First time here...we loved it!!!The atmosphere at this place is phenomenal. The outside seating surrounded by stone walls, trees and lights hanging from the roof isolates this place from the world and makes you feel like you are away from the city. All dishes server here are around 10-15 dlls. Pretty well priced.. I ordered a bistro combo which consists of a soul a salad and half sandwich...the chicken tlalpeño soup tasted just like home, it was delicious.i also ordered the chicken sandwich which tasted so good. The bread was lightly toasted which made it just right...their dressing... Omg their dressing... So so so good, homemade cilantro dressing...we also bought the Asian wrap with black bean salad... So good...it tastes exactly how it sounds like... Asian food in a "burrito" To top off the brunch we had a chocolate cake and key lime pie... Both of them delicious... This place is a must go!! The hours this business reports never seem to be accurate. I have shown up and left more times than I have eaten here. I love eating here because the food is fantastic and the ambience is amazing and the service is perfect. If the managers & owners could figure out how to be consistent with their hours and transparent with how they report them online so that customers could best enjoy the benefits this would be a six star restaurant. read more

What can I say about this place? It's magical. I've lived in El Paso for close to four years and only recently found out about the Magic Bistro. In the first two weeks of visiting the bistro, I went back four times for work and personal lunches. Yes, it's that good. While I have my favorites, I encourage you to try everything. They have amazing prices, if you get a salad you also get a plate of bread (your choice, and they have quite a few, all delicious!). The service is always impeccable and if its a nice day, even if its a bit on the warmer side, the patio is covered and the breeze flows beautifully throughout the area. I find myself at odds with regional tastes and this is no different...my daughter loved her food so three stars for that. I was deeply disappointed. If you love carbs (bread and pasta) you will love this place. For those of us trying to avoid bread and eat more protein....this is. Not the place for you. I ordered the chicken fajita salad. I'm from central Texas where fajita = cooked onions and peppers and sizzling meat. The chicken was cold and cubed. I have no idea how much meat was actually on the salad but it didn't appear to be a full chicken breast. It was mixed in with the cubed lettuce. After a few bites I got up and asked for a menu. I was hangry... Carbs - huge portions of pasta and bread (all inexpensive ingredients) protein - very tiny portions. I sent the salad back and requested a French dip sandwich. I had no plans of eating the bread I just wanted the meat.....disappointing portion of meat. The French bread (I did taste it) was very large and well made....but the portion of meat was severely lacking. Maybe 3 ounces...I don't carry a pocket scale.... I pulled out the meat and dipped it in the au jus...very tasty but the intent was to fill you up with the bread. I finished the meat in 3-4 bites. I'm no giantess....just a normal hungry human. The sweet potato waffle fries were good. I left hungry and angry. My daughter enjoyed her penne pasta with meatballs and a side salad. The price we paid (everything over $10) I expected something more hardy and savory not tons of bread to fill the space. I'm sure other people love it....if you love bread eat here. This eatery truly lives up to its name because it is magical! First off is the setting. We decided to eat outside because the weather was wonderful (which is rare in El Paso, not too hot or cold). The patio area is surrounded by foliage and the tweeting of birds which when coupled with live music from local musicians (in this case a guitarist/singer) manages to create a very enjoyable atmosphere. The service was great. We were attended by a very cheerful and respectful waiter. The food came out quickly and there really wasn't any problems regarding any of that. The menu itself is very simple and refined. Magic Bistro has about 20 items that you can choose to eat that which includes salads, sandwiches, a couple of quiches and pastas, and soups. However, as the saying goes: quality over quantity. The items it has are simple dishes and ideas elevated with different ingredients and unusual flavor combinations. I ordered a pomegranate cream soda to drink which was delightful, and a bell pepper ribeye quiche alongside an apple cinnamon muffin. A quiche is basically a savory pie. The crust of mine was delicious, perfectly crisp and an awesome counterpart to the gooey middle which consisted of bell peppers and other vegetables and ribeye. Everything was perfectly seasoned and very delicious. The muffin was warm and freshly baked (in contrast to other places) and it satisfied the craving for dessert which in the end was kind of disappointing given the fact that the dessert list looked amazing with items such as key lime pie and cajeta flan, not to mention the cake of the day coconut cream cake (or something like that)!!! Portions were slimmed down as well after covid which is understandable but if I'm making the drive all the way to the west side I would love for it to be worth it. The wife and I had lunch on a Saturday. A great mark of a well-managed restaurant is to see employees helping other employees when they are busy. So many restaurants, or bars, you can sit for a long time without even being acknowledged. The owners at a restaurant I managed in Dallas had a three-minute time frame for acknowledging a new diner. The goal was two-minutes, but the main point is it didn't matter who greeted the diners after they were seated by the hostess. The Magic Bistro was crowded. We sat out on their relaxing patio. Within three minutes, the manager, or some employee, came by to get our drink order stating that our normal waiter was quite busy at the time. We were very impressed. Throughout the meal, the service was outstanding. I had the brisket wrap. It was good bordering on very tasty, but the red pepper soup I ordered was weak, a minestrone type of soup with a few pieces of red pepper floating in it. I expected a cream of red pepper, something I had experienced at another establishment in El Paso. My wife had the apricot turkey sandwich on foccacia. It wasn't bad, but it was supposed to have avocado on it. It did have a green spread, but it wasn't what was expected. We really like The Magic Bistro. Not every dish at a restaurant is going to be perfect. But, the ambience, the service, the prices, and the overall quality is far above what most will find in El Paso. read more

What an awesome find- all thanks to Yelp! We had a great, filling lunch with each dish being better than the last. We started with the sausage and red pepper quiche which was also served with a little side salad; it was super good. I had the chicken salad pita and my husband had the brisket wrap. We hardly spoke to each other while eating because we were so pleased. We ended with the key lime pie- holy moly. Overall ambiance is good and the outside patio is so cute. I had a very poor experience there yesterday for a business lunch. I arrived at 12:05 PM and only 5 tables where occupied, including the patio. In other words, it wasn't crowded or busy. I informed the waiter I had a meeting I had to attend and asked for a quick turn around. He said no problem. Two of us promptly ordered lunch salads. At 12:55 PM, I flagged down the waiter and told him if the food wasn't on the table in 5 minutes, I would put $5 on the table for the 2 sodas, then depart the restaurant for McDonalds. He delivered 1 of our 2 salads at 1:00 Pm. The second salad didn't come for 8 more minutes. We ran out of time to eat and only finished half our salad. THIS IS A LUNCH RESTAURANT ONLY 4 days a week. How hard can this be? The salad was small and the dressing was sickeningly sweet. The waiter was great and the location is great. Please fix the kitchen. read more

I only popped in to grab a lunch order to go, but I really liked the quirky/coziness of the interior. The waitstaff was charming, and the food was reasonably priced. Overall, we tried the Basil Turkey Sandwich (very good), waffle sweet potato fries (disappointing, they were a bit dry), the Turkey Apricot Sandwich (great! Liked the bread), & the tabouli salad (good). It's connected to a funky little shop I got to check out while I waited for my order. Overall, I thought it was very good. Magic Bistro was not one of those eateries that pops into your mind when you think about dining in El Paso. Last weekend we celebrated a friends birthday and decided to take a flyer and go there. It was a wonderful experience. Service, food and ambiance were unlike most restaurants in El Paso. The absolute #1 dish on the menu is short ribs that are a tasty as I have had anywhere. The dessert selection was extensive and we sampled a number of them. The outstanding choice was the Creme Brulee. Cool center with perfect sugar topping. Enjoyed a relaxed dinner last night with an excellent trio of musicians playing subdued, acoustic music. The food was excellent, in particular, the tomato cucumber feta salad and roasted pork chops. Paired great with their shiraz-temparnillo blend--I just wish we could have had a few more glasses, because despite our best attempts, we could never get the waiter to return to our table after the entree was served. First time here with my husband this weekend for lunch, and was pleasantly surprised. More upscale than I expected for the location, and a very nice atmosphere for both dining and people watching. They serve fresh breads with many of their lunch items, and the zucchini bread was delicious. I had the salmon salad, which was cooked perfect and had a wonderful dressing. My husband had the pork salad which had a great presentation and he said was tasty. My new favorite lunch spot!!! I had heard great things about the Magic Pan and was bummed when it closed, then immediately was pumped when it reopened as the Magic Bistro! I finally made my way to the spot and I was extremely surprised and satisfied with the entire experience. I sat outdoors, which is awesome due to their large natural tree canopy, so I'm not sure how it is indoors. Sitting outdoors is like eating in a lovely, cool, crisp forest in the desert of El Paso. I highly recommend getting their specialty iced teas, they are so flavorful that you don't even need to add any sugar. If you're really hungry get the pasta bread bowl and be prepared to take some home because it is huge and satisfying. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and it was perfectly balanced with spicy and sweet. The bread was a perfect balance between a crunch and soft, then you mix in the Dijon mustard with the caramelized onions and you got the perfect sandwich! Now, after you enjoy the atmosphere, eat a great lunch, your in for a real treat with the dessert. This place actually has a lot of off menu items that, if you go with a regular like we did, they will give you the tips to order. For instance, get the cajeta crepes!!! On a warm/hot day you will not be disappointed. Then your wallet is pleasantly surprised at the end of it all because all prices are $ at most; Not sure why it's listed $$. It was my first time there and it was a great experience . The food was great and the atmosphere felt like I was in another city. The staff was friendly but the only thing that bothered me were the restrooms. It was super dark where the restrooms are located. Every time my daughter need to go use it I had to accompany her. Really nervous going into this place since seeing the other clientele there made me feel a little under - dressed to be there and so I thought I'd be looked down on and we'd have bad service (dickie shorts and shaved head) but I really appreciate the service here from the host and our waiter (Ruben, I believe). The food was super good. I had the pork tenderloin with raspberry chipotle and spicy fries. My wife had the bistro burger with regular julienne cut fries. For dessert we had the cajeta crepes. I ate at the MB on 03/17/19 and ordered the chile relleno quiche which came with a side salad, hot tea & water. The flavor of the quiche was good, but it was over cooked to the point of being rubbery. The water in the tea pot for my tea quickly cooled down to luke warm. I would highly suggest that the chef learn how to make a proper quiche & that the restaurant should invest in an insulated pot for their hot water. Otherwise, the service was good. read more

Yesterday my husband and I went to dinner to celebrate our anniversary and we decided to go to The Magic Bistro, where we found out they just started opening for dinner,YAY!!!
