Oh my goodness, PLEASE DON'T GO HERE! I went here even though it wasn't in my part of town because of the good reviews but I should have taken the bad ones more seriously...Ayye, I had a truly horrifying experience. When I tried on one of my dresses she pinned it a certain way that squeezed my arms, I told her I was concerned about this because I didn't want it to squeeze my arms and she assured me it wouldn't look that way, that she knew what to do and it would look perfect. When I came back to pick up my clothes (actually, for the second time because the first time she told me everything was ready and when I got there she said she hadn't done a dress because she forgot what she was supposed to do.... ugg why not either write it down or at least tell me that on the phone?!) and tried on this dress, the arms did in fact squeeze. I showed her and she said, "I don't know what you want me to do, there's nothing I can do, it looks great." I responded that it didn't look great, and the squeezing of the arms was something we had talked about previously. She argued with me that there was nothing she could do "what do you want me to do?!" she kept saying. I said I don't know, but I won't wear it like this are there any solutions? she said "bring it to 100 people if someone says it looks bad you can bring it back to me and I'll fix it!" I said sorry I'm not going to do that... When I asked her if she could just undo what she did she said NO I cut the material. She then said she could solve the problem by removing the sleeves completely for another $25 (the original fix was $20), and I said no thank you at this point the alterations will be more than the dress is worth. When I told her I wouldn't be able to wear this dress as is, and that I didn't think it made sense to pay for a dress I now can't wear she started yelling at me. I've been working on standing up for myself even in situations when someone is being confrontational or a bully so I stood my ground. I told her she could even keep the dress if she wanted, the point is I can't wear it anymore and I don't want to pay for something that I can't wear. She started yelling and starting to rip open the dress, saying she will try to put it back to the way it was with whatever material was left but that I MUST pay and that she would be doing DOUBLE the work now. I said I'm sorry, I'm not going to pay for that. I had been yelled at enough so I left the dress there and started walking to the door she kept yelling then she THREW the dress at me, so I picked it up and then she started yelling THIEF!! I dropped the dress there and just left, I was truly horrified. This was just over $20, I could've just paid for the dress she ruined and have avoided this whole scene. I just didn't think it was right and I wanted to stand by it - wow, who knew it would become so extreme. Anyhow, I lost my dress completely, she gained a dress and didn't get paid for the bad alteration... By the way, I paid over $50 for the other alterations I had dropped off, you would think she might want to be respectful and try to keep a possible customer around! Lastly, I'm so sad about this I've avoided trying it on again and am trying not to think about it but another dress, the most expensive thing I own and the one that meant the most to me in the bunch, came out uneven looking and too tight in areas of the chest, when I tried it on I quietly mentioned it but didn't dare try to actually discuss it with her. I just hope it can be salvaged by someone else. Please avoid this place at all costs, I'm so so sad. My god.
P.S. I just noticed some similar reviews to this in the reviews that have been filtered out. Darn it, I should've checked those! read more
