bling as your pretty hands can handle. I also decided to get some waxing done. My brows came out good @ the end of it all. It just didn't tickle my whistle because they use a thick pen like contraption that rolls the wax on. When she whipped it out... I was nervous because my main concern was accuracy. I guess you should trust your gut because 15 minutes later and after I told her what needed "evening out." They turned out alright. I simply prefer the popsicle stick method. I services I received were standard and my tab ended up fairly similar if not a little more then I'm use to. I've had to debate between giving Magic Nails 3 or 4 stars. I guess I was expecting a little more from it given its 4 1/2 star overall rating, so it might have fallen a little short of my expectations. The location is super hidden and you'll probably get lost if you don't know what you're looking for, but it's a REALLY small nail shop with about 4 or 5 nail stations. I came with two of my girlfriends and we were kind of apprehensive when we first walked in, because it was really small and cramped and we were kind of unsure of what to do. We immediately got seated (because we made an appointment beforehand) and were set up with the hot water tub for our hands and feet. I got the mani & pedi for $20, +$6 for french tips, which was a pretty decent price. One of the best things about Magic Nails is the women who work here - they're all SUPER friendly and so nice, and they DON'T chat and gossip about you in Vietnamese to each other. They're also not too chatty so you don't have to feel awkward or like you have to make conversation either. I had two people working on me - one on my hands, and one on my feet, and it was kind of a weird experience but they worked quickly and still did a great job. It took about 30-40 minutes for the mani & pedi, and I was really happy with how it turned out. My mani lasted about a week and a half before it started chipping, but my pedi is still perfect and it's been almost three weeks now. I would recommend Magic Nails - once you get past the initial apprehension about its hole-in-the-wall appearance, the people do a really good job on your nails at a good price. But I wouldn't necessarily say it's a place you HAVE to go to unless you're in the Newport area. Also, parking is kind of tricky. Look for metered parking around the area. We parked in this Elks Lodge parking in the area and didn't read the sign carefully, and an angry man came out and told us he was about to call someone to tow our car. So be careful! read more

That wouldnt have bothered me if the price match the facility. #2 They charged $69 for a pedicure with Gel Polish. I was told it was so high because I had a longer foot massage, yet they did not disclose the additional charge in advance. #3 They charged $82!! For an Acrylic Manicure with Gel Polish. When I get a mani and pedi with Gel in Orange County where I live I walk out paying under $100 for the whole thing (and that's WITH a salt scrub and massage). I have only reviewed a couple places in my lifetime and I was so upset about how much they charged me I feel it is important to warn people. The cost of this location is outrageous. Especially since it was not a super clean or an updated facility. The staff was nice, but the pricing is just wrong. read more
