I came in for my second visit and was not impressed. I had a made an appointment, I was the only person on their books and they seemed annoyed that I was there. The lady only said a minimal amount of words (maybe 5) to me. She began cutting my nails before asking me. I did not want them cut but she had already started. My manicure was rugged and not smooth once she was done. I will probably not be going back there which makes me upset since it was SO GOOD when i was there last year and it is close to my house. read more

I got my first gel/shellac manicure (I usually get acrylic) and I'm in love. I missed the gentlemen's name who did them but he did a great job and it was fast too. It was my go-to pedicure place. Close to my home, no appointments needed. The management now has increased the prices and I feel its not worth it. I had a very weird experience during my most recent visit. The lady who did my pedicure was rude and kept checking her phone while doing my nails. She didn't do a good job. The staff had some kind of disagreement before me which made me feel uncomfortable. Won't go back. It used to be a good place. read more

Above average service from very nice people. I can't speak to the manicure services, but the pedicure was one of the best I've had, definitely the best I've had in the DFW. The massage fit with hot stones was ahhhh-mayyyy-zinggg! The nails could've been shaped better, but they do ask you if you're satisfied with your services and offer to redo any errors. As is standard in this area, they offer wine and water as refreshments. The shop is pretty small and could stand a better layout to make it more appealing. It's located in a mini strip mall, so you don't expect it to be massive. read more

The facilities are always clean and staff are friendly, inviting and never pushy. In fact, I've found them to be quite accommodating. Tonight I got my first classic pedicure at MN. At the moment, I'm suffering from Achilles tendinitis. So, the lady working with my feet was very gentle and made sure to ask if I was comfortable. I came in about an hour before they closed and it was empty, so this is great for an after work treat where you don't have to listen to everyone's post work gripes. Horrible service!!!!! This is my second time coming here. The only reason I came back was for the 20% but it's not even worth it. The guy that does the pedicures is extremely rude. He was slamming cabinets and snatched the pedi menu out of another's woman's hands. Him and another guy that was there were going back and forth yelling while customers were there. Amanda did my nails and charged me an extra $5 for adding tips to my real nail when that should have been included in the $35. I asked for square oval shape and got square shape that are not even. Staff was very friendly but talked to each other in vietnamese the whole 45 minutes I was there, price is reasonable, I got the spa pedicure (the highest grade which includes mask and hot stone massage) and it was only $35.00. They don't offer any drinks and the polish selection wasn't a lot but had most of the in-season colors. If you're looking for somewhere to get pampered I would go elsewhere and spend a little more, if it's a quick mani/pedi this place is definitely worth the try. read more

Place is small and the decor and chairs are alright, nothing very special at all, and they do a decent job, but they are over priced. You don't get paraffin wax as part of your pedi until you get the expensive 50 dollar pedi. If you want to add wax to any of the cheaper pedi packages it cost $5, and if you want them to paint your nails it's another $5, to paint you nails for a pedicure?!?!? That is ridiculous. I have never been to a nail salon that charges for painting your nails when you get a pedicure. A basic pedi ended up costing over 35, not including a tip. I have never had a 35 dollar pedicure where you get so little. And the pedicure wasn't anything special. You can tell they are struggling because even on a warm day they had the AC off to save money although it was miserable in there for the customers. I will never return and advise my fellow yelpers to never go either. Update: Thanks. I understood the wAx was an extra 5 you guys made that clear, I should have stated that was fine I was just irked at the fact getting the nails painted was an extra 5 and that wasn't mentioned until we asked to have them painted at the end of the pedicure. We probably would have gone elsewhere if we knew that. But to make it clear the 5 for wax is reasonable, just never knew there were places that charged extra for painting nails on a pedicure. This is a new nail salon recently opened in Plano area. It was my sister's birthday so we decided to try out this new place, that was recommended by a friend. My gel nails turned out FANTASTIC! I was really happy and pleased with the service I got from Magic Nails. The owner of the salon was very friendly and attentive. The salon isn't too big, however, it was a nice and cozy salon that I wouldn't mind to come by myself and spend a relaxing afternoon here. I got my gel nails done by one of the male employees. He was extremely professional and actually took time to understand the design I wanted, unlike any other nail salons that I have been before. Overall, it was a great experience and I really appreciate the efforts they put in to meet customers' needs. I'd recommend to those whom have been trying to find a good nail salon in Plano area. Love this new place! It's clean and the atmosphere was nice- soft music was played to relax my day. And not to mention the service and the employees. I went there for gels the other day and as soon as I walked in, they greeted me happily. Everyone had a smile on their face- it seemed like every employee was passionate about what they do. And I was offered drinks right after I sat down, and the manicurist was really friendly and kind the whole time. She would either talk to me or let me enjoy my quite moments. I have been here twice because I wanted to give them a chance at redeeming themselves after the first visit. I won't be back. It is a small and clean salon but all of the employees were speaking to each other the entire time in their language I think Vietnamese. They were loud and never spoke to the 3 customers there. 2 of the employees were on the small couch area toward the back eating. Very unprofessional and rude not to at least engage their customers in any conversation. I'm really disappointed in how this salon has gone downhill. A year ago, it was amazing, and I'm pretty sure less expensive. Now, not so much. It's been 10 days since my last mani and my Next Gen nails are cracking and breaking off. My toenails weren't even fully painted but it took so long I didn't realize it until l left so I had to return to have them fixed. My eyebrows, same thing. Was in such a rush because the mani-pedi took so long, I got home and had to tweeze my just waxed brows. I was told over and over Next Gen would be great for my nails. Please do not go here for a manicure or gel nails! I recently went in to get a mani-pedi with gel polish. The pedicure was very well done and the lady that did it was very nice and friendly. However for my manicure, another lady that did it was very unfriendly and my "manicure" was only rubbing my arms with oil. Also, my gel nails started cracking and tearing off within 2 days. I wanted to like this place, it is right around the corner from our house and seemed to have good reviews. What I thought would be a quick gel manicure took nearly 2 hours. The first lady, Anna was very nice and helpful. I liked her. She had an appointment come in so I was passed to another girl. I told her three times there was a gap in color on one of my nails and she said it would be fine once she was done. It wasn't. And I mentioned it again and she just filed my nail more which wasn't the problem. The gap was at the top of the nail and it looked like my nails were already growing out. Also, there was polish on my skin that she didn't clean off. I appreciate that they took me without an appointment but I will be going some where else next time. read more

Had a great, relaxing mani and pedi - both nail techs were very sweet and conversational. It was easy to upgrade my manicure to a gel and keep my pedicure basic. I have been going to Magic Nails every 2-3 weeks all summer. Great, friendly service. But when it is busy, and do not have enough staff at the salon, they do tend to rush on you, and/ or swap back and forth between each customer. All summer I have been happy with the service, but need more colors for Nexgen Nails. The second to last visit, I got the new Nexgen Chrome Gel top coat, and the paint was chipping within TWO HOURS after leaving. I just assumed it was new and they were just trying it out on some customers. Then, this last visit I went to, they were extremely busy, going back and forth between customers. I left happy with the Nexgen Nails I usually get (with tips) and the VERY NEXT DAY they started to break and crack even with just putting my hair up. Usually they do 3 dips on each each finger to make them strong, but this time they just rushed. I'm beginning to think if I need to start going somewhere else if these things aren't fixed soon. read more

Normally I like this place and have gone many times over the past few years and always satisfied. Today, however, was a disappointment. Today is Sunday and I called the salon on the Friday before to make appointments for today. I very clearly told the person on the phone that I wanted to make appointments for 2 manicures on Sunday at 3pm. [I was bringing a friend for a manicure as well as my own] I said it TWICE to make sure it was understood and she repeated 3pm. I said,"on Sunday" Just to make sure. I asked if she would need to take my name and she said, "No, I have your name on Caller ID". Okay, fine. I showed up today at 3pm. There was 1 woman working at the salon. When I told her I had an appointment she had no idea what I was talking about. I checked my phone to make sure I did not make a mistake and my phone log told me I had called this salon just as I thought. She told us to wait 10 minutes. After waiting 15 minutes she said she could only do one of the manicures as she was the only person there. I turned to my friend and told her to go ahead and get the manicure. My friend said,"No, we wanted to have them together. Let's go somewhere else". I asked the woman what happened to my appointment. The appointment book was blank. No names written for today. She said the person had to leave for an emergency and took the other book. What? There is not ONE appointment book the salon uses? Ridiculous. We left and found another nearby salon who happily did our 2 manicures. Magic Nails....you let me down. read more

I can not believe how down the drain this business has done. Every since it's been under new nanagement, It's more about upselling than doing quality work. I could not fully enjoy my pedicure because I was being asked the first 10 minutes of the pedicure if I wanted to upgrade from the standard pedicure to the deluxe (or something like that). I said no the first 2 times you asked & It's not going to change the next 3 or 4 times you asked. Also it's this man walking around the nail techs micromanaging their work...probably to make sure that they're upselling the customers. Uhm, excuse me sir? You dont know anything about nails or feet. And I know this because of how disgusting your nails looked with all the dirt and bacteria caked underneath. Let the women work! I went to Magic nails & spa on a whim with a friend of mine to get manicures and use the 10% off yelp check in discount, I went in, and the second I walked in through the door I noticed there were only 2 nail techs, the one who did my nails, Cindy, and a man, and neither of them looked happy to see us (it was 2 hours before closing) I thought that 2 hours was okay for a basic manicure but I guess not, before I even picked my color I asked the nail tech if she could help me pick a shade of purple and she said "what you see is what we have" in a rude tone, I sat down and she began doing my nails, I got a 4 minute "massage" with chalky lotion and a messy polish job, alongside attitude when I asked her to fix the spot where a dust particle got on my polish. usually my normal polish lasts 2 weeks but she didn't seal it so it's already chipped....And to top it off she said i couldn't use the yelp check in discount and made an excuse as to why she couldn't give me 10% off... read more

Don't go here!! Went in because I had a $5 off coupon from the back of my Kroger receipt. I was a walk in and I appreciate they for me in, even though I waited 40 min. The lady removed by old gel and asked if I wanted a manicure too. All other salons this is included, so I was confused. She did not file, shape my nails. She trimmed one cuticle with what appeared to be a dirty tool. She did not take all the color off and my new color was lighter and you can still see the old color underneath. I told her this, but she said it would be ok, it wouldn't show. By the time we were into 2nd coat, I didn't care and wanted to be done. When I presented my coupon they would not honor it. Said it had to be on s service of $35 or more. The coupon only said "$5 off shellac or gel." I was beyond upset. I called Kroger and told them to stop printing their ad since they obviously will not honor them. So frustrating! read more

This is the worst experience of a life time. Never go to this place!!! I was sitting waiting to have my pedicure and the lady working on another client next to me asked me to put my feet into the water. She reached into the foot basin and somehow pushed the nozzle of the jet spray upwards - completely drenching me with water. My clothes and my phone which was in my lap got completely soaked with water. I slowly got up - furious and wet. The manager continued on totally ignoring the situation and did not once get up to apologize or offer any type of assistance or compensation. One of the girls who had originally turned on the tap came running over, tripping on the mess and tried to dry my clothes with a filthy rag and apologizing in her broken English. This example not only displays a complete lack of unprofessionalism but also a major lack of common courtesy. A place like this does not deserve any business.
