We used Magic Entertainment to DJ our wedding and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a DJ for any event! For our ceremony, we had live music so they just provided mics to amplify us and our officiant's voices. The sound worked flawlessly for the ceremony, and all of our guests were able to hear everything, even those in the back row. For our reception, we had DJ Andy. He provided us with uplighting which really livened up our reception venue, especially once we got to the dancing and turned off all the other lights in the room. Andy handled everything during the night, from our grand entrance/first dance, to calling tables for the buffet, to the music during the dancing portion of our reception. We gave Andy some songs so he could get a sense of our taste in music, and he filled in the blanks from there. We got so many compliments about the music selections during our reception, and there were people dancing from every age group all night long (even people that don't typically dance)! Andy did a great job keeping the energy up in the room throughout the night. We were very happy with our DJ choice of Magic Entertainment for our wedding from the minute we booked them (working with Terry) to the end of the night (with Andy). read more

We worked with Magic Entertainment for our DJ at our wedding. Getting a DJ was a more last minute decision for us, and working with Terry made things so easy! He was accommodating and helped us figure out what was best for us. We only needed a DJ for the reception so we were able to figure out the timeline with Terry's help. Our DJ was Andy Bently and he was so great! We met with him prior to go over important songs and entrances. Day of Andy was timely and very helpful with everything! He played music throughout the reception and then afterwards for dancing. Andy was so fun and played music from a playlist I provided as well as his own choices based on the mood. He also had colorful lights set up which we and our guests loved. Overall, working with Andy and Magic Entertainment was amazing and we highly recommend them! read more

Magic Entertainment - DJs Near Me

I hate to give such a low rating because Terry was amazing and super communicative with us... I'm usually pretty easy going, but this review is for Louie because of how awful things went on our big day. We just got married Saturday 6.11 at Hannah Nicole Vineyards, and during our ceremony the mic kept cutting out during our vows --when I would have thought there was a sound check prior. Then for our grand entrance he totally missed announcing my sister and called me and my husband to go first (groom/bride) and then realized he forgot my sister/matron of honor after the fact.. total fail! We were so shocked! Louie did apologize to us, but only about the vows. During everyone's grand entrance - everyone's songs were so low which gave no energy to the crowd. We were so behind on all of our reception timeline because he wasn't announcing things properly and ended up doing everything so late and out of order. My sister had to keep going up to him to tell him what to do next, otherwise, it just wouldn't have happened. Overall , Louie didn't have much energy and I felt it made a huge difference to the dance floor by him lacking as an MC. He needs to work on getting the crowd going. I don't even think he played half of the songs I created on my playlist either that me and my husband worked really hard on. We were really disappointed working with Louie and I don't recommend him as a dj/Mc unfortunately. read more

Our guests had nothing but a great time with Terry in charge! He helped take care of our Ceremony and made it run so smoothly. He amazingly followed up with the whole reception and dinner. Had the uplighting in place too!! It was awesome with him up there and keeping us all on track! Not only making the party happen but he kept it moving accordingly with our "never been married before" attitude but he knew how to make things flow and saved the day!! read more

Terry was our MC for our wedding back in August and him and his team truly did not disappoint! Our guests had a blast dancing all night, the DJ was incredible and took requests on a notebook to make sure all the requests were getting played. Terry is super easy to work with, incredibly fast at responding and knows how to entertain a crowd throughout an event. Our guests couldn't stop talking about Terry and how funny/witty he was. 10/10 recommend if you're considering hiring Magic Enterainment! read more

We loved our first interactions with Terry and knew that we were in good hands once we were paired and met with Brandon. Their team is very organized and we were able to collaborate with Brandon to provide songs, timestamps, and feedback on music planned throughout the wedding timeline. While there were a few technical difficulties during the ceremony with another DJ who helped Brandon out that night, Brandon had great energy and flawlessly transitioned from micro-event to micro-event during our reception. He was so professional, kind, and personable--everything you want in a DJ and emcee! read more

Magic Entertainment came highly recommended from our venue so we reach out and immediately received a response from Terry. Terry answered all of our questions and even met with us on zoom a couple of times during the planning process. Magic Entertainment even has an awesome website and service that allowed us to add songs to different playlists if we chose to do so. Two weeks before the wedding we met with Terry to finalize our timeline, announcements, songs, etc. and he made it so easy for us. We added a few songs that our guests requested on their RSVP cards and let Terry know what genres we liked and left the rest up to him. Our reception was on 11/13/21, and we had no issues at all! Terry was familiar with the venue and the event staff which was extremely helpful. We added uplighting to our package and Terry had it all set up prior to our guests arriving. After cocktail hour, Terry organized our bridal party for introductions (which was a huge task because we had a LARGE bridal party of 30 people), he played all of the right songs and got everyone's names and roles correctly. He again kept us on track with the toasts, specialty dances, cake cutting, garter/bouquet tosses, and our fake send-off. Terry had our guests and me on the dance floor all night which is exactly what I wanted. Terry is outgoing, professional, and is a natural at what he does and we'd highly recommend him and Magic Entertainment! read more

We used Magic Entertainment for our DJ/MC service for our wedding this October, they are well organized, professional, and fun. Truly an excellent service. Their team (Terry/Brandon) take the time to talk with you to understand what types of music you want for your event, they offer an awesome playlist builder so you can easily share your "please play/please don't play" list with their team. They also work with you to make a "music timeline" where you can indicate desired songs for the big moments - bride walking down the aisle, newlyweds exit ceremony area, first dance, etc. For our event we had the pleasure of working with Brandon who was the best possible combination of professional, organized, and friendly. He set the perfect tone for our wedding, getting people to have fun, laugh in between speeches, and to dance for our whole reception - striking the perfect balance between classy and fun. read more

Let me just start by saying that if I could give Terry 10 stars, I would. My husband and I recently hired Terry to DJ our wedding and from the very beginning he was professional, organized, and very easy to communicate with. We spoke with him twice via video-chat where he introduced us to his website with slick music database and requests form, and created his own timeline. He made sure that we did not have to worry about anything on the day of our event, including coordinating with our officiant prior to the ceremony. During our cocktail hour we unfortunately had a medical emergency occur. Terry did a wonderful job directing guests, keeping everyone informed, and recovering the mood of the evening. He saved our wedding night and got everyone on to the dance floor (and kept them there!). Terry not only has a great voice and personality as an MC but he is also talented in reading the room and catering to a crowd with song choices. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Terry, and we hope to see him at future events. read more

Terry is awesome, a must hire!! From a Coordinator's perspective, and I work with a lot of DJs, Terry is top notch! From signing to the day he is a joy to work with, you are getting a great deal for a grade A DJ and emcee, he is responsive and helpful, prompt and on time, flexible, gives announcements to keep your guests in the know of whats to come next and keeps your guests happy and on the dance floor. An event we worked together was primarily a french audience and I was really blown away by his ability to keep the guests on track and on the dance floor. I can't say enough great things about Terry, both on his personality and friendliness, and on his professionalism. Great guy all around and amazing DJ and emcee. read more

Terry and Magic Entertainment is amazing! I started working with them before the pandemic and they were super accommodating with all the changes that had to be made. He was always willing to help me with music selections. The photo booth was the perfect addition as well. Everyone loved it!! They made my wedding even more magical! read more

I got married at Brownstone Gardens on 10/19/19, and Magic Entertainment on the venue's preferred vendor list. I'm so grateful for that, because I don't know how else we would have found a DJ that is equal parts kind, professional, funny, and experienced. I can't sing Terry's praises enough. He was always prompt with email communication, and we felt truly safe leaving the timeline and flow of our wedding in his hands. He executed everything flawlessly, even when I myself wasn't the best at sticking to what I wrote on the timeline or even dancing for the entire duration of my father daughter dance! Haha. We also booked the photo booth, and I'd highly recommend you do the same if you're considering it. We were able to customize our template and I was so impressed with the quality of photos and the design of photo strip itself. Terry, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. The night would not have gone as smoothly with any other DJ or emcee, and it means so much to us that we were able to have you there. I only regret not getting to hang out with you more! read more

Terry is an AMAZING DJ & emcee! Book him immediately! We had the best time with Terry as our DJ & emcee. My guests absolutely loved him! He is very professional, experienced, fun, and the perfect emcee! He knows how to read the crowd and go from there. It was all fun throughout the night. Two weeks before my wedding date we had a final in-person meeting. He is such a friendly person, super personable. We went over the day-of timeline, music we wanted, and other important details. His knowledge with music is incredible. On my wedding day, he made NO mistakes (yay!), played all the kinds of music I wanted, and executed everything perfectly. My ceremony was held outdoors, and everything sounded clear and fantastic. Bonus: He has the perfect emcee voice and personality! read more

Absolutely perfect! Thank you for the amazing flow you provided at my wedding. We are forever grateful for you and staff

Terry was phenomenal as the DJ at our wedding. BEST VENDOR WE BOOKED! He kept our timing on track and kept everyone on the floor when it was time to dance. He took our suggested songs into consideration and added his own to make the perfect playlist for our event. He made an incredible effort to pronounce our wedding party's names correctly and we had a few tough ones. We met with Terry all over video so it was very convenient in the busy planning process! He was phenomenal! I would HIGHLY recommend Magic Entertainment for any event! read more

Terry DJ'd for our wedding, and Tana provided the photobooth services. First off, the photobooth was so FUN and easy to use, with Tana providing assistance for all the guests the WHOLE night using the photobooth and the various props. Loved Tana, she brought so much life to the night! And Terry, went above and beyond in his services and made our small wedding into a music/dance filled, entertaining event! He really knows how to get the crowd going, choosing songs masterfully to get people dancing. He was so funny (especially when I messed up the cake cutting) and knows how to play off the bride and groom, guests and other staff. Terry and our wedding coordinator Barbara (Brownstone Gardens) are a wedding POWERHOUSE, the team cohesion and passion they have to ENSURE that our wedding night would go smoothly and in a timely (and lively!) manner, made it so much of a perfect night. I am truly amazed and honored to have had Terry and Tana provide the entertainment services to our wedding. Thank you so much! read more

We had the pleasure of working with Terry and his team just his weekend. He arrived with a huge smile and the wonderful compliments. His team was flawless. He listened to what I wanted and then impressed me with everything else he could do. He responds fast, the music was amazing quality, and he's super funny. Everyone enjoyed having him emcee and dj. He meshes well with the crowd and everyone danced their butt off! GET THE PHOTOBOOTH. It's amazing. They can email you the photos soon I believe and they even create it so that you have your name on it. ITS AMAZING. They are amazing. BOOK THEM :) read more

Terry was our DJ for our wedding at the Berkeley Country Club and he was amazing from the beginning of the process to the very end. Terry was extremely helpful in planning our timeline and events, and he made great suggestions that worked out wonderfully at our wedding. He was extremely responsive to any questions I had leading up to the wedding and he held a meeting with us prior to the wedding to have a detailed discussion about what music and events we wanted at our wedding. He was detailed and knowledgeable, and just so very helpful. We had such a great turnout on the dance floor the night of our wedding and that was largely in part due to Terry's intuition, song selection, and emceeing. I would absolutely recommend Magic Entertainment. Thank you so much for everything, Terry! read more

Terry is the best! Very professional, personal, attentive to detail, and a lot of fun! He deejayed my daughters' wedding and it was awesome! She was very picky about her music selections - what she did and did not want - and he abided by her list! He did not play ANY song she did not want and played EVERY song she did want! He kept the music going, he got EVERONE up on the dance floor, and kept the timing of the wedding at a perfect pace! We all had a fabulous time! BEST DJ EVER!' Thanks Terry, for making Kellie's wedding the wedding she dreamed of! read more

Terry was everything and more! We will forever recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ/MC for any event. He took the time to respond to my every inquiry email within minutes. When I first emailed him inquiring about pricing and potentially booking him for our wedding, he responded to me same day, while he was on vacation! He was always available to help, give advice, and was the most helpful in making my ceremony music dreams come true - which were complicated and difficult. He was so patient and so kind and put up with my OCD organization and my multiple lists and timelines. He totally made our wedding day and evening, he kept the party alive, his personality totally shines through when he speaks - just perfect for the occasion! He is a dream to work with, stand up guy, and clearly has passion for this industry. He also set us up with his photo booth vendor, which was the biggest hit of the wedding. The photo booth was custom to your liking (background and printouts you choose) and came fully stocked with every amazing prop you could think of. Very high tech and fancy. You could text the images to your phone for easy social sharing. Terry also provided us extra up lighting as our venue was a little dark come night fall and the lighting was amazing and made for fabulous evening photos. If you're looking for a wedding DJ/MC, he's the best! Thank you again, Terry and Magic Entertainment for everything! read more

My wedding was March 29, 2014. Besides my venue,(and obviously, my husband) Terry was the bast thing about my wedding! I met him at a bridal Faire he was MC for and knew I had to book him! He's hilarious!!!! When choosing your DJ, it's not just about music... They are pretty much running your wedding, working with your coordinator to keep things on track, and being the voice of the bride and groom. They need personality and need to be great speakers, and Terry has both x100! It was a joy and blessing to work with him, he was always so flexible meeting with my husband and I, answered all my questions quickly and thoroughly, helped me create my timeline of the day, offering opinions but always working with me if my wants didn't match up, and the day of, read our crowd so well, I don't think the dance floor was EVER empty! Trust me, for a party you and your guests will never forget, and a vendor that will be the least stressful part of your planning.... You NEED DJ Magic Ent!!!! read more

We hired Terry for our vow renewal. he did a 5 star job! Terry is very personable and super friendly. He is really easy to work with and very accommodating. He makes you feel comfortable and he's confidant in his work. My guests loved his little surprise game and the way he handled the music. His transitions from song to song were smooth and kept the dance floor moving. He followed out schedule to a "T" and kept the evening rolling. Thanks for an awesome job, Terry! You'll definitely be part of our next big celebration! read more

Outstanding service! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ or Emcee. Terry was my wife's favorite vendor from our wedding. It felt like he was an active participant in our wedding; he wanted our wedding to be as special and memorable as he could make it. He was very personable. Meeting with him prior to the wedding was an enjoyable experience. He got to know us and was able to match our personality and music tastes to the event playlist he created. He responded to emails quickly and professionally. He dressed appropriately for a wedding and worked hard on the day of. He was very comfortable behind the microphone and easily emcee'd the event. The transitions and introductions between wedding speeches were smooth. Our wedding required multiple setups, outdoors and indoors. He not only was able to provide the equipment but he was able to move the crowd with ease from the ceremony to the food services, drinks, indoors dancing, and games. He even assisted in many aspects of our wedding including parts that were outside the scope of his services. For example, he brought us food during our photo shoot because he heard the bride had been too busy and hadn't eaten for 7 hours. He even hid the bride from the groom and made sure he got out of her way. read more

We had Terry DJ our wedding (06/27/14) at Oakhurst Country Club and I have to say he did a fantastic job! He kept the flow of the party going from beginning to end and made sure our guests were entertained as well as us (surprise bride & groom game)!! He is friendly, spoke with a lot of my guests and family and is extremely personable. He played all of the songs that were important to us and kept the night on schedule from event to event. I HIGHLY recommend Terry to host/DJ any events you may have. I want to have another party so we can hire him again and dance the night away!! Thanks, Terry!! read more

Woooot Woooot - Terry is the best DJ ever! Who would have ever thought a group of girls would look forward to a crab feed every year??? Well...our group of girls do and it isnt because of the crab my friends! It is the entertainment. We dance the entire night and that is because Terry makes it fun, fun fun!!! Thank you to Terry for keeping us moving and shaking all night long. We always can count on him to bring the best selection of music. We love you TERRY!!! can't wait for the next event. read more

Terry did our wedding a few years back and was amazing! I still compare other DJs to him and have found that he really outdoes the competition. He was fun, entertaining and kept the party going! read more

Terry is all around awesome! We really clicked with him from the very beginning and are so happy with our choice. Terry is so professional and has clearly done many weddings before. He was so helpful in making the wedding run smoothly and even accepted special requests from us (like announcing the end of the open bar, the start of dinner, etc). His prices are more than reasonable in my opinion. He has a playlist builder on his website so you're able to select which songs you want played during the reception. In addition to that he was also able to play custom songs (like instrumental versions of songs we found on Apple music) which we took advantage of for our ceremony. We really wanted to do Frank Sinatra-esque music for cocktail hour, but wasn't sure which songs to include. Terry said that he already had a playlist for that and suggested we do it for dinner instead (which was a great call!). In that case we wanted to do instrumental versions of pop songs for cocktail hour which he already had a playlist for as well (unfortunately we didn't get to hear this as we were taking pictures the whole time). We chose to do up lighting with him which was perfect. The dance mode is really fun. A month or two before our wedding we decided we wanted to do a photo booth. We ended up choosing him because it would be convenient but we were so happy with the photo booth. There are TONS of templates to choose from for the strips and they are even customizable. We chose to add on a TV to display the photos during the wedding which was so much fun. He also has an option to get all of the photos on a flash drive (which also includes a gif for each photo strip). We were able to print as many copies of each strip as we needed depending on how many people were in the photo. Tana who manned the booth was so helpful and nice. read more

Working with Terry for our wedding was AWESOME! He is extremely professional, approachable and personable. He was our DJ/MC for our wedding (150 guests) and kept everyone laughing, dancing and having FUN all night. We had a bit of a delay at the beginning of our reception due to some of our helpers not arriving on time to help set up but Terry took care of it, he told my wife and I "don't worry I'll take care of everyone" and he did! He played great music and entertained all of our guests and no one had any clue anything went wrong. There is nothing Terry can't do! He is absolutely amazing and will never let you down!!! He deserves more than 5 stars!!! read more

After Terry Newberry was the DJ for my sister's wedding in December 2014, I knew that he would also be perfect for our wedding in July 2015. Terry makes planning the music for your wedding so seamless. His online planning tools are a great resource for making sure not a detail of your day is missed. We had some special requests for him, including mixing songs for our Father-Daughter/Mother-Son dances and Terry did all this with ease! He met with us before our wedding to plan all the details and also give us some great advice about song choices. He is confident, helpful, and very experienced. With Terry, we never had a doubt that our sound/music wouldn't be perfect. The sound for our ceremony and reception was loud and clear! He was a great MC and really engages with your guests. I would recommend DJ Terry of Magic Entertainment with the highest regards! read more

Terry is the absolute best! I am so happy that we chose to use him for our wedding. He was the DJ at my brother-in-law's wedding in 2014 and did such a great job that we decided to use him as well for our wedding last June. He has a great attitude and the perfect personality. My goal for our wedding was to make sure everyone had a good time, and Terry accomplished that and more! He had everyone out on the dance floor right until the end of the wedding. He picks the best songs and tailors the music to the mood of the crowd. He also helped me create a timeline for the day of the wedding, and we stuck to the timeline perfectly. I knew he would handle anything that went wrong and completely trusted him. If you book with Terry, be sure to also ask him about uplighting, too. He has some awesome lights that add to the ambiance of the room without being overwhelming or distracting. Terry really knows how to host an unforgettable wedding. So many people told me how great he was and how much fun they had at the wedding. I referred him to my friends who are actually getting married this weekend. I am so excited for their wedding, partially because I know he will be the DJ so it's guaranteed to be a great time! People tend to underestimate the value of a great DJ, but he's worth every penny. read more

Terry made sure we had nothing to worry about when it came to music, etc. Terry dressed and acted professional and made sure our wedding went according to schedule and didn't skip anything. I first found Magic Entertainment through our venue's preferred vendor list (The Club at Ruby Hill). I reached out for a quote and Terry replied within 30 minutes. My first impression was WOW, that was quick! We exchanged a few emails about pricing and services, then scheduled a video chat meeting. I had tons of questions, and Terry was SO thorough and helpful throughout the whole process. I immediately felt comfortable and at ease - Terry was so easy to chat with, so we booked him as our DJ/MC ASAP, and we also booked our uplighting through Magic. My now husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Terry in person at our venue's menu tasting, where he MCed. Seeing him in action really confirmed our decision to book him. We were able to add songs that we wanted him to play in their portal, and about 2 weeks before our wedding day, we had another video chat to go over the songs we wanted, which songs to cut where, and the timeline. On the big day, Terry was nothing short of PHENOMENAL. He kept us right on schedule so my husband and I didn't have to even think about anything, and kept the party going! The uplights that Terry and his team provided looked AMAZING! It really added to the ambiance, and put our guests in party mode! I HIGHLY recommend booking Terry - he and everything he provided were worth every penny, and then some. read more
