Classy for a dinner with your parent's fancy for a first date. Solid classic spot to keep in the rolodex. Neighborhood spot with its collar popped for a good reason.

If you are looking for very high quality food from a restaurant that does not skimp on details, you will not be disappointed. Everything was SO delicious and so much attention and care was put into everything. Everything, and I made everything, is made in-house. The bread and crackers were excellent. The prime beef tartar was tasty, but the flavors were slightly strong on some pieces. We nearly ordered two of the Blue Fin Tuna Tartar because it was so incredibly fresh (the fish was purchased at the market that morning). The Moroccon Cigar with filo and lamb was fried to perfection. The filet mignon was PERFECTLY cooked (drool). But my absolute favorite was the plum and apple galette- oh my gosh. If you like fruity desserts, this was to die for. I would go back just for this. But the details are what made dinner a truly special experience. The menu covers are made from a high quality leather. The steak knives are engraved. Everyone was seated in different areas of the restaurant for added privacy. As I mentioned, EVERYTHING is homemade. When we left, we received two homemade cookies. Aside from the server making a couple of comments that made me feel like I was a woman living in 1945, service was exceptional and the diversity of the staff was wonderful! We ordered one drink, two appetizers, two entrees and a dessert and spent around $200 with tip. Overall, a fantastic experience. I will be back soon.

Tasty sautéed spinach and real mashed potatoes (not processed). My guest really enjoyed their monkfish dish (poor man's lobster) with julienned veggies, olives, and an interesting sweet yet tangy oil based sauce. DRINKS/DESSERT: Pear martini was fantastic for spring. Real puree used. Nice wine selection (and great happy hour deals). Desserts were NOT slept on like many places do. They have an excellent salad bar that also has pretty good soup and fresh rolls. That alone is worth a try and the meals I have had there were good as well. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. The outside looks a bit dumpy but when you walk in you will be surprised how nice it is. The dinning area is clean and it looks like it may have been recently renovated. The prices are fair and if you go for the salad bar only it is a great deal. Give this place a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
