From what I've read of other reviews, this place seems really underrated. I can't speak for others experiences, but our night was great. We had dinner in Uptown first. $3 vodka drinks for ladies night, along with $2.25 Miller Lites. The Irish Nachos, Calimari & Chicken Flatbread were all great. Around 11 we headed downstairs to Underground. It wasn't packed, but the bar was full and a group of people were dancing. We joined in and had a great time for another two hours. I'm presuming Saturday night isn't the busiest, but it was still a ton of fun. I'm sure if you called and asked, you could find out their busiest nights and hit a really big crowd. read more

I absolutely adore this place's food. Their mussels in marinara sauce, so fresh and so good! Their quesadillas are great, and surprisingly, so is their sushi. They serve food until pretty late so its a great alternative to going to the normal late night food spots in the area, and to grab a drink too. There are two floors and an outside tiki bar. Upstairs is definitely a more laid-back, relaxed crowd, a better place to order your food also. This is also where karaoke is hosted on Sunday nights. Downstairs turns into a "club-like" scene, with a dance floor and a DJ on weekends. The DJ was actually really good last time I went, and everyone dancing had a great time. There was a guy next to me at the bar complaining that his beer was flat, but he seemed like a clown and i had the same beer and mine was fine. Walk downstairs and you feel like you are sitting in a basement. Drinks are cheap but the atmosphere is awful and there are always some burly, juiced-out security keeping the wannabe-tough guys in Affliction shirts and the local OCC crowd in line. In the summer you can sit outside at the tiki bar and the place actually starts to get pleasant. It's a nice set up so it has that going for it. Usually has some music playing over the speakers and has some TVs in case there is a game on. Bartenders at tiki bar are nice and you can get some corona buckets. Club Maggie's has a bit of an identity crisis. It does not know whether to be a sports bar, disco lounge or pub and most recently they added a Tiki Bar outside, a little out of place but its very spacious. Last week we stopped in and just missed the 1/2 price Sushi and appy ends at 7 PM and we got there are 6:55?? Anyway we had the Sushi at full price and it was the freshest and tastiest Sushi that I have had in a while. Did I forget to say that they are also a Sushi Bar too? We started going here about 4 years ago for the $1 and $2 burger night that they no longer have and because its local Normally good traditional pub food and now the Sushi was a real surprise. Have only eaten in the "uptown" venue, as they call it. The "uptown" venue is an ok-sized bar with a small dining area to the side. More dining space is downstairs in the "underground" venue, and the tiki bar is a small outdoor bar on the side of the building. My GF and I have enjoyed the burgers and fries here, even though the menu is very large. Haven't had any issues with the service. In the eastern Jackson area, this and the liquor-licensed Surf Taco are the go-to spots for my GF and me. read more

Bartenders are usually horrible. Food isn't so great. Service outdoors is poor. If you are a guy looking for a place to watch Sunday Football, you will love it here. I have been in the area now for about 3-4 months and MAggie's has become my 'go to' area place. The reasons why are: 1 - The food is incredible and fairly priced. I thought twice before agreeing to try their Sushi (I was outside at the Tiki Bar) but the bartender talked me into it and WOW, I am SO amazed and the food quality! The Sushi chef is awesome as well as the main kitchen staff. Cannot say enough about the consistency and flavor of the food. 2 - The staff in general are very friendly. The span of professionalism is wide, as they have 5 bartenders who are AWESOME at their job. The others vary from good to poor. There are a couple bartenders who could use some customer service skill training but all-in-all it is a good experience. One thing I would focus on if I were management, no employee gossip and yapping unless EVERY consumer is topped off. Many times I have been waiting for a drink or a refill and the girls behind the bar were gabbing about something instead of selling me product. Not all the time, but sometimes bartenders need to remember they are there to MOVE PRODUCT first, socialize second. These times are the exception, however. 3 - The entertainment here has been very solid. The live music is always good or great and they have a great karaoke night on Wed and Sun hosted by Wildman Manny and his show is always fun with good singers and either Bridgette or Christina behind the bar... We went last night but was leery because of the reviews about the service. We ate upstairs prior to a function downstairs. The waitress was excellent and the food was awesome. I will not be returning back to this establishment. Went with 3 other friends, as 2 of them are regulars for Karaoke night on Sundays. Our first round we ordered a pizza, a beer and soda. When the pizza was delivered to our table in the upstairs bar area, it was delivered by a busboy who dropped the pizza off and walked away. A few minutes later the bartender brought us over 3 plates (again, there were 4 of us). Someone in my group asked for napkins and a glass of water to which the bartender snapped back "I am a BARTENDER. I am NOT YOUR WAITRESS" and walked away. Well then. After our overly greasy pizza (seriously, the pizza was bland and each slice would drip grease for well over 35 seconds when I held it up). We then ordered a round of shots from the lady walking around with the shots, then hunted her down to order another round. My friend even bought the girl with the shots, a shot. We're already close to spending $40 here. During this, karaoke was going on and everyone was having a blast. They were barely crowded for a Sunday night. I went to the bar to order another beer from a different bartender, as I wasn't going to bother with the one who had an attitude. My group then started to get waters as it was getting late and we wanted to sober up to be able to drive. The privileged BARTENDER (not a waitress) would fill the entire cup of with ice, and give such little water - even when being asked to have it with no ice. Around 1am a security officer came over to our table and told us if we don't start ordering drinks we have to "roll out". My friend explained how we just spent over $40 and was cut off "I don't give a shit, bro. You have to leave if you ain't drinking". This security guard then proceeded to stalk our table and hover behind us for the next 15 minutes. We came for karaoke and we wanted to continue to enjoy karaoke. The big bad security guard was finally fed up and said "thats it. Get out. Now. I told ya'll to order drinks.. get out. Roll out. Good night. Good bye. GO NOW" My other friend continued to tell him how we have to sober up to drive "I don't care. Good bye. Have a good night. Get out" --- this is a really nice attitude to have. When my friend told security this isn't good business he responded with "I dont care. Roll out. NOW. Roll out. Get out. NOW" It was ridiculous and so unnecessary. I understand they don't want people off the streets just coming in to "hang out" - but again, we ordered a lot and as it was getting later we switched to water. If there is a minimum on how long you can stay - or a drink a minimum they should have this on the wall, at the very least. Maggies has lost my business indefinitely because of this. read more

Have been here at various times of the day and have not been disappointed. Tiki bar for lunch provides good food outside on a nice day. Night time you can enjoy some drinks outside at the tiki bar or go downstairs to Maggies Underground and drink and dance to a DJ. Only issue I have is that sometimes service is slow at the Tiki Bar, but I will continue going here because it's the best place in proximity to my home. read more

We sat outside. The server tried very hardbut the support staff was horrible! The bus people stood around and watch people look for help. A child was crying because he spilled his drink and they didn't help. The drinks tasted watery . That's exactly why Maggie's is a great local spot... excellent staff right down the line from the managers to the wonderful bartenders.. properly ran security team to the cooks.. The crowd such a place as Maggie's attracts is exactly what it's set up for... young and old.. pretty and ugly alike.. You can walk up the steps and enter into the upstairs with a mature more classy look... nice and dark to give shade to all blemishes years of bar hopping have done to your face... After you had your martini you step outside to smoke and are welcomed by the lively tiki bar which is sure to bring a smile to your face... surrounded by seating for an early dinner you can finish your smoke then go downstairs... Where the 20 something's and their pink hair and snapchatting and twittering will bring you back to the days when your father would drop you off at the sock hop and drink pop all night... Ordered a couple round of drinks while watching football, which they encourage you to do on their FB page, and about to order food at 1/2 time when asked to remove my ball cap or go upstairs. I did not want to go upstairs....Were seated comfortably at the bar & there were no bar stools open upstairs. Crappy way to treat a customer. Maggies downtown is an okay spot to go for a drink. Their prices are very reasonable and the amount of alcohol they put I a drink is substantial. The food is pretty good considering the type of place it is. They have great drink specials and recognize industry workers every Monday. The only downside is that the atmosphere is trash based on the people who go here, and they pretend to be high class when they are not. read more

Terrible service. Seriously went so down hill with the new owners. Only certain beers outside (no angry orchard). One bartender at each bar. No waitresses. They were told it was the last day of school and they would get slammed. Obviously can't handle it. I work in this industry and no way wold this be acceptable. After going there all summer long for the great food and the special $1 hamburgers and the even better $11 prime rib we were surprised to be treated poorly. There were seven of us, all family. We ordered five apps, two burgers and five prime ribs. Food was great, service was great, problem was we were full and wanted to take the LEFTOVERS home. We were refused any containers and were told we would be charged full price if we wanted take out!! EXCUSE ME, doggie bags are not take out!! I used to like this place but have grown very disappointed. I will try to keep this review fair, yet honest. I have some good things to say but also some not so good things to say. The food is very good as well as the prices. The environment at the upstairs bar and the tikki bar (when open) is nice however the downstairs leaves a bit to be desired. The staff is mostly friendly with the exception of a couple stuck up bartenders and an old, grumpy bouncer on weekends. I've seen the manager/owner deal with a situation that makes me not want to go back. He seems to be strictly business and doesn't seem to care about the patrons other than how much money they are giving him. His attitude seems to be, what can you do for me rather than what can I do for you? He's rude and unprofessional. I'll start with parking. When it is not crowded, you can get a good spot. If it is busy, you'll probably end up walking a bit in a not so lit up lot after parking. If it is extremely busy (which has not been the case in quite some time), you will end up in the third lot which is even more creepy and less lit up. It's not very safe if you're a female walking alone amongst the intoxicated people leaving. I've seen them turn people away due to their "dress code" which I don't believe is stated on their website. Their own staff wears sweatpants, including the security, which goes against what the customers are allowed to wear. Staff wearing sweatpants looks sloppy and unprofessional but as a customer you must strictly adhere to the policy or will be denied entry. The upstairs has a warm welcoming atmosphere with very nice facilities but they tend to close off the bathroom frequently (not sure why) to those customers and make them have to go downstairs to use the much dirtier bathroom. This wouldn't be an issue so much except that the bathroom is filthy. I've seen vomit in the sink and on the toilets and garbage all over the floor. The downstairs now has an arcade type set up but I've barely seen people playing the games. It seems that they're trying to be a mix between Dave and Busters and an upscale swanky lounge in Asbury and they're failing miserably. The age range in this area of the bar is now filled with people who barely look drinking age so if you are a middle aged person looking for a night out, I don't recommend it. Overall I'd say, if this is your only option for a night out go for it but if you can go somewhere that will appreciate your business, save yourself from some disappointment. read more

Service was terrible. Texting and drinking behind the bar. Had to grab the bartenders attention for another beer. Orders wings. Asked if they can do 2 flavors for the 20 Wings. The answer was no. Asked if they can do all flats the bartender said he would ask. Never came back to us. When the wings came out he said "oh well guess they couldn't do it" like okay so the I wouldn't have ordered them. We got 8 beers, no buyback. Not like it's a mandatory thing but it's courtesy. I went to the bar one night with my wife to have a couple drinks and something to eat they required me to pay an admission fee which I thought was absurd that I'll be participating paying for drinks and food not for an entertainment see that there was no entertainment I was very disappointed in the barn at night I've been in the bar several times and enjoyed myself upstairs and downstairs but the fact that they're going to charge admission fee I was not happy especially with no entertainment for the emission fee I try to keep my money local instead of going down to the shore bars try to keep money in my Allentown sponsor the businesses there but I haven't heard unhappy UPenn admission fee to get into the bar read more
