We ate at Polina Pizza in Old Quebec twice earlier in the week (pasta, salads, dessert which I will review sometime). It was far better than Trebbiano. At Trebbiano we sat indoors on the late side of lunchtime on a weekday, around 2pm. We looked at what appeared to be an all-day menu with a lunch section and choose some dishes. Our waiter (who perhaps was an owner-operator or some kind of invested person) informed us that only the small lunch section of the menu we were holding was available, and that kind of threw us off. There is very little on this whole menu at all so striking a third of it off of the board was difficult since each of the three of us have our lists of will eat or will not eat items. Regrettably I fought the instinct to leave because I don't like to do that after messing up their place settings and having them serve water and all. I also grew up in a family of restaurateurs (father and uncle) so I try to not be so unforgiving about little things. The three of us each started with a Caesar salad, which was good although it was underdressed and consequently lacked flavor. This was common across all three separate plates and salad. The croutons were average and bland, which is a minor offense in Canada. I had a cheese and spinach canneloni, which is a sheet of pasta rolled with a cheese filling (can also be meat or anything). These were served with a "pink" sauce reminiscent of alla vodka but with a milder flavor. These were pretty good but heavy. The dough was probably handmade yet chewy, and the cheese was just...a lot cheese. It wasn't runny, which is good, but it was just too much and too dense. I recently had excellent canneloni earlier in the month in San Antonio, Texas of all places. So this was a disappointment. My son enjoys burrata and he insisted on ordering there. I had noticed in the past week that burrata isn't a big thing in Canada (or that part of Canada, maybe), so I was leery of how this would work out. But, we were in a self-described Italian restaurant so burrata it was. He ordered it without the balsamic, preferring just oil and basil and tomatoes as the menu described. (The menus are in French only, AFAIK.) This dish fell flat: the burrata consistency was way off; it was more like a buffalo mozzarella, the tomatoes didn't exactly shine for freshness, taste or presentation, and the basil -- this is hard to believe -- was just sprinkled dry basil. He's just a kid but he was really disappointed and ate it like a good sport along with bread. My wife tried the pollo al limone and she didn't have anything good to say about it. She eats chicken francese, chicken piccata and similar dishes all of the time here in New York and when we travel. To be honest I didn't try it but the sauce looked a little thick and the portion was a good lunch size. The one thing that stands out is that the place failed to deliver on the Italian basics such as a properly made Caesar salad and it executed a burrata salad quite incorrectly. This was just lunch but at CAD 100 I felt it was just a mess. Sorry I don't have photos but we were kind of hungry when the items arrived. You're not missing much outside of what they show in other photos here, on Google, or on their website.

It was a Sunday evening and there were only 3 to 4 tables with clients in the restaurant. I like the ambiance and the Decor. We did not order any wine because I had to study afterwards but there were a lot of crossed out items on the wine list. I ordered a pizza with the table hôte and my friend ordered their penne arrabiata. The salad was good/generous. The portion of the soup was adequate and it was not too salty. Both our dishes were pretty good for the price. I was a bit deceived by the tiramisu which ended up to be tasting like a very sweet dessert not a coffee base dessert. We had to wait for 30 to 45 minutes to get our bill because the waiter was nowhere to be found at the end of the evening. He did excused himself and said he was doing administrative stuff for closing the restaurant later ... You had a reason why I did not give a five is because we were freezing. It cost me $20 plus tax and it cost my friend $16 plus tax so it is very affordable. I would go back!! They had a lunch menu that cost eight dollars the main plate

Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on a relatively peaceful road across the St. Lawrence river outside of downtown is this place. There's a tiny little parking lot on the side of the building, but not someplace where you can park more than I'd say, 5 cars at a weird angle. Good luck getting back out into the street safely. There is a covered patio so that you can dine in the beautiful weather of the summer months. The restaurant seems very modern and straightforward. It has a real "pizzareia feel" to it which was quite comfortable. Service: Kim took excellent care of us. We wanted for nothing, she was very attentive and made our experience a good one. Food: They had their Buffalo Chicken Piazzetta Rolls on special for the day so I HAD to try those and they were pretty good! They consisted of grilled chicken, green onions, red onions and a few other ingredients. It was s relatively smaller portion, but it was for lunch so that make sense. Value: All prices are in $CAD. My lunch was $20.00. It seemed a bit pricey, but that's okay. In conclusion I did enjoy this place and I'd be willing to check out other parts of the menu the next time I'm in town.

Another interesting thing here is they have an unlimited self-serve salad bar for lunch (unsure about dinner). They had kale! There were a couple of salad dressings and a variety of toppings. What was memorable was the sweet, sweet corn. Bread and butter were served at our table. I didn't expect this for lunch. #14 Spaghetti with meatballs CAD$32 - The meatballs were good, but the spaghetti was lacking. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was just ok. I had researched it beforehand, and with all the excellent reviews and its prime location, I booked a table for 8. Let me tell you, it is one of THE best restaurants we've dined at here in Montreal. Location: It is nestled on the heart of Old Montreal- one of the prettiest parts of the city. Parking spots are found on the street- but be careful as this touristy part is notorious for giving out tickets. The best is to park in the science center garage close by - it's a bit pricy for $35 to park but you will not lose patience scavenging for a spot! The walk is also nice too. The service: We immediately were greeted by a hostess and seated at our table. We had a friendly waiter who provided great suggestions and pairings. He made sure to check on us through our dinner which we really appreciated. Food: Now the best part... the food was delicious!! We had a few appetizers to start: crispy calamari, arancini and a Caesar salad. They pride on their pizza being "authentic" Italian and after taking one bite, you can say yes it is! The crust is cooked to perfection, and they have many selection- we chose a classic margarita for the kids - and salame for the adults. Both were gobbled up quickly! Finally, we had said it was for a birthday celebration. And they brought out two beautiful dessert pizzas!!! I've NEVER tried anything like that before. They were absolutely delicious. Not only did we get one, but TWO which was more then enough for each member in our group to have one (and in my kids case, two or three haha). It was a major highlight to the night! So I definitely recommend coming here to celebrate special occasions as it will leave a memorable mark for you and each guest. I will definitely be back again soon!!!
