The people were really nice, there wasn't a long wait. I got a full acrylic gel set, it took a very long time but it was worth it and my nails turned out to be exactly what I wanted. at first my nail technician seems unsure as if the design could be done but it ended out perfectly fine and the way that I wanted it. So if you're looking for an intricate or unusual design that most nail salons cannot do I recommend this place! It might take a while but it is definitely worth it. It might be worth it look wise but it definitely is a tad bit expensive they charge for the little things such as shape and design which is understandable because most nail salons do but designs are like 4$ each and overall it is a little pricey for a high-quality type of manicure/pedicure. read more

Needed French mani pedi for special occasion. I typically don't get manicures or wear false nails since I have long nails anyway. Was told by family member to give them a try. The young guy was nice enough; didn't take too long but I felt he cut some corners on the service. End result looked satisfactory so I dismissed it. Event was next day and I noticed small chips on my French mani. The day after that, all the white tips had started to peel off. I didn't get gel so maybe that's why? Will not be going back there. I cannot comment on the manicures, they might do a horrible job on this end, but the pedicures are to DIE for! Firstly you can get a cheapy pedi for $25, this may not be as cheap as #1 Nails, but the service and what you get is way better. I'm not sure what someone was talking about there nail polish falling off, but they do use OPI which is what most nail places I have been to use. The chairs that you actually do sit in are quite vigorous, I ended up turning mine off. It is nice to come into a place where most workers are american/asian and speak great english. I did not hear them once speak in there language back and forth to each other. This to me is lots of kuddos cause between the laughing and what not you know they aren't talking about any of their customers. The pedicure itself was great (not the best) but definitely worth coming back too. I am in love with the second chair you get to lay back in and sit in that massages your calves and lower back. The parrafin dip was quite hot, i love hot, it might hurt other people though. All in all, i would come back here and pay an extra $10.00 any day :) Give it a try for a pedi, i will try a mani sometime when I have the time to stay. read more

Just had my nails done here about 4 hours ago. It is awful. The nail is already peeling and there is smear of nail polish all over. The nail polish is so bulky that it is already lifting. It took an hour to do this so they had sufficient time to do a good job. I called back and they agreed to redo it. I asked what happens if the redo is equally as bad, she kept saying they will redo again. I just want a refund. I should have gone to the place I usually go across the street but there was a wait. I have been going here for years. Yesterday will be the very last time. The lady that did my pedicure was awful. The polish on my big toes looked clumpy and uneven after she painted them. Plus she used that darn electric sander thingy on my nails, and now my big toe nails have divets in them that you can see even with them polished. I noticed that the other staff kept looking at her work while she was working on me as if they knew it was going to be questionable. She did not have a name tag on, and so may have been new. There's no excuse for this though. This place has gone so down hill since Lee left. His staff was so great. I'm so disappointed that even LeeAnn didn't care about the treatment of one of the regular customers. You all should be ashamed. I've always, always tipped very well here. I was skeptical about going into a salon for nail maintenance. It was comforting to go inside of Magic nails and see the many precautions in place from the moment i walk in. Things such as the COVID19 questionnaire, the barriers, the social distancing being enforced, as well as washing of hands frequently. In the past, cleanliness has been part of why I would patron Magic Nail on Hwy50. Yesterday was no exception. The nail specialist Katy, dropped a nail tool on the floor while doing my pedicure. Instead of picking it up and continuing to use it, she did the correct thing and went and got a brand new sterilized one. In the past,, I've severed ties and I have walked out of a salon bc the nail tech attempted to use a dirty nail tool on my pedicure. In addition, to safety and cleanliness at Magic Nails, Lee Ann and Ms. Linda are very professional and courteous. I do miss the nail tech Benny also.. Now, the real reason for this review is that Katy did an excellent job on my feet and hands. I believe in a pedicure and manicure being more than just polish and cuticle care. For the cost it should always include massage therapy. I was able to feel comfortable and relaxed as I enjoyed the spa services. I closed my eyes and enjoyed being pampered without interruption. My feet and hands were nourished and pleased with the customer service provided me. read more

I have been a regular customer of Magic Nails and Spa since right around Valentines Day of this year. The staff is great, but the manager/appointment taker, Lee, is pretty awful. He is rude, unprofessional, insensitive, and not a people person AT ALL. I was able to look past that until recently. I made an appointment for August 5 a couple weeks ahead of time to redo my dip polish and for my mom to get a pedicure; gave them my name and number as usual. I thought I made the appointment for 3:30. I arrived at 3:20 and was told that my appointment was at 3, not 3:30. There were only 3 customers in the shop at that time. Two of them were almost done and one was still soaking their nails to get their dip redone. One of the workers was sitting, not doing anything. I asked if we could just be considered a walk in then. Lee just kept saying nope, your appointment was at 3. Did not offer to reschedule. Did not offer to see if they would be able to get me in another time. Just stared at me like I was a moron and turned my mom and I away. I was also a little confused as to why he didn't call me at 3 when I wasn't there yet, based on how few people were even in the salon. I only live a mile or two down the road. What's the point of taking down a phone number if you don't utilize it? I made a Facebook review about the situation, but I loved the girl who did my nails so I made another appointment with her and decided to look past his treatment. On August 15, I received a phone call from the manager, Lee, threatening to cancel any future appointments if I didn't remove my Facebook review. He did not try to make the situation better. Did not apologize. Just demanded I remove my review by the weekend or he was going to cancel my appointment. The only reason I kept going after poor treatment by Lee was because of the wonderful staff. I was a committed customer, but will be taking my business elsewhere. Based on the numerous other complaints about Lee, it's pretty obvious Magic Nails and Spa would be a much better salon with a manager/appointment taker that actually cared about their customers. read more

I just had a pedi at Magic Nails & Spa. Tammy did a fantastic job. This establishment is very clean and I love it that they use an autoclave and disposable tools. I already have my next appointment scheduled :-) Please know you should definitely plan to be on time. The website does specifically say if you are more than 5 minutes late you may have to reschedule. As for the demeanor of Lee, I wonder how much of it is cultural differences versus rudeness. I found Lee to be friendly today and I watched him speak with many other clients and treated them professionally as well. My advice is to go in and at least give this place a try. I saw Tammy, Cindy and Leon in action and they were all very professional technicians with happy customers. read more

My nails started to break and chip in less than 10 days I never had this happen before in the four times prior to getting my nails done so I called to let them know and the receptionist was rude and unfriendly! I will no longer be thinking good about this place. Went there yesterday and got my nails done, cost $96 and took over 2 hours. Other times i've gotten more than what i got and it wasn't even that much. The guy that did my nails was good until he starting drilling close to my skin, hurt very badly. I wasn't going to say anything because I saw another review saying that the guy was doing the same thing, and she got kicked out for saying the truth. A few hours later, some of my fingers start to hurt. I saw that one side had some puss coming out. Last bad thing, i went to just grab my small dog and pop, one nail comes off. Ok, I hate the idea of manicures and pedicures, and I don't end up feeling "pampered," I feel stressed, nervous, and like I'm doing the wrong thing all the time. Even so, I can judge this place fairly for the following things: - I didn't like that most of the nail polish started coming off 2 days after the manicure. - I didn't like that my nails were jagged after a cursory filing. - I didn't like that it was demanded that I pay the bill before my nails were done - I understand that this might be so that you don't have to dig around in your purse before your nails are done, but no one else in my party had to do this, which made the overall billing confusing. - I thought all of the pedicure procedures were fine. - Overall they were pretty gentle, although the massage chairs were more like torture chairs. So, granted, I don't know anything about pedicures and manicures, but I know enough to know what I don't like. read more

I'm new to the area, and have been going here a couple weeks, and absolutely love it! I hear that they recently moved locations, and the place they are at now is gorgeous. The salon is incredibly clean, and everyone has been very friendly. The pedicure was amazing, and has lasted weeks. As for my nails, I had recently gotten a horrible acrylic job at a different salon in town, and made the horrible decision to file them off on my own. Well, I definitely over filed, because my nails were down to nothing when I came to make the appointment here. They suggested dipping powder to give my nails a break from acrylic, and so far I am loving it. I am so happy that the salon made a suggestion to help me rather than letting me continue to ruin my nails with acrylics. The only downside is you definitely need to make an appointment. I have been going to Magic Nails & Spa for many, many years. I have had nothing but positive experiences with everyone who works there, especially Lee, the owner, and Jessica. Lee has always been welcoming and gives me a smile and says, "Hi Chris." I have my nails done by Jessica who is as sweet as can be and does an excellent job on manicures and pedicures. I am reading from some reviewers that the owner, Lee, is rude. He has always been very kind to me and other customers whom I have witnessed. Perhaps he was busy or perhaps he encountered attitudes of entitlement which even I have seen by customers when I am there. These nail stylists work hard for the money and I am always appreciative. I often see customers come in who talk down to them or don't treat them with respect. I am very appreciative of Magic Nails, Lee, and Jessica, my nail stylist. Keep up the GREAT work! read more

I just moved to the area and need a nail tech so I decided to give this place a try. WRONG!!!!!! I walked in and with no other customers in site the man behind the counter said for me to sign in and I said I just wanted to make an appt. He said "you sit down and we take care of".... Ok, so I sat down and waited...and waited.....and waited.....after about 15 minutes had passed and he had nothing else to do and was ignoring me, I walked out..... This is undoubtedly the worst customer service I have ever encountered..... I would never recommend this facility and I see I am not the only one with that feeling! I've been coming here for a gel manicure and regular pedicure for a couple months now. I like their work, I haven't had any complaints on how my nails turn out. The manager lacks a few social skills and I've read reviews about him being rude. I don't think he's intentionally rude but to each their own. I think he does a good job scheduling appointments though, I've never had to wait more than about 5 minutes to be seen (with an appointment). The waxing of the feet in the massage chair feels wonderful but it's pretty time consuming so I usually skip it. Reason why I'm giving it 3 stars is because there is one technician that I've heard bad mouthing a client to me and other clients around and she waxed one of my eyebrows thinner than the other one and wouldn't take responsibility for it. I actually walked into this place for a gel manicure and immediately walked out! It smells so terrible, I don't know how anyone in there could breathe. It smells worse than the nail places inside Walmarts or malls. Do yourself and your body a favor and go down the street to Luxury Nail Salon. They have amazing prizes, open all tools new out of the package for each service and there is NO smell! My gel manicure always lasts the full two weeks when Luxury does my nails too..they just happened to be closed on vacation when I needed my nails done to leave town. read more

I would given Magic Nails a higher review, but for one male nail tech. I have unfortunately gotten him as my nail tech three times for a mani/pedi. He seemed condescending and judgmental. He made fun of my nail polish color for being too light, almost refused to cut my nails short because he thought it wasn't girly, and on another visit actually said my job in the environmental wasn't real or important. I have had manicures and pedicures by almost everyone who works in the salon; and all do a terrific job. The prices are very reasonable for the high quality. They have a large selection of OPI nail polish colors to chose from. I have always been satisfied with the manicures and pedicures at this salon. They do decent work, but not nearly good enough for how much I paid. I don't often review things anywhere because I don't like to complain, I just want to save someone quite a bit of money. I got a full set with dip powder and a "special" shape, and a very basic pedicure and my total was $80! They asked if I wanted a basic manicure before my full set was done and I said that was fine. My cuticles were trimmed and there was lotion put on my hands at the end. Wasn't worth the extra $12. The woman who did my nails was very sweet and lovely, but goodness. $80 for a nail trip? If I could leave zero stars I would. I made an appointment for my daughter and I to have pedis together while she was in town.. I made appts and stressed that I wanted them at the same time with no exceptions or excuses. We arrived and of course they were 20-30 minutes behind (though they had only been open for about 2 hours). Then they wanted to take us separate which I refused. When we finally did go back the owner came, while I was getting my pedicure with my daughter, shoved his phone in my face and inquired if I had written a previous review. This was disturbing since my name and photo are not on my account and the review had been written months previously. He then angerly demanded that I "go someplace private" to discuss it. I said I was not comfortable going anywhere alone with him. This only caused him to be more aggressive in demanding it. I continued to decline his invitation and so he confronted me right there that he did not like my previous review and demanded that I remove it. I said no, it is an honest review of my experience and if he wanted it changed or removed he should change his business practices and how he treats his customers. He got very angry and threatened that if I did not remove it I could never come there again. He even went as far as to say even if I made an appt w someone else or under another name he would refuse me. Like I would want to go back after that? He made me feel very unsafe just to be in his presence and his looks toward me were scary and intimidating when I refused to follow his demands. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

I've had three pedicures here in the past seven months. I deducted a star because I was very disappointed by one of them, but the other two were great. Tom in particular is very careful and very thorough. The shop is clean and the lighting, music, and temperature are all set at comfortable levels. Nice and relaxing, especially the paraffin dip. EDIT -- Unfortunately I got another disappointing pedicure (nails unevenly cut, one of them way too short, and roughly filed, plus sloppy paint job) here recently -- not from Tom. In the future I think I'll ask for him specifically and go elsewhere if he's not available. read more
