About 1/2 hour before we arrived, we called to make arrangements and upon our arrival, we were delighted to find that we had a perfectly sized, private space for us to entertain our business associates. The server was right on top of things, the drinks arrived quickly and when it came time for dinner, everyone was so impressed with the Mexican food and steaks. Our hats are off to El Paso Country Club for making this happen at the last moment and for executing so well. Thank you, Andy. The club, with its somewhat tired decor, still remains a comfortable and classy place for dinner, brunch and cocktails. Several of the rooms overlook the putting green and golf course, which make for an excellent backdrop for your dinner or private event. I have hosted events at El Paso Country Club over the years from 4 persons to 350 persons and consistently, the club comes through for me. The menu is very traditional and approachable--with excellent variety. The Mexican plates are among the best the city has to offer, and the traditional American food, while lacking excitement and flair, is consistent and the portions are satisfying. There are not many dining options in El Paso that serves everything from tacos to steaks and everything in between so reliably well.

When in El Paso, this is our favorite New Mexican restaurant (nearby Sunland Park). We made a…read morepatio reservation for an early Saturday dinner. We had a nice shady table close to the bar and wood fired pizza oven. While we didn't partake of pizza, their bread came out of the same oven. It was great with the roasted olives appetizer. Entrees were very original, as I don't remember when or if I've enjoyed a smoked pork lasagne. The chef is known for his creativity. Service was excellent and the owner stopped by to chat. It's a lovely setting and offered fun people watching.

I was a little reluctant to order the chicken dish because I wanted the sauce on the side, but it came with the dish. However, I'm so glad that I went with the chicken dish because it was absolutely delicious! Our server ( Anahi) was so gracious and helpful and made sure that everything came out just perfect. The only drawback was that it was a little loud and obviously the restaurant can't control the noise level. 04-04-2026 We came back for brunch on Easter Sunday, and it was even better than we thought! They had a Chilaquiles station, all kinds of delicious salads. My favorite was the beet salad with feta. They also had prime rib and all kinds of brunch favorites. My favorite dish out of all of them was the posole bar, with all the fixings. I wish I would've taken pictures, but I was so eager to eat that I forgot.

Oscar was very attentive and went above and beyond to make sure me and my wife were happy. I thought the price we got was competitive considering I called a lot of places. The venue itself was really nice and we got a ton of compliments on it. Everything about the property is really nice and you can tell no stops were made when restoring it. Also, the food was really good and we had the chance to taste what we wanted. Again, I can't stress enough how good of a choice we made when choosing this place for our wedding. The service, aesthetics, food, value and vibe were excellent! I 100% recommend Los Portales!!

Though other venues may offer many different things, we really fell in love with Los Portales when we, luckily, came across it. The beautiful architecture and open landscaping made for the perfect location and backdrop for our Fall wedding. We also loved, and appreciated, the history and story behind the structure itself. We are not local to the area but working with Oscar leading up to our wedding was extremely easy and left us very care-free. We had regular check-ins with him to ensure everything was progressing as planned. He also offered several helpful suggestions for local retailers that were knowledgable and reliable. Once it go to the week of our wedding, Alvaro was also a great deal of help with finalizing some of those last-minute details. The serving staff were also fantastic. Throughout the evening, they made sure all guests had full glasses and were quick to clear tables when necessary. This was something we were not expecting, resulting in it being a very pleasant surprise. Again, my fiancé (now wife) and I could not have been happier with the beautiful setting that the Los Portales venue provided for our special day. Two suggestions for prospective couples considering having their wedding here: - Request to meet with the day-of coordinator prior to the actual date of your wedding. This will definitely help to ensure they are aware of who each person in the wedding party is and who should be contacted if concerns come up. - Share open communication with the DJ surrounding the songs, or specific music, you'd like to be played.
