Fun and friendly place to drink that stays open past 8pm unlike Woodys. Would definately co.e back.

Came here with some work friends after a long week and it was amazing. The staff was super friendly, the locals invited us to play pool with them, and the pint glasses were ICE cold. Pizza was pretty good and the pick your own music feature was a throwback! Absolutely will return. Tacos with Erin rocked. 3 for $9! Next we want to try Stew with Sue on Wednesday :)

This is dive heaven. It's everything you ever dreamed about biker-style dive bars to be. A couple of really cool bikes out front, a nice cool inside bar with a few TVs, and bunch of great regulars. As soon as we walked in, we obviously stuck out among the regulars, and we were greeted by one who shouted, "We've been waiting for you!" We laughed and joked around with one guy who appeared to be the leader in the bar. He noted that we must not be "from around here" and asked where we were from. Despite us clearly sticking out, he was friendly and soon the rest of the regulars made us feel right at home. We sat at the bar and began chatting up the bartender and a few of the regulars, beer was $2 a mug and we enjoyed a few of them. One of the regulars (who appeared to be the leader of the group) bought us a round then played a game of pool. Lots of fun stuff to look at on the wall which reminded my husband of his lack of man cave and his own personal collection of wall hanging material. The husband bought me a Toms Tavern patch and it was that gesture where we decided that it's time to buy leather jackets. The husband's next observation was the $1 jello shot, deviled egg, pickled egg sign. He asked me if I ever had a picked egg before and when I replied No the bartender, and some at the bar said we had to have one. I am sure they were entertained by our initial reaction but the pickled eggs were alright, not good enough for a second one though! Before leaving we bought a shot for the regular who bought our round earlier. It was his call and he chose some kind of Apple liquor, and it was awesome. It's too bad that Tom's is so far away. They have plenty of specials, a digital juke box, and an awesome crowd of biker "tough guys". They may look intimidating at first, but if you're friendly they will be friendly right back. We will return to Tom's with or without our leather jackets.

Nice little out of the way dive/biker bar. Cheep beer and bar snacks. Don't come here with an attitude or you might just have a hard time making it out the door alive! Pool table and a couple of video games.

I am not a fan of bars and grills, but I made this one of my few exceptions. In the wooded road…read morebetween Farmingdale and Squankum, you will find this bar and grill. Brand: 4/5 I appreciate the awareness of Irish heritage within this establishment. I do believe I remember passing through years ago and the old symbols being the American and Irish flags, which I definitely missed. The official slogan is: Where There's Good Food, Good Friends & Good Times. I have a problem with the repetitiveness of the word "good," since it would take longer for any newcomer to read it compared to a shorter slogan. Inside, you will find a central bar with booths surrounding it, with many neon signs of shamrocks, along with many televisions. Website: 5/5 It looks well-updated, with the functional pages leading you to the menu and the location. It also has that solid green color with the specific Hibernian shade as the color scheme, which fits the site. Wait Time: 5/5 I did not experience any interruptions. Ambiance: 5/5 The establishment did start to get noisy as the day got longer, but it mostly came from the bar section, whereas I ate at the booths. The bar and the booths had a good amount of space apart. The classic rock played smoothly over the radio, while the televisions did not have an intrusive volume. Food: 4/5 Even though it is a bar and grill, I decided to order a non-alcoholic course. So, I ordered the Irish Nachos, which consists of waffle fries, pepper-jack cheese, green onions, bacon bits, and sides of sour cream. I did think that the pepper-jack cheese had a liquid texture. The green onions complement the cheese in giving the dish its sharp taste. They had the appropriate amount of heat and the fries held their forms, whether with the cheese or immersed in sour cream. The contrast of the cool sour cream and the hot cheese definitely complemented well with each waffle fry. Service: 5/5 I confess that I did awkwardly enter into the establishment due to my nervousness. However, I was accommodated well despite my poor first impressions. Worth The Money?: 4/5 I will say that this dish has a great place here, for the Irish Nachos did not cynically appropriate Irish or Mexican cuisine, rather offers a hybridized dish with a unique twist. Though, if Irish heritage is to become a central aesthetic to this establishment, then I would like to see words and phrases in Irish Gaelic in either the marketing or the menu. The business would benefit to have the Irish diaspora relearn their mother-tongue, since it is an endangered language in the Republic of Ireland. Maybe "Spinach and Artichoke Dip" could have a Irish Gaelic translation just below in shorter font called "Taos Spionáiste agus Bliosán." A good slogan has short syntax, meaning that it has the ability to encapsulate a wondrous experience within a few marketable words. The slogan at the end of the menu fitted the bar and grill better which is: Your Seat's Always Waiting. It also would have helped the website to include a brief historical backstory of Mulligan's Bar and Grill. Other than that, the website does have a good feel of the establishment before you even enter inside. The waitress did remark how the booth section did not have enough heat, though I did not notice. Nevertheless, it definitely shows how the staff care about the establishment. The service that I got matched the quality of the Irish Nachos, and the food's preparation matched the time it took to wait. Eating during that time matched the ambiance slightly, with no problems with it, nor the wait time it took to make them. While I cannot say I would return since I never drink in a public place, I would say that the price was definitely worth it. Rating: 5/5 Stars I appreciate the experience of returning to my ancestral roots with every bite of Irish Nachos. As such, the Original Mulligan's Bar and Grill deserves a good "Sláinte!" from me. Recommend To... Anyone looking for Irish-inspired food with modern twists. You will find it in Mulligan's.

First off, this is NOT a dive bar... it's a SPEAKEASY! That said, let's keep this place a secret…read morebetween you and I.... because it will lose it's charm otherwise! Don't let the "basement bar" concept scare you away. Murphy's Tavern dates all the way back to the Prohibition Era (originally opened by Mary Murphy) and even though drinking is back in business with the 21st amendment, the concept of the intimate space to mingle, drink, and socialize is still there. The owner (not the original, but through generations, has kept the Speakeasy vibe going since the 1920s) runs the show. He's an older gentleman with smokey grey hair and bar tends, busses, and let's you finish every drop of alcohol you want- until 2AM! Then, bam, the light's brighten, and it's closing time! Don't worry, though, he blinks the lights around 1:45 for last call! He is also very personable, relaxed, and makes a mean old fashioned! What is great about this place is it really does transport you back in time. The drinks to order here are the classics, strong liquor, high end cocktails, or beer! Side cars, Manhattans, an old fashioned, etc. Single malt scotch. Whiskey, neat. You can also order beer or a vodka soda, or even a club soda. Prices are reasonable. There is ONE TV in the place. It's refreshing. This is the type of space where you actually TALK to your friends or make new ones. You can also play a variety of games. Darts, shuffle board, or the jukebox (it is modernized and takes dollar bills). Age groups ranged anywhere from 25 to 65. Pleasant crowd. Amazing Place. Classy. If you want to check it out, just keep an eye out. The sign is small, but it's there, and it's real! "Prohibition only drives drunkenness behind doors and into dark places..." Mark Twain SHHHHH!!! (see you there!)

You walk down the old steps and the air changes cooler, darker, with the scent of wood and whiskey soaked into the walls. It feels honest, like a place built for men and women who have seen enough of the world to appreciate something simple and true. The story on the wall tells of Prohibition and rumrunners, of Mary Murphy and the river that once hid her secrets. You can still feel that in the glass you hold. The On a Yacht bourbon cocktail has the right burn, softened with mint and peach, the kind that lingers like a good memory. The Blackberry Bramble is bright and sharp, a summer night in a tumbler. You don't come to Murphy's for polish or pretense. You come because it feels alive, because the ghosts of the past sit quietly beside you, raising a glass in approval. A tavern like this doesn't chase the world it waits for those who still know how to listen.

Will this restaurant within the wooded highway in Tinton Falls make you scream "Tally-ho?" Let's…read morefind out. Brand: 4/5 As of writing this review, the family-owned Tally-Ho Restaurant breached its 30th Anniversary serving the Tinton Falls community. I hope that this eatery continues to display its simple yet unique aesthetics for 30 more years. The outside has a very unassuming look, while the interior has canvases of abstract art and country decor such as horses. The tiles and the walls themselves definitely fit the country vibes that works with the establishment, though I am not sure how long it can maintain this image. Website: 5/5 The aesthetics have that classy aesthetic, with the straight, sans serif font, and the wine-red that serves as the thematic color. It immediately welcomes you to a reservation button, an email newsletter sign-in, and categories of the menu items. While the menu does not have images of the items, they do present themselves with transparency, since a few of the menu items do admit that market prices do occur. Ambiance: 4/5 I came during the weekday afternoon, meaning that the establishment did not have a live customer presence. Indeed, I was the only customer to not seat myself in the dining area outside of the bar. I will credit Tally-Ho for having options in terms of space, whether you wish to drink in the bars, you wish to sit at the tables near the television, or you wish to simply eat in the dining areas, including parts where the booths have their own walled sections. Every part of the establishment has enough space. However, my table had a sticky surface and the television did get a bit noisy. Service: 5/5 I did think it was a bit redundant to have a sign requesting any potential customers to wait before being seated, only for the owner to tell me that I could sit anywhere. Perhaps the sign is intended for happy hours or any time that involves lots of customers. The owner did accommodate me with a sharper knife for my meal, and offered me some soda, which I politely declined. Wait Time: 4/5 I did wait a while for my meal to arrive, despite the establishment having a toned down presence of customers. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Veal Parmigiana Sandwich with a side of fries, and a bottle of water. I will say that the presentation of the meal itself surprised me, almost resembling a pizza. However, it only worked against it because the veal eclipsed the bread itself. The well-melted Parmesan cheese gave its cheese stretch and the veal itself had a thick succulence as intended. The bun held its form despite the size of the veal. I simply had to cut the veal before I could eat it with the buns. The french fries had a lot of crispiness (a bit too much), though they did complement the sandwich quite well. Worth The Money?: 3/5 The website described Tally-Ho Restaurant as a "hidden gem," and I can see how it would work for it. Indeed, its unique position along a wooded highway with a rural-coastal connection definitely works with its brand. It offers Italian food, while also maintaining its country aesthetics. However, I do not know how many people who would travel between these parts would become potential customers. It seemed to me that Tally-Ho has a central base of consumers that keep it going, which I can see working but it would not have long-term benefit. The fact that I had to include a knife with my sandwich proves that the ownership understands that some meals need accommodation. I did have a pleasant time throughout my meal, since having my own booth did give me comfort, and the meal was appropriately timed. I do not think that the delayed wait time outweighs the ambiance, but only slightly. I am concerned about the future of this establishment, though nothing anytime soon. I do not have any real suggestions except for the leadership of the establishment to ask based on what I wrote earlier about "What would Tally-Ho look like for 30 more years?" I do not know if I would make Tally-Ho my first or second choice, unless I intend to bring a lot of people for a catering event. I will say that the Veal Parmigiana Sandwich and fries did match the price. Rating: 4/5 Stars I had a pretty good experience and had no regrets coming. Recommend To... Anyone who wishes to eat at an Italian restaurant with space being the most important factor in your decision. Indeed, you have plenty of options as to where you sit (depending on the time of day of course).

Ambience was quiet and I think it has to do with the crowd, most of tables was older folks(70ish+), food (big portions) was just ok, drinks also ok, a bit on the pricey side for this type of restaurant the service was extremely slow, probably the reason why we will not go back. YES I am giving 5-stars because it was worth every penny spent…read more I had decided late Saturday night I wanted to go to brunch, but I didn't want to travel far and I didn't want to spend a fortune on items I didn't want to eat, I wanted a simply, tasty brunch/breakfast. So "Our House" !! Close to home, Mini-Me goes there for karaoke night and she enjoys the food there. Came here last Sunday 2/1/26 - Saturday night I made the reservations online- and Sunday we went on over- we found parking up front, even with the snow piled a mile high. Omelet station was doing a brisk business and although I am not much of an omelet person, I ordered mine, and let me say--theirs is really good! I also went up twice for the roast beef- the nice thing is, they don't cook a huge roast, it's medium size and seasoned and cooked perfectly, not a lot of fat, but the seasoning was fantastic. Chicken with lemon sauce, the pork in a really nice sauce, the house potatoes (really liked these- peel and eat shrimp were large and plentiful. Salads, sausage and bacon, sausage and peppers, and the desserts were so tasty. But lets talk about the waffles here- Belgium waffles , thick, fluffy and I absolutely enjoyed them, in fact I had two- I KNOW!! it was carbs, but who is counting carbs when it comes to a Sunday brunch?! I usually like Bloody Mary's at "Brunch Time", but this time, it was the mimosas calling my name- cool and refreshing and a perfect ratio of OJ and Prosecco. Mini-Me ordered a large apple juice to go with her mimosa's, lol. Coffee was hot and our cups were never empty. Serving staff was working hard, clearing tables keeping the patrons coffee cups filled and even taking orders for the bar service, I am not sure if patrons ordered from the regular menu, but it was busy!!! I have to say, there is something to be said about both a huge buffet and a buffet that caters to the basics of a good brunch- they do not over extend the items, I think that is were some places go wrong. They do 1/2 pans for the buffet so everything is fresh, and replenished quickly, nothing sits for long or is empty. The gentleman working the omelet /carving station was so friendly and nice, I couldn't help but smile each time I went up for "2nds". Anyway for $19.99pp plus tax and tip, it is definitely a winner in my book and a once a month breakfast on my calendar. When I asked about the Thanksgiving Brunch from people I know- Our House was given high praises so, my husband said I don't have to cook this year, we are going to OUR HOUSE!!!! and I couldn't be happier!
