We arrived on time for our 5:30 reservation on a Weds. evening. There were lots of great tables open at the time. I asked if we could be seated at a 'good table' and mentioned that it was my husband's birthday. The hostess sat us at the very first table facing the hostess stand - barely in the dining room. I asked if we could move one table over so that we'd be more in the dining room with much better ambience. They accommodated us easily, but come on. They literally seated us at the worst table in the room. There were dozens of tables open, plus I had asked nicely for a good table. We were expecting a really great dinner, but honestly we were both very disappointed. The Maggiano salad was the highlight of our dinner. Average bread was served with plain olive oil vs. herbed. My chicken parm was over done and difficult to cut, but most importantly, it had no flavor. The sauce was very bland. The same is true for the rigatoni pasta chicken dish my husband ordered. It simply had no flavor. This was a special occasion and our first visit, so we had high expectations. The waitress was decent. She served a very simple birthday dessert - whipped cream, chocolate shavings and tiny cookies. Even that had no flavor, though. We are just really puzzled because Maggiano's is a really popular restaurant. The atmosphere is great! Love the venue, but honestly, we are unlikely to return for dinner any time soon. I had a Valentine's Day reservation for the Maggiano's at Kenwood Mall. My girlfriend and I were very excited for this Valentine's Day meal and had talked about it all week. We both agreed that we should enjoy the entire dinner as much as we can and not rush anything given it was Valentine's Day. As we walked in, we were quickly seated on the upstairs level. My girlfriend had not been to Maggiano's before so she needed to take some time to look over the menu to find exactly what she wanted. Our waiter came and introduced himself and asked us if we'd like to put in any appetizers or drinks. We declined to get any drinks and said we were looking at a few appetizers and may need some more time. About two minutes later, our waiter had come back and he asked if we were ready to order our appetizer and food. Given that we were trying to enjoy this dinner and the time spent with one another we were unsure whether we wanted to order just yet. The waiter suggested that it may be better to get the orders in earlier rather than later just because the place was very busy. This made sense to both my girlfriend and I, however, this went against us wanting to stretch out the duration of our dinner. We went ahead and put in our appetizer and main entrees. Our server noted that our appetizer will arrive before our entrees so we will have time to enjoy it. We also noticed that other tables had butter and herbs served with their bread. The only thing we were given for our bread was oil. About 15-20 minutes we put our entree order in, our entrees were served to us without our appetizer arriving. My girlfriend grew a bit frustrated knowing that we weren't even given our appetizer and we had already been served our main entrees after being at Maggiano's for only 30 minutes or so. We called over our waiter and informed him that our appetizer failed to be given to us and he politely offered to take the appetizer off our meal due to the inconvenience. Our appetizer later came while we were eating our entrees. Our entrees were very good and we had no issues with them. However, the nature of feeling extremely rushed at a special occasion dinner where we wanted to enjoy it is our main concern with the service. And every time I went there to eat I was never disappointed. Our waiter was extra nice and the food was good. My husband and I decided to order the Marco's Meal for Two. It's pretty cool. With this meal for two you get to choose any starter or two side salads, choose two classic pasta (add $5 per person for a chicken entree or specialty pasta), choose one dessert, plus two classic pasta gifts to take home. This was a really good deal and LOTS of food. We picked the Taylor Street Baked Ziti and the Spaghetti & Meatball. We took home more Ziti and the Fettuccine Alfredo. The Baked Ziti was pretty good and seasoned well. The sausage in this dish was good. My husband said the Spaghetti & Meatball was good as well. My favorite dish was the Fettuccine Alfredo. I didn't realize it till after I got home because I didn't taste it until then. It was super simple but the sauce was very good. This would be really good with chicken and broccoli added. Mmmm!! We ordered one Italian side salad and we paid extra for a flat bread pizza because my husband wanted to try it. The side salad was good. Just a simple mixed green salad with Italian dressing. It had onions and tomatoes. Yum! We ordered the Chicken & Sausage Flatbread. It was pretty good as well. No complaints with either. For dessert we had a feature item which was the S'more Dessert. It was a Graham cracker crust with a chocolate mousse in the middle and a marshmallow like topping. It was actually really good. I usually don't like mousse but it was very good. I always love this place. Our waitress was awesome, as she was last time. Her name is Jessica. She keeps the drinks full and keeps the bread coming. Our orders are always right. This time I tried the lighter side meals. They're really satisfying, even more so than the regular fettuccini. They have certain meals you order where you also get a take home meal. It's well worth the experience and the money. Everything is so good. Someone posted a picture on yelp about the chicken being awful. My chicken was tender and flavorful. The asparagus was crunchy and cut into one inch pieces which I didn't expect. I will definitely order this dish again. Expect to wait for a table. There is always a line, even with a reservation. The usual wait time is half hour to an hour, it could be longer at times. read more

We just had the most wonderful meal sitting at the bar. Our bartender was K.C. like the Sunshine Band. She could not have been more nice, fun and helpful. The food was phenomenal and atmosphere was great. TLDR: Huge amount of food at reasonable price point, but prepare to be there a while. Details: I won a restaurant credit at work, and I chose to use it here so our kids could come with us as well. We had a reservation at little after 5pm on Friday. We were seated in a nice booth on the first floor, and our server (Lauren) asked if we'd been there before -- this was our first time. She walked us through the menu, giving her recommendations and favorites. She recommended the Fried Zucchini, and it was EXCELLENT! It was long strips deep-fried crisp with panko breading and served with a lemon aioli. I only had one piece, but it was really good and the aioli was not a heavy lemon flavor. My wife said she could have made a meal of just that. The bread is very good - I think we went through at least two baskets with four people. We ordered two of the "Marco's Meal," which is an app or two side salads, two pastas, and a dessert, and two pastas to take home. We all got the chopped salad that came with avocado and house dressing. One of my kids didn't care for it, but the rest of us thought it was very good. We got the Johnny's Carbonara, Fettucine Alfredo with chicken, Chicken Parmesan and Mom's Lasagna. The Carbonara came out cold and the lasagna could have been seasoned better. We should have sent the Carbonara back. All of the dishes are large portions. Three out of our four took leftovers home of their main pasta along with our take home orders. We ordered creme brûlée and carrot cake with caramel sauce, and a spumoni just because it's rare to find places that have it here. All were tasty, but the creme brûlée was a cut above most that we've had. Now, the things that were not great: - It was very loud - most of the meal I couldn't hear what people sitting 2 feet away from me were saying. - Food arrived VERY slowly. Our server was attentive, but it took a long time to get our food at each phase. - The Carbonara being served cold. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and we will probably try it again sometime, but they need to work on the time and noise issues. I've been to Maggiano's prior to Covid but just recently started using their curbside pickup. Any food we have had, inside or pickup, has been fantastic. What we have been most pleased with is the ease in ordering food online and picking curbside. Unlike some restaurants, Maggiano's ensures all food is in the bag for us and all packaged securely so as to not have leaks. The employees were friendly and the deals are great (you can order a double portion for less than double the price). I look forward to picking up food on Mother's Day and hope they continue curbside for the convenience. read more

The complimentary bread and butter was excellent. We got the Italian sausage flatbread as an appetizer. It was crispy, cheesy and amazing. I had the chicken/spinach manicotti for my entree and my fiancé had the shrimp scampi. Both dishes were hot and amazing. The manicotti was tender, cheesy, and everything I dreamed it would be. We ordered creme brûlée and tiramisu for dessert and the manager comped them because we had to wait a little longer for our entrees. It was well worth the wait. We will definitely be back! A seaside bistro in Provence would be hard pressed to do better. I know because I've been to Cannes, FR about 30 times. Plenty of bread to soak up that delicious sauce. Main - an unbelievably terrific 16oz. Ribeye with carmelized onions, doused with a little Balsamico reduction. Pittsburgh style seared. Again, I was a little wary ordering but Aaron, our skilled server, was reassuring - OMG - beautifully pink medium/warm throughout and super tender - better than USDA Prime.
