I have been a loyal customer for YEARS, and I am done. This business is a disaster waiting to happen if you actually care about getting your items back. Every single time I drop something off, it's the same chaotic scene: customers standing around while staff frantically dig through piles trying to figure out where anything is. It's not an occasional hiccup -- it's the standard experience here. You can see it in real time: nobody knows where anything is. This time, it finally caught up with me. My daughter's school uniform pants are GONE. Not "we're still looking" -- gone. I was told they may have handed them off to a random stranger by mistake. Let that sink in: they lost my child's clothing and think it's acceptable to shrug and say it "may" have gone home with someone else. This isn't about the money. It's about the fact that I now cannot trust this business with anything, after years of giving them the benefit of the doubt. If you value your belongings even a little, take them somewhere else. I have been going here for alterations for 8 or 9 years now. It is always a pleasant experience for me. I live about 20 minutes away, but it's worth the drive. Any time I'm in need of tailoring at a fair price, I immediately go to Christine's. Tucked away in a strip mall just off of Ventura Blvd, she is my go-to when it comes to alterations. The shop isn't anything fancy, but has this humble charm about it. You're welcomed by orchids and potted plants near a small seating area by the front door, but your eye will immediately be drawn to the volume of clothes that pour out all over the shop. Love the few celeb pics she has on the wall. Christine is so sweet, but she takes her business seriously. She and her team work incredible hard to provide quick, quality service - no matter the time frame. My husband and I needed a tailor for his suits and my wedding dress. My dress not only needed to be hemmed, but also taken in. My husband needed his suits completely tailored (he recently lost quite a bit of weight and was not thrilled that his custom suits no longer fit). My wedding dress experience: I got my dress a very nice boutique on the West Side that was recommending tailors charging A LOT of money. I'm talking double and almost triple what Christine charged me. I spent some time looking into tailors in the valley, since we live on this side of the hill, and it was quite overwhelming. Christine's Yelp had a few wedding dresses pictured and a lot of great reviews, so I went to see her. The women in the shop were so detail oriented and kind. Christine made sure that I felt taken care of while she was pinning my dress. She asked a good amount of questions to help understand what I wanted. I knew I was in good hands. She even made sure to go a little shorter than I had advised because she knew I would be walking around a lot in the dress. She advised around when it would be ready and a month later, I was able to try my dress and it fit LIKE A DREAM. It was perfection and I am grateful for her work. My husband's suit experience: My husband had two suits made for him at Indochino about a year prior. It was one of those places that makes a three piece suit based on your exact measurements. The only problem is that he decided to get slim for our wedding and that meant those "custom suits" were no longer fitting him... Since I had felt so great about my experience with Christine, I recommended that we also take his suits to her for tailoring. He was skeptical, but we took the two suits in for pinning. Christine worked without any guidance. It was like she read my husband's mind. He kept looking at himself with the pinned garments and I could see how excited he was for the finished suits. She was mindful of his body type and made sure it would look sharp. I was thrilled. When we picked up his finished suits, he was over the moon. He loves his suits and the green one looked amazing on our wedding day. Christine and her team are so talented and mindful of their work. We are glad we stumbled on her and her tailoring services. There was a point in time where I went to Christine religiously. I swore by her to l anyone who needed alterations. 3 years ago I brought in costume I needed alterations on, as well as gloves made for the costume. I went in multiple weeks in advance of the day I needed it by. When I went back to get it (two days before I was leaving town) she couldn't find it. After a while she figured out it had gone home with one of her seamstress. No biggie. I'll come back tomorrow. When I did she handed me a half finished product but was still charging me full price. After that experience I was adamant I'd never go to her again. Here I am apparently a clown. Over a week ago I brought her an outfit and told her I needed it a week later. $165 to shorten sleeves on top, shorthorn the length of a jacket and bring in the seams on the side of the top. I pick it up take it home and try it on and the sleeves were never hemmed! I had to take it back where I was asked if I had originally asked for that to be done. It was fixed without charge which I appreciate but Ive learned my lesson. It's sad because she is nice but I won't be back. read more

I have come here on three separate occasions for various items, and unfortunately I have been disappointed every time. The hemming is always too short, which is really odd considering how thorough they are with the measurement fittings. I brought a one-of-a-kind, silk lined skirt to be taken in. However, when I got it back it was so small, that it would barely zip up and the proportions were completely off... and it's highly unlikely that I gained any weight during that 5 day period from which we had a fitting to when I got the skirt back. None of the items I've brought in are wearable, which really sucks because they were all very expensive, rare pieces. I'm giving three stars because I really like Christine as a person and the turn around time is decent. She has great ideas and techniques. Unfortunately, I haven't had a great experience with any of the items I've had altered here. read more

Where do I even begin? My husband and I have been coming here for about a year now. I have the small waist big hips problem so I need all of my pants/jeans tailored in the waist. Christine has it down every time and gets it done quickly. She also assisted in completely transforming my wedding dress! Been going to this place for a few years. My most recent experience, however, has prompted me to look for another seamstress. In a nutshell: 1. Make sure you triple check how much she charges your credit card. I was charged $30 over what's on my yellow slip and now it's an ordeal trying to get that $30 back. 2. Triple check your clothes that she hands back to you. She did not include my romper in my pick up and with $7/gallon gas prices, I am livid that I have to go back to this place for one thing that was supposed to have been in my picked up stash. 3. If you have a regular full time daytime job, good luck trying to figure out when you can squeeze in a drop off and a pick up in this place that is only open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. I guess with how much Christine charges for a simple hem job, it makes sense that only inherently wealthy people who do not work can patronize this establishment. read more

Christine is an absolutely impeccable tailor, and a sweet person on top of it. I brought her a suit I needed to wear for a themed event. The suit had a very specific "look" and I'm glad I found it, but it was COMPLETELY Ill-fitting. I had serious doubts as to whether any tailor could make it work. I fell in love with a super inexpensive dress that I found online. I ordered it expecting the worse and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the dress when it arrived. While I did order it custom to my measurements, it still needed to be altered before my big day. I was just going to take it to my usual tailor when a good friend recommended that I take it to someone who specializes in wedding dresses. After a few minutes of research on Yelp, I decided to try out Christine's Tailoring. I called to make an appointment and was greeted pleasantly and told that no appointment was necessary. I walked in, tried the dress on while Christine pinned and made all the necessary marks. Maybe less than 2 weeks later, I was called to come try on the dress for a final fitting. While it wasn't even finished, the difference was amazing. I knew I was in love with the dress but with the perfect fit, I fell even more in love. A week later, the dress was finished. Seems like they have a super short turnaround for wedding dresses. During all of this, my fiance dropped off his new tux with Christina too. She fit his tux perfectly. Ever since meeting Christine and having her alter my gown for a Gala in 2019, I only come here now. She is the sweetest woman. Every time I go in, I always feel like I'm having the most personalized experience, just as when one goes to their routine hairstylist--we can pick up right where we left off. Since I usually only get alterations for special occasion dresses, I tend to factor that in to the overall cost of the dress as well.
