I came in less than a week ago with about 13 items and alterations AND dry cleaning said, 'we can do it faster for you, no problem!' THEY DID JUST THAT!!! They turned my almost damaged white jacket into a brand new piece and alterations made so many wonderful changes to my clothes. The worst , rude , disrespectful customer service I've ever seen in a business in my life. I'm a medical professional and I took my scrub for dry cleaning here. They gave it back to me on a hanger and cover , looked like it's done and charged me more. Than anywhere else! My pans was completely dirty!!! They couldn't clean it up and they've never told me they couldn't get the job done!! Instead they charged me and even though I returned my pants to them and nicely asked them why they charged me when they didn't get it done?! The young guy started to shout out in front of all people there and disrespected a woman to the max!! I could not believe how he treated a customer!!! I've not seen that in my life! I'm a Vintage Fashionista obsessed with vintage clothing (50s dresses are my favorite). I can rattle off decades, stitches, buttons and fabrics with ease and with my arms tied behind my back. I'm being literal: I can browse racks not even being allowed to touch/move the clothing and can still tell what is authentic vintage and what is vintage-inspired. It's an art! When I scored an amazing vintage seersucker dressed that looked straight off an indie record cover for only $18 (!!!); I was stoked. But less so about the fact that it was quite long and I like to show of my (not shy to admit) sexy legs. Thus, an alteration was desperately needed. My go-to dry cleaners sort-of botched my last alteration job so, on the recommendation of the owner of the tanning salon I tan at located next door; I decided to try Jack's Prime Cleaners. Jack's Prime Cleaners is located in the strip plaza housing a 7/11, Sun Tans to Go, an optometrist, nail salon and a children's ballet studio at the corner of Moorpark and Fulton in Sherman Oaks. The parking lot is decent but is always hit and miss: sometimes completely packed and sometimes it is a vacant sore spot. Luckily, Jack's has designated spots immediately in front of their storefront. There isn't much to see here in terms of the shop interior as it is exactly like every other dry cleaners: a tiny lobby with walk up counter, the dry cleaner rack standing behind on the right and alteration area off to the left. I arrived nervously with my vintage dress hoping for it to be altered and dry cleaned. Why nervously? Having any article of clothing altered can cause one anxiety; but when it is a dead stock vintage piece that you can't just go buy again... it is 100x that. I've never been to Jack's so it was taking a risk. The Armenian (I believe) gal at the counter was welcoming and I explained to her that I was a new customer and needed the dress altered. I had already pinned it per the length at home and explained exactly how I wanted it done which was a multi-step alteration (I sew myself, so I know these things). My nerves weren't calmed because she didn't take any notes to tell the alteration girl (or maybe she IS the alteration girl?) and I had to ask if she will remember everything I am asking for to which she promised she would. Okie dokie. We shall see. She offered me some paper coupons for future use and said I will get a first-time customer discount. Awesome! Jack's is tech-savvy and sends customers a text when your order is ready (mine was estimated for Tuesday and was ready early on Monday). When I returned for the pick-up, Ara was handling the counter and apparently doesn't normally work the shop but was "filling in for my uncle" (whom I assume is the owner). Ara was super personable and patient even with my paying in all quarters and offered me the proper discounts and then some, I think, because my alteration and dry-clean came to $10.50 and the dry clean itself was quoted at $10. So, if Ara's uncle is reading this: he is awesome and I loved him! Did Jack's botch the vintage alteration? Nope, thank God! The alteration was great and exactly what I wanted so I guess the gal DID remember my requests. There was a slight mis-stitch that is definitely noticeable but not too bad and I will deal. My other qualm is that they didn't make the dress smell deodorized like most dry cleaners do (perhaps you need to ask here?). But overall, I was quite pleased. I have since worn the dress and it is perfect in fit. Despite my discomfort at not having my complicated alteration requests written down, the mis-stitch and not having the dress dry cleaned with the good-smelling stuff; Jack's is terrific and recommended. I will certainly be back for my alteration needs, vintage or not. read more

On my second time here, the shop couldn't find one of seven items I dropped off, when I came back for pickup at the appointed time. Incredibly frustrating when the clerk couldn't find the dress in the back, demanded I look for it in the back myself (I declined), but also offered no commitment to compensating me for the item. read more

I have hard a really tough time finding a cleaners that specializes in UGGs and found this cleaners, I contacted them via Yelp and received a quick response with quote! Jack is amazing and is always very helpful. Ugg boots typically take 1-2 weeks for cleaning!! It is the fastest I have ever encountered, they are the most affordable and best services. There was another location I have tried before and it's cost 3 times as much and it took 6 weeks for pick up! I love this cleaners and will definitely keep coming, definitely recommend this place. This is the difference between a 5 star place and a 1 star place. I had an issue with an alteration using the original hem. The lady that does the alterations here, I guess does it the old way, where you can completely see the alteration. I've never seen it done that way before and it did not look right. I came in and the guy gave me a refund no questions asked so I could have it re-done somewhere else. While I would not recommend getting alterations using the original hem, this is a stand up business and will continue using them for my cleaning. read more

Dropped off my dress to be dry cleaned and when I picked it up not only had it NOT been cleaned (only pressed), but one side of the slip had been torn. I took it back and explained to the owner that there was still a scent on my dress from previously being worn as well. He explained that when I dropped it off they were extremely busy. That was really his response to me. Not to mention he charged me for the service despite me needing to return a second time for him to fix my dress and to clean it appropriately. I am such a big fan of this business. I have brought them my high end items and my cheaper items that easily fall apart and they clean them flawlessly. It doesn't matter what the material is, they maintain the clothes shape and it somehow looks better than when I first purchased it. The woman who does alterations is just as great! They're miracle workers! I brought in multiple items that were nearly destroyed when big repellent exploded in my suitcase. Those items also had color transfer due to the moisture transferring denim coloring to them, and they were able remove all the stains (and the strong bug repellent odor) from my clothing including silk dresses. Lemme just describe what happened. Wednesday 5/23 I came with bag of clothes needed to be dry cleaned. Around 7 pm right before they close. I thought I wouldn't make it cuz some cleaners don't accept last minute orders. But guys were nice and took my garments for cleaning. I have to say it is my first time using Jacks Prime cleaners. Thursday 9 am. I came to pick up my clothes and it was ready. Clean and folded nicely. Thursday 2 pm. Another bag of dirty clothes. They greeted me like a regular customer!
