I've gone to Sue's since I was little, my whole family gets their hair done here. I usually try to…read moreschedule with Brittany, but Sue and Michelle have both done my hair several times and done AMAZING jobs. I've never had a cut or style that I didn't absolutely love! And I'm very particular about my hair length and how I want it, my hair is insanely thick, textured, and grows fast so it is a nightmare to do any regular upkeep. I just recently moved back from the military so I've moved around a lot the last few years, and honestly I've never had a haircut anywhere else that comes anywhere close to what i get here. Since moving back to the area a few months ago, I have gone to Sue's twice (once with Michelle cutting and once with Brittany) both experiences were so therapeutic and wonderful, the first time I had Michelle do some thinning and get my split ends fixed but I kept my length and she did such an amazing job at keeping my length but also getting those split ends trimmed up. This last time I told Brittany she has full rein to do what she thinks my hair needs, since it's so thick and being down to my butt it was soo heavy I was getting headaches and I literally just used to throw my hair up every single day bc I couldn't manage it, I'm a long hair girl and always have been, so when I told her she can take as much as she thinks would be best I was so nervous, but LET ME TELL YOU she did the BEST thinning I've ever had, layering that is so clean and somehow lines perfectly to the contour of my wavy texture (because sometimes layers with waves like mine causes some weird frizzy poky ends) and she gave me a little face framing. My hair has legit never felt or looked this good in my whole life, I wear it down and style it all the time now because the layers she gave me are so perfect I can do straight, or light curls, or let my natural texture go. It has been yearsss since Ive actually loved my hair, and not had to fight with it every single day. And just the experience here is always so nice, im literally counting down the days until I get to go back and get my haircut again bc it's like a form of therapy for me.

I went with the Top Teir one. This came with a Long Food Soak in a scented tropical soak, Massage w/warm stones, and a massage with warm tropical scent lotion. I also had the Gel nail polish applied. one of the best Pedis I've ever received. I haven't received a pedi or nail service in over a decade because I do them myself. However, I will now make it a once a month thing at this location. The drive is worth it. Heads up, this is a very small location so be patient as the staff definitely strives to bring great quality service. To me, the wait was worth it. My sister had her nails done and she too agrees that this was the best nail service she's yet to receive & this is her first time here. She too will now be a regular client!

**TIFFANY IS MY HAIR WHISPERER. **…read more I can't speak to the caliber of the other stylists or beauticians at the Chop Shop, as this was my very first patronage - BUT - I was beyond pleasantly surprised. Let's talk space. This amalgamation of private beauty businesses is PERFECT for Covid precautions. Each business has their very own room making it feel far more sanitary, unique, and intimate. Walking down the hall, you catch a glimpse into the aesthetic and personality of each business. Backstory: I'm new to STL and was going on 6 months since my last cut. I walked past Chop Shop last week, popped onto the website, and tried booking with a curly haired stylist (my mop is a specialty). She wasn't available but suggested I reach out to Tiffany, another Chop Shop beauty babe. I was hesitant because T has straight hair and I've been traumatized by hair stylists who don't understand know the sensitive nature of a curl - but I went ahead and booked. I was so warmly greeted by Tiffany upon arrival. After sitting down in her chair, I felt like we were fast friends, chatting about all of the important things (rollerskates, hiking, tattoos, etc). She snipped my hair dry (a promising sign) in order to cut along the curl pattern and then washed it. She styled my hair simply by putting me under the dryer - and for those without delicate curly locks, this meant she KNEW what she was doing. Anyone who immediately straightens curly hair after a cut is trying to hide their mistakes. :) OH. Mah. Gah. My hair is springy, buoyant, coiled, and EXACTLY what I asked for. Give your money to Tiffany. Please.
